Color for calipers on a silver wrx?
Sooo.. I'm eventually going to paint my calipers, but I'm debating what color I should paint them. It's a platinum silver metallic wrx. Black wouldn't stand out so much, white might look okay, but that would get dirty soooo fast, red might be too... I don't know, already done for my taste... I don't want anything blue on my car (going to change the seats eventually). I don't know, what do you guys think? And does anyone have pics of a silver wrx with painted calipers? maybe actually seeing a color on it would change my mind or give me more of something to base my opinion off of.

as much as you don't wanna hear it, i'd say blue, a dark blue, and a blue 'I' badge on the front, replacing the Subaru badge... silver and blue just go together really well.. haha

hmmm... I never thought of dark dark blue, I was always envisioning a bright blue... I'll consider it. I would like to keep the overall monotone look of the car though. Silver, cleared out sides with morrettes. we'll see.

What about Gold?

How about STi Pink? ;)

I thought about red for awhile, but like you, it's just a little to commonplace. Eventually I settled on black. Subtle.
As soon as I have a clear Saturday, I'll get around to it. Combined with some MRT drilled rotors and Steel Grey Rotas, I think it will be a good combination.

I did mine in Silver and painted the outside brake pads a nice Ford Blue which almost matches my blue cusco swaybar :)

Caliper paint
On my silver WRX the calipers are blue (Ford engine paint for some heat resistance) Very close to Subarublu.

rainbow.
can't go wrong with rainbow.
(I'm thinking about a dark blue for my silver rex, but haven't decided whether to bother painting, or just upgrade the calipers!)

Yellow!
I have seen a lot of 911s with yellow calipers and they look so sweet! That and I have always wanted one. Anyhow I think most would find this attractive even those that don't like all the flash... So what if i'm comparing apples to oranges. Silver and yellow mix well.

hmmm... yellow... I don't know if it'll be too flashy or take away from the overall look of the car but I do have to admit they look great on that porsche. Then again, it IS a porsche. Maybe a little yellow in the mix is just what my car needs. Thanks for the pic!

guys... no offense to our cars or anything, but the porsche could have "electric pink-fuscia" and that car would STILL look hot.
I don't even know if LED windshield washers would make that car look bad!
well... maybe that's a stretch.... :alien:
oh - and remember, the yellow gauge needles and yellow ring around the Momo logo on the steering wheel.... I know it's a stretch, but there IS yellow on the car...

How about on my blue beast
I too am interested in painting my calipers, but can't decide on a color. My sedan is wrb.

Silver Calipers on a Silver car with Dark (Gunmetal/Anthracite) rims would look HOT in my book.

Yellow might look pretty damned spiffy on a WRB car

I think I've decided to go with yellow. This won't get done for a while though since I still have two weeks til this quarter is over. I'll post pics when I get around to it though! thanks.

wow yeah... I definitely think yellow would look great with WR Blue! yellow and blue were made to go together. post pics if you decide on that.

I had narrowed mine down to yellow and red and ended up with red. I'll probably paint them in a week and post pictures (if I remember this thread. Mine is also a silver wrx.

How about WRB wagon with gold wheels? Might yellow clash?
Anyone know if the G2 kit's blue clashes with WRB?

I don't think that the yellow and gold would go well together. Especially with the gold right on top of the yellow.
