Great pictures! How did the Crossfire do?

Last in DS out of 9... on Falkens. 7.2 seconds from the class winner.

On that note, I'd love the small decal he has instead of the really big one.

KC, they had both sizes in the decal box, you should be in luck. I figure with a big ugly block of a WRX, you may as well stick a big decal on it to make it look fast, as opposed to a stylish Crossfire/RX-8 :)
KC 04-11-2005 02:31 PM

I just think that a smaller decal would have less a chance to be hassled by the police in my area.
On that note, I'd love the small decal he has instead of the really big one.
Damnit! Tech and my impound crew dropped the ball on that one... you're required to run the "regular sized" TireRack decal on a car. The one that you see there is for karts or cars without real windshields.

Damn. There goes that.
DrBiggly 04-11-2005 04:33 PM

I heard someone else mention the "Small" decals and had no idea what they were talking about. I figured that it's already on my car, why monkey with what's there. :)
DrBiggly 04-11-2005 04:34 PM

Nice pics Scott. :)

I'll try to see if I can get the ones off of my camera, but I'm not going to be home until probably Tuesday or Wednesday sometime.

Why are all these various decals required to be on one's car for this event? Is there money in it? Are some magnetic?
KC 04-11-2005 09:58 PM
Why are all these various decals required to be on one's car for this event? Is there money in it? Are some magnetic?
There are manditory decals required to run. The Tire Rack one is on glass... obviously magnet won't work.

Then there's the "Wire Wheel" SCCA sticker that goes anywhere on the front of the car. Not much on the front of a car that a magnet would stick to. So that's a sticker.

On the side of the car are two more decals: SCCA Solo2 and Tire Rack/SCCA Nationals decals. Those can be applied to magnet if you'd like.

Numbers and class are the only other required decals/magnets. (Must meet all minimum requirements in the rule book)

Those are the only required decals. Many of the other decals on the cars are sponsors of the car/driver.

Say for example, you run Hoosier Tires... then you run a Hoosier decal to be elegible for contingency $$. Same with Kumho tires. Subaru also requires decals (but I think were out before the tour). I'll run Mazda Decals on my 8 for Mazda money... etc...

Karen,
I helped inspire that tag with my own. I pestered Steven until he finally relented. Oh, and it's his wife's car no less.

Robert failed sound on one of his runs on Saturday. He "fixed" the exhaust, then put the dryer ducting around it, just as a joke. :)

Karen
DrBiggly 04-12-2005 02:23 PM

Honestly, it was much more quiet with the dryer ducting on it than before; I didn't know that he had done other stuff as well. It definitely worked. :)

(I worked on course during that participant's runs on both days.)

Take the 1st right, down the hill, stay left up the hill, right over the crest, slight bend in the road, watch the bumps, stay to the left in the fork, down the hill to the right, right at the bottom of the hill, you'll have to bear right, just before the hard left into the twisties, right at the bottom of the hill, around the long sweeper into a very tight left hand turn, one more little jog and that will get you just where you're looking to go. Have fun!
