I think non-existant is the word I'm looking for.

dont be jealous :)
photos you see are where the stages were WIDE.
they got a lot narrower... a lot higher up....
and a lot scarier

traction was similar to....
driving on a watered down ice track :)

no grip. none. zip. zilch.

if i had a dime for every time i suffered opposite lock...
i could finance the rest of the rally season

nice to finally meet ya ... i got you on tape at the timecard check saying you just wanna go home ... i dont blame you, it was nuts out there.
johnfelstead 05-07-2003 02:55 PM

yuk

one of the most fun pictures is stuck in my camera right now, that of the exhaust tail pipe covered in an inch of mud all around it as the mud baked onto the hot pipe.

did that car take some cleaning. :D:lol:

Once again, w00t for unpainted bumpers! You know you're not pushing it to the limit unless a bumper is off or hanging on for DEAR LIFE!!!

Jamie, good work this past weekend. It was great talking to you after the Friday stages. Very informative. It actually looks like you got to have some fun, no matter what the conditions. At least you gained some valuable "foul-weather" experience. It was also great meeting John Felstead in person. I'm sure you meet a ton of people at these events that only know you through the intraweb, so I don't blame you if you can't remember who I am:lol:.

Thanks Brian, i suck at remembering peoples names/net names, but it's always great to meet fellow enthusiasts and have a chat. If you posted a picture i would remember you though, i am good with faces.
eastbaysubaru 05-07-2003 06:50 PM

The only pics I have of myself are on my site. Here's the one that I think is most recognizable:

I'll try to get one that isn't so dark later tonight.

Wow, looks like anyone who has attended a rallyx in central/southern IL would have been prepared for the conditions at ROTW:eek:

I am one proud microsponsor!:)

But, I just can't get over "sponsoring" AV Towing with 20 times what I donated to you, Jamie. Just think what you could do if every one of those microsponsors paid $200+ for a decal.:)

I saw several rocks in apexes that were ~12" square. But then there was one big momma that was easily ~16-18" square.

That transit after Messenger flats was easily the nastiest road I have EVER had to drive on. It was 10x worse than the stage road. My codriver was telling me the whole time that he usually only gets sick... on that one transit! :disco:
Subie Gal 05-08-2003 02:31 PM

i remember that transit from last year...

i was just pissin myself thinking what the hell is this???

5mph transit and you cant go any faster or you will break your car... - that's rim for ya... has to be that much more a car breaker than the next rally :p

he he

And the only reason we didn't have Jamie setting things on fire this time was that mud makes an excellent fire retartant!
