how about you go the easier direction and insteaed of spending $$$$ you should just buy the perrin wing stabilizers
| ImprezaSv23 | 10-23-2006 11:16 PM |
off topic i know.... but i didn't realize till just now...the exhaust is on the passenger side...LOL color me random but that was bugging me haha, wing is a lil excessive for a daily driver unless heavily exterior modified IMO otherwise. not bad

it's carbon fiber...so i guess it's a knock off...but for $2899.15 you can bet it is DAMN well made!
I'aunsport ftw

$1950 shipped to my door! Whats up with the with or without holes??
| EarlQHan | 10-24-2006 02:33 PM |
Prodrive wings will probably cost about the same as a shortblock. L'aunsport wings are very pricey, but the quality is top notch. It IS a CF replica, but I wouldn't call it crappy. That's probably the easiest and cheapest solution for you.
| theicewall | 10-24-2006 03:16 PM |
Why dont you call Prodrive? That or you can try home depot, j/k
| SuperStreet | 10-24-2006 04:57 PM |
I think that wing on a street car = rice
| theicewall | 10-24-2006 06:34 PM |
Agree, or on a street looking car. I'd consider it if I had a widebody STi that I wanted to make a wrc replica out of... but yeah I'd never slap that on my street car unaccompanied. On the other hand, it looks great without the vertical dividers if you look at Paulie's tarmac project (ie. the 02-03 wrc wing), especially since it sits so far back on the trunk to give more leverage from the downforce it generates.

Because the turbo is on the passenger's side, and the exhaust goes strait back from the turbo. It couldn't cross over anyway because of the various under-guards on the car.

The CF replicas from L'aunsport, Alex Racing, etc all have a gap between the wing and the trunk on the rear windshield side, about 1cm. The fiberglass version fits much better from what I have heard.
The replicas actually comes in 6 pieces (wing base, wing top, 4 splitters) , and you have to assemble them.
If you want the authentic Prodrive WRC splitter wing, contact Prodrive UK to get a quote. It's dry carbon fiber, race quality. The last time I checked out of curiosity, Prodrive sells the CF wing for around 5800GBP, which is roughly around $10000.
I know the member STI_Jaguar on this forum has an ABS plastic WRC wing that he bought off another member who got it from Prodrive UK. From talking to Prodrive UK, the ABS plastic wing is a one-off made for a Prodrive showcar. That wing was sold as surplus a few yrs ago. Prodrive do not make fiberglass nor ABS versions for the general public.

I have e-mailed all of the possible venders and am waiting on a responce;)
So far I found that grupp-s hass replica's w/o the splitters for around $350!
And I found a site that has the splitters in the UK for $1405.60:eek:
http://www.scoobyworld.co.uk/catalog/product_info.php?name=4+Piece+WRC+Style+Rear+Wing+(00509%2FL)&products_id=398 , at this point I would like to find a replica with splitters.

The Vermont Sportscar rally cars have that spoiler (or, at least one did). They build them, they must know where to get them, although I don't know if they do private sales or not.

Looks more like they grabbed the a few Perrin splitters and tucked them into the stock wing. As posted l'aunsport and burn-up are the only folks I've found that are making those wings. Since nobody in the US stocks them, you pay $$$ for the wing and $$$ for shipping. There're lots of interesting body bits outside the US, seems like a business opportunity for someone that already does container shipments... ;)
