Well, when I purchaced it I hadn't heard that they may not be very accurate. But since then I have read posts that are back and forth on the subject. I decided to find out for myself.

Besides, a/f gauges look cool....:)
MAD REX 04-17-2003 01:27 PM

If I offended you I didn't mean to. I also bought the a/f gauges way back and didn't know. They are cool at night I guess but I finally decided to ditch mine.
shpshift 04-17-2003 01:40 PM

Its cool. I did notice its seems to jump around alot. Not sure how you're supposed to decifer whats going on... It stays for now, maybe something more useful in the future.
philip_g 04-17-2003 03:59 PM

what did you do for a faceplate?
shpshift 04-17-2003 05:01 PM

The faceplate is just a piece of plexiglass that I "frosted" by running some med grit sand paper over. Its dark under the pod so it actually makes it look grey. I was going to paint it but desided that worked out even better. I suppose if you wanted to get real flashy you could put a colored bulb behind it:eek:

Nice.
rex1308 04-17-2003 06:16 PM

How did you hook up the oil gauge? Did you need a new sending unit? The local speed store said the sending unit is too big and that I can't use that gauge. Let me please know hpw you did yours?

nice. I like the way they fit.
I have the same gauges and a pod on the way, think I'll rip off your idea

I went with a mechanical oil pressure guage so no need for a sending unit.

shpshift 04-20-2003 06:57 PM

Yes well, "Its a good thing..."
Schleppy 04-20-2003 07:29 PM

What gauge face are you using (the thingy that actually holds the gauges into the Subaru pod)? Is that the Derres Catalano one?
shpshift 04-22-2003 05:11 PM

Schleppy-

The "thingy" that holds the guages in the pod is just a piece of plexiglass that I used for a faceplate (mentioned above)...
02BlackWRX 04-22-2003 05:28 PM

hey the gauges look great!
