Rallyarmor mud flaps....

Anybody have these on their cars? Looking to see what how closely the blue matches with blue pearl paint. Want to pick these up but not sure what color lettering to get. Thanks!

I do, blue on blue:

Click on the pic to get some more detail. They match fairly well, although if I was gonna do it again, I'd get black on black.

I have black on black. Nice flaps however some of the hardware supplied in the mount kit is not particualrly tough. Fixable for pennies at the hardware store.

I bought the versions without the logo. I've been happy with mine (black flaps on a black car).

I have a set of those too, but they are no longer made. They were an early production run. If you want all black ones you can get them with the logo stamped but no color.

Hmmm okay anyone with pictures of black on black on a blue car? I am having a hard time deciding...lol. Thanks so far for the pics guys.

I've got red logo on my blue WRX. I think they look fine. They look best with an STI wing, IMO. STI wing go up, flaps go down. Just evens it out a bit I think.

These mud flaps are awesome. They feel crazy durable, work really well, and I love the way the red flows with the taillights and calipers on my TR...

I've got the black on black and love 'em. Highly recommended. Even with just street driving, they keep all KINDS of mud, pebbles and crap off the paint. I'm sure they've saved me a few rock chips already.

Man I am having such a hard time with this...lol. OKay mine as well ask for any pics with red flaps. Thanks for the pics so far guys!

not the best pic, but i love'em, was gonna get silver, but i think the red goes well with the tail lights...

I want some of these too, do they really keep rocks from kicking up on the side of the car though. I can see that they are good looking in any color but I was curious about their functionality.
| turbo tecnica | 02-08-2006 07:04 AM |
They work very well. I've driven down a few gravel roads where there were a good amount of small loose rocks and none of them kicked up at the side of my car. They also keep my car noticeably cleaner, since it keeps the wheels from spraying all over the car.

Mudflaps/curb feelers. lol
I love mine. Great product & very tough. I couldn't belive when I was installing them that those plastic clips were going to hold them on the car - but I havn't had a problem yet.

Has anyone tried painting them with maybe that krylon fusion paint that is advertised to molecularly bond to plastic? I don't know how well that paint would work on a flexable application but if it did they would look pretty cool! it would be a kind of expensive experiment if it didn't work though, maybe I'll test some of the paint on a similar piece of plastic before I try anything drastic. Just a thought though

I've got red logo on my WRB... but the only pictures I have you can't really see the red logo...

Here's one other crappy one, but you can see the red at least

Well, see now... that's the thing about these mud flaps... There's uh, not really any "flap" to them. :D
They're not exactly flexible, being what... 3/16" thick? They'll flex enough not to break and to work as curb feelers, but they're solid, stiff and firmly attached enough to tear off your rear bumper or wheel well liner in the right situation. It's unlikely, but I've heard from people here that have had it happen.
Oh, all that said, I don't think you'll have a problem with the paint coming off due to the flap flexing too much. I'd give it a shot on a small section of the flap that gets hidden away when mounted anyway (that's a large area). Though there is some flex inherent with the mounting.

Really? Well are there any other better options out there?

I don't think it should be a worry for you. We're talking rather extreme situations. I couldn't provide an example, because it hasn't happened to me, but I think that this problem would occur with a low-hanging bodykit too.
| WRC51 | 02-09-2006 07:30 PM |
I scrape mine if I take A hard corner because I have my car lowered & I have had no problems.
| mikecoscia | 02-09-2006 10:13 PM |
Man I really cant decide what color. The red matches nicely with the back lights and the STI logo. Blue matches the paint, and black just wont look dirty. I need to make a poll...haha.
| turbo tecnica | 02-09-2006 10:26 PM |
It's not really a huge decision to make. I forget I even have red down there... it's not something you regularly look at/notice.

And I thought $90 was expensive for mudflaps.
MUDFLAPS... I can understand Prodrive parts that make a difference due to superior engineering, but $220 for MUDFLAPS? :D

Those actually are of different material. They flap around even in the wind ... Though I like the flappy types ( WRC like ), they are normally really very expensive, just like the OEM Subaru Mudflaps ( the bigger ones ).
Rallyarmor is nice value for money. It really depends on what you want.

Anybody actually have the prodrives? Do they stick out as much as the rallyarmor ones? For that price I hope the blue ones are WRB to match the car color.
