www.japanparts.com has been the only place, that Ive seen, selling the entire center console and side vents trim. It took about 7 weeks (6 weeks back-order) to arrive and 20 minutes to swap out. You can buy all the pieces or each piece individually.
Ill keep you guys posted as soon more parts come in..

http://www.sojdm.com/productcart/pc/viewPrd.asp?idcategory=1726&idproduct=156
seems brutally expensive, but i guess it depends how bad you want it.

Itll ask you for the nearest airport, but all my orders have been delivered to my front door. Either by USPS or DHL.

what shift knob is that? Maybe Legacy? Anyone know where to get one? Or even in 5 speed instead of 6?
Also, anyone got any links for old postings of cool shift knobs?

How did you get the centre console pieces out??? I am worried I am going to break something! LOL
| inchoate | 06-12-2006 04:00 PM |
not to nit-pick, but i'm pretty sure that the spec-cs don't get a rear wiper. they have the lightweight rear glass like the usdm stis.
the rear wiper is tres cool though.

it's simply punch-out. wrap a scredriver witha cloth, slide it in the bottom and slowly work your way up. if you are talking about the knobs...never done knobs before. Only the console plate.
| Dizmal | 06-12-2006 04:12 PM |
Ahh the subtle touches only an internet car junkie would recognize....
That said, nice!

that stock HU really needs to go
| Vostok 7 | 06-12-2006 04:32 PM |
Let me know how you wire up the rear wiper. I have one on my STi that I bought back in 2003 from Kingpin that I've never gotten fully hooked up either on my WRX (which supposedly was pre-wired for it, but I got rid of it before I could find out) or my STi (which wasn't pre-wired). I'd like to get it hooked up someday. Do you have the wagon stalk?

I am leaving my knobs alone...just the console plate. There aren't any screws? I will just try to pry them off gently then.

I was just thinking the same thing! Gigantic silver *block* in the middle of all that JDM goodness. Aside from that, I think I want to do this, too...

Two screws at the bottom. You pry off the rest.
that stock HU really needs to go
That the winter project. Installing a radio/system calls to be inside and what better time to do it.
Do you have the wagon stalk?
Ive done a little research and I found out it may be best to use a Foresters stalk. Ill let you know the outcome.
pics of the rear wiper~
Ill be doing the Interior next. The wiper will be my end of summer project.
Besides, I still need to install these right here. Just dont know when Ill get around to do it. :p
