First TS mod: Fogs or wing?
I'm saving for my first real pricey mod. most everything I've done up to now has been reamen-spec or DIY (or both) . What do you guys think for my first real style mod? Fog lights or a rear wing? I like the fogs, but the rear wing really helps the shape of the car,

Fogs, by far. You can put on the factory set in about an hour, and the looks of the car(front end, anyway) are VASTLY improved.
EDIT: out of curiosity, are you looking for the roof spoiler(OEM Rex wagon) or the midspoiler(below rear window, on hatch)? I'd suggest the roof spoiler first(after the fogs, of course)... really brightens up the TS.
IggDawg is cool. TSs rule.

Roof spoiler. I've seen the mid-spoiler and I don't like it as much. The roof spoiler adds the "hot hatch" look, and eliminates some of the roundness on the back. looks great with a debadged trunk.
Yeah, I agree about the fogs. They're a little more functional too :D . perhaps I'll just have to go with those then. I'm a little cheap to spend 200 bucks though. Maybe Ebay has a set for cheap.

For the roof spoiler you need 2 hole saws and a nutsert tool. Luckily my buddy Rob had these at his fab. shop. Measure three times before you drill the holes, Set spoiler in place then mark the lower holes with a sharpie (don't use the templates). The nutsert tool is about $80 if you don't know anyone you can borrow it from. But I love the way my car looks with it on there.
Fogs are very easy to install and will help with the Igg-Bore intake.
Do the frogs first.

Go with the fogs. My concern, and someone correct me if I am wrong, is rusting where the spoiler attaches. I have seen so many spoilers, factory and aftermarket, where there were 2 rust spots growing from where the holes were drilled. I own my car outright, and want it to last for a number of years. Of course if you lease if for 3 years your decision is different. Is there any way to rust proof the exposed bare metal once you drill?
I really like the look of the spoiler, but it would kill me to have it rust in a year or two.

I'm pretty sure you could put on some kind of sealer. Anyone?

Hrmm.. I was gonna say spoiler first.. Adds that pimpin' Jackie-Chan-Subaru-from-Cannonball-Run flava, only without the jet exhaust poking out the hatch. :D
I had the dealer install mine when I bought the car, was one of only two options I wanted from them (the rest I'm installing myself).
SoobATV and I installed the frogs in mine. Except for getting the original covers off (minor problem), it was damn easy.
Don't be cheap, just buy new ones from Exeter.
Yay Subaru! IggDawg is cool!

Yeah... I'm saving up for fogs now. I'm poorer than I am cheap. If used fogs come my way before I can build up 200 spare bucks, I'll take em. I jsut don't have a whole lot of cash to toss around right now :( . I'd like to buy new, but we'll see what happens :)

i like the way they look without the spoiler myself, but i know im a minority there. and the fogs look good, but i dont see anything WRONG with the look of the stock covers, so im not worried about putting fogs in mine yet.
in my opinon, the most appearance-altering mods u can do is wheels and tint. the only appearance mods on my car is wheels, tint, "headlight mod", and white emblem (other than the windshield banner  ) here it is:

I would also go with the fogs first. One cool thing about the fogs-at night, everyone gets out of your way, especially on the freeway. Major intimidation factor :D

Fogs. Why exactly are you going factory? Put some Hellas in there and sell the covers to make it cheaper for you.

where's the best place to go for Hellas? I'd love to get a set. I'll post a "possible WTB" and see if there's any interest in the covers. Thanks for the tip

Igg....Dirty Parts in Culver City has all your lighting needs, PIAA, Hella, etc. They also do installs.
And yes, who wants to buy the" TS" I debadged off the rear?

After you drill the holes you have to cover the bare metal with paint. I used black spray bomb. Sprayed it on cardboard then used a small paint brush to aply it to the edge. We used to do this with sunroofs years ago, and we never have had one come back for rust.

I think the very first mod to do on the TS is throw on some cheap H&Rs or Whiteline springs. That's one of the first mods I did and it's easy to do as well.
Around $200 bucks.
Here's some motivation:

Here's a shameless plug for a bud: Go to www.rallydecals.com and order teh STi door kit KC put together. It looks damn good, and it'll go well with your STi grill badge. 10 bucks for close to 50 whp!!
I really like those fogs. Yellow won't go well with SRP, but it looks great on white. I like your debadging. I kinda wish I'd left on the "2.5 TS Impreza" badge, but it looks fine without it. the only thing on my car's ass is the "Subaru" logo from KC's door kit.

I was looking at that STi door kit as well but am still trying to justify the $10 bucks. :D :D
In the meantime, I was going to actually replace the TS emblem with a bunch of "others." Gotta be different you know. Thanks for the compliments. Hey, where's your car?

The door kit of rallydecals.com is only 10 bucks. Justify that :D .
I'm in Sterling, MA. Just north of Worcester (If you ask a local, ask for "Wis-Tah"). I'm a little ways away. I envy your sand dunes in oregon

I would figure that a spoiler should be first mod. Only because your cars paint job is new, and if you get a spoiler later, the paint job on it would be new, and your body paint might look duller and wouldnt match. Thats why i was thinkin of wing as first mod on mine.:p

the first thing i'd say is the spoiler, then spring
here is mine~

Tires, then sway bars, then struts, then springs.
Maybe a set of those MRT headers and exuast.
