I'd like to go, unfortunately that site doesn't have a whole lot of information for spectators.

Volunteer to work!
Legba 06-06-2006 05:37 PM

I'd like to do that, but my wife and daughter would be coming with me. Are you affiliated somehow?

Sounds like Rally HQ is at Snowshoe resort. If you need lodging I'm sure you can find it there.

Nope, just trying to spread the word. If you're looking for someone to contact, try Mark Bowers ([emailprotected]).

I'm trying to figure out if I can enter the event, still working out the details...

You have to enter. We need more P2. I sent my entry in today.

Sarah and I will be there!

I would think that people in the North East should be able to participate in this event. For the price i think it is a really good event to get seat time...

Anyone else going?

Course Opening
I am supposed to be there riding shotgun in course opening. New sotware install at work now scheduled for that weekend so still hoping I can make it.

I did review the routebook and it sure seems like interesting stages.

Yeah the stages look really cool. I'm really excited about this new event. IN particular 'cos it is within what i consider a reasonable driving distance from my base. I would think more teams would use events like this to at least practice / fine tune their driving. In particular now that there seems to be a lot of noise regarding "appropriate" rally roads. Anyway... just random babble.

I hope you can make it

Cheers,
Emilio

I'll be there working (car broke :( ). How old is your daughter? You could still work unless she's very young.
GRMPer 06-09-2006 11:06 AM

I'll be there!

spectating / working
Needless to say every rally needs workers. The more the merier. The following thread has some good information about spectating and working Rally West Virginia.

http://www.nasaforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=9750

You do not need experience to be a worker. In fact if you don't have experience then you won't be doing any "paperwork" so you will probably get to see a lot of the cars.

I hope to see some of you out there. Sarah and I will be driving the silver with black roof 2.5 RS

Cheers,

Emilio Arce

Me and ydant will be there in Fast Sweep.
Legba 06-14-2006 11:35 PM

My daughter is almost 3 so keeping her entertained can be tricky. I imagin it would keep my busy, keeping her entertained between cars wizzing by. She does love car stuff though.

I understand. That's a little young to take along as a worker. But be sure to come out and spectate and hang around. I'll be working (car broke).

What happened?
RB5 Clone 06-15-2006 02:30 PM

car was attacked by a marauding ditch at STPR ;)
What happened?
A pesky dead tree stump stepped right out of the bank on a R5>4 where the car went straight on some wet concrete looking mud and punched in the sill and B pillar on the DRIVERS side, then threw me head first into a tree puncturing the radiator (yes, I'm too stupid to crash on the co-drivers side like you're supposed to). It would cost almost as much to fix it as to cage a new shell so that's the route I'm taking (all the mechanicals are fine, drove it out of the stage). Probably not ready till Sandblast next year, have to appease the wife besides building the new car.

Sorry to hear of your loss. I'll keep an eye out for you this weekend.

I'll see ya all there. I'll be stewarding... just look for the cowboy hat. :D

What a great event, especially for the first year. :) Weather became a factor in the afternoon for everyone - heavy rain. I sincerely hope this becomes an annual event!

The mountains made that rain _amazingly_ spotty. At about, oh, 4pm, they got maybe 3/4 of an inch of rain in 20 minutes at service, a serious downpour! Ten miles away at Spectator B, we didn't have anything more than threatening dark clouds.

Weirdo!

What a fun event...We're back safe in Florida after a 14+ hour tow back...got stuck in a bad traffic jam in Columbia, SC.

For once the rain finally stayed away from me! I usually drag it wherever I go. It even rained (not snowed) on me during the Sno*Drift this year...
akuhner 06-26-2006 10:10 PM

I'm bummed I missed it, but glad it went well so I can hope to go next year! :)

Damn straight. Great turnout, great competitors, and the locals seemed genuinely excited to see us there. This one has amazing potential!
