How do you keep YOURS shiney.

Everyone has their own little methods of car care. Whats yours?
I give her a good clay followed by a good wash with Mr.Cleans Autodry, then Meguiar's Deep Crystal Polish, then two layers of Meguiars NXT Tech Wax.

1) Wash once a month with Armorall or Zaino mild car soap. Dry with chamois.
2) Hose down once a week with plain water.
3) Complete Zaino twice a year and rub down with Zaino Z-6 and cotton towel once a month after soap wash.

1.) Meguires ColorX polish/swirl remover
2.) Meguires #16 paste wax, gives it a better shine and protects very well.
that or
1. Clearkote Vanilla moose wax (www.clearkote.com)
2. PoorBoys EX-P sealant
both will give a excellent shine. And if you have some money, look into pinnicle products :D

When you live in the country with field dust, grain dust, gravel dust, mud, pollen and all the other crap, it doesn't make a difference because it'll be filthy in 3 days anyway.
Mine is powerwashed at the coin operated about twice a month with an emphasis on the undercarrige, handwashed once a month.

Run your fingers across your paint surface and you may feel small bumps and debris lodged into the surface. Claying will remove road debris and particles lodged into your surface leaving you with a slick smooth paint surface with less defects.

It's also good for removing paint over-spray, excess baked on wax, and in some cases (worked for me) tree sap.

About twice a year I do the following:
*clay with Clay Magic
*If needed, use the buffer and some 3M Swirl Mark Remover
*polish with Klasse All-In-One (2 or 3 times)
*seal with Klasse sealant (3 layers)
*drink a bunch of beer ;)
After that I just wash with P21s and wipe down with Sonus. After years of experimenting, this procedure has become my favorite.
PS: I should also mention that sealants bring out a lot more of the blue and metal flake in the "midnight" paint on my WRX than regular carnauba does.

Clay Magic or Mothers have a good clay bar kit. I use Clay Magic.

Should I use Meguiar's Gold Class, NXT, or #26. Or if a combo in what order?
| MrHorspwer | 06-04-2004 12:01 PM |
Wash
Dry
Clay bar
Wash
Dry
Mothers Pre-Wax Cleaner
Mothers Sealer/Glaze
Meguires NXT
This happens twice a year, Spring and Fall
A couple times in between, it'll get a rewax after a good washing.
This spring I had to get a little more involved with the process... 2500 wet sand and a machine polish with 3M Finesse-It.
Last fall, our grounds crew at work decided to repaint all the utility and light poles in the parking lot... without asking us to move our cars first. 3/4 of my car was covered in little brown dots. Even with the most aggressive pad on the polisher with semi-aggressive compound, it wasen't coming off. A long afternoon with Mr. 2500 and a quick polish, it was good as new.

This is exactly what I use! Very nice results, especially after you get 2-3 layers of Klasse High Gloss Sealant Glaze on the car. With only one layer, it definitely looks nice but 2-3 make things really pop!

claying removes all contaminants in the paint and on the surface..
acid rain, **** from trees, poop, anything that was there overtime..
that's why it's best to wash the car once a week and do a good job to elimate getting the paint ruined.
