Leave the STI logo on. If you had an STI strut bar, or STI intercooler, would you take the logo off?? First and foremost STI is a parts manufacturer, not a car model. So while I don't like the idea of putting STI on non-STI PARTS, if you've got the real thing, show it off! Otherwise, it looks like a fake.

I always recommend mesh covers if you still have fogs.

*me seconds fortytwo*
but dont show it off too much, then its just rice lol.

definately get solid foglight covers. the cars with the sti lips look funny without solid covers.
| NimrodBoz | 10-19-2003 03:11 AM |
the car looks great. you shoud be able to tell if your car needs fog covers or not. why not just buy them and then decide whether or not you need them at the time? (you can always remove them)

Blue painted no-sti-lettering mesh for log covers! (Black mesh, it'll match the headlights!)

Actually, STI is a parts manufacturer, whereas STi refers to the car model. Subaru points this out on their logos page where they explain the colors and proper usage of their emblems.

I hope this wasn't directed at my comment, because I've already mentioned this:

Matt, your car looks sick. I hope I get my act together and my WRX looks as good as yours some day.

Right, I think it's ok to leave STi on STi parts, as long as they are not on the exterior of the vehicle. With it on the grill like that, it will confuse people into thinking that it's an STi. Nobody is going to say, Ohhh thats just an STi grill!!
That is exactly what rice is. Rice is pretending to be something your not. If you have an STi exhaust, sure.. leave STi on... i dont know how you would get it off the exhaust tip anyways.. STi seats? Sure leave the STi on... But don't purposely mis-badge your car. If it's on the grill.. either don't purchase that grill, or remove it, or endure "rice" comments.

First read this:
Actually, STI is a parts manufacturer, whereas STi refers to the car model.
As far as confusing people, how many bug-eyed STi's are there in the US, much less driving around town. If people are going to cofuse this car with an STi, they certainly don't know much about Subaru, and probably cars in general (but not necessarily, I know). Look, should Nissan owners remove Nismo parts, or Toyota remove TRD parts. No. They are parts manufacturers, just like STI. Imagine taking the Nismo off your Skyline GTR, just because you don't have the 400R. ;)

covers

I put some aftermarket, mesh fog covers on my car, I think the factory ones are too expensive, and the STi lettering tacky on a non STI vehicle. Solid covers? but then your foglights are useless...
The after market ones fit great, I am having them painted and the whole thing was only about $70 with paint and shipping...
thats my opinion.

That is the whole point of customizing your car, is to make it the way "YOU" wanted it. Who cares what anyone think?
Matt......if you ask me, my opinion is I like it the way your car is now.
