3. You cant use spiked tires in the rally america championship ...... So they just use blissaks and normally snow tires

5. Yup the Swedish Stig is running the championship
mykrrrr 01-31-2005 04:42 AM

1) Shepard blew threw the pile up on SS9 because there was no red cross thrown by anyone. I guess he clipped Iorio's car in the process. Words were had and penalties issued.
2) Don't know.
3) Just basic snows although I did see some Yoko ice tyres floating around the service area. We just ran Blizzak WS50's
4) Yeah, Mike co-drove for one of the SRT4 crews. Can't remember who.
5) I'm soooooooooooooo stoked for this. :D It's gonna be a great battle w/Pat & Stig all season.

Congrats to Pat and Nat for their overwelming win. :D

Congrats to JC_595 for running strong on day one getting 2nd place in PGT in Sno regional rally/4th overall and setting the 2nd fastest OVERALL stage time on SS2. 1.4 sec off Pat Richard in a PGT WRX is pretty good in my book. :D

-mykr.
JC_595 01-31-2005 11:50 AM

.6 sec dude.

I scared myself & slowed down after that.

The next stage (the Ranch I, SS3) we woulda been close to the same time also had bannering tape not been missing on the R3 at the beginning. Even if there woulda been pieces left I woulda known to turn. We went all the way to a dead end & had to turn around. A bunch of people ahead of us had done this too. You can see by the times of the top people on that stage who did it... It cost us like, 45sec or so.

FUN FUN time! Man, having a good car makes such a difference. Too bad I clipped that bank on 12. But at least the haybail at 90+ didnt do any damage! I really wish that SS9 woulda counted. Us & Ken Block rocked that stage.

Does anyone know where the club results are posted?
I tried Sno*Drift site and Rally America's site, but no complete listings.
Thank you!

Oh yeah, SS9 top speed - 105mph. Averaged 57mph according to the Coralba...

That stage was WAY too fast...

JC's just being modest. We only hit 97 on that stage. But it was definitely one of those "holy crap this is fun" while you're on the stage and "holy crap! that was too fast" when you're done stages.

1. Doug passed Matt's parked car after the cars were stopped in-stage after the incident on SS9, and accidentally hit Matt's car. Words were exchanged at the FTC of SS9. The results of the protest committee can be found on the Rally America site.
2. Burned it on a space heater while trying to fix his broken-by-the-airlines lens.
3. We used Nokian Hakkapelitta RSIs. They worked very well, and were predictable.
4. Yes.
5. Yes. He'll be here from Oregon on. Finally a Swede you'll all treat with the proper respect.

Hej hopp,

Doug can get hot headed I'm sure! I can almost see him as we speak!

if you go to the results page then select the regional results from the menu select over the right hand overall results column.

there is no "club" or "pro" anymore just "regional" and "national."

Yeah, sorry. I am bragging & shouldnt be. It was only one stage. :)

But MAN... it is soooo cool to be hanging with someone like Pat. He drives like that all the time. Hopefully we can come close again...

Ken & Christian did awesome- much better than us, as I found that bank...

We tried Hakka RSIs and Hakka Qs on the shake down, then stuck with RSIs for the whole rally. Nice tires, but we did have one de-bead and we were running them at 30psi at the time.

I think Shepard showed a higher level of unsportsman like conduct than people are letting onto here, but I wasn't there so I can't say for sure. The boo-ing and other words at the awards were amusing.

We didn't even stick around for the awards after we found out that they weren't giving out a trophy for 2nd place PGT for Sno regional rally.

Lame IMO...

Did you use tubes also? For the winter tires, we always use tubes as the sidewall is very soft (added protection)...

Robin
bjorn240 02-02-2005 01:22 PM

Robin, will you be at PN?

I'll be there in a coordinator role, probably mostly in the service area. Stop by the Vermont SportsCar service area and say hello if you get a chance.

Thanks,
- Christian
