ok, so now I I have an RS bumper skin and need a lip to even everything out.

So what do you think i should go with?

I was thinking Greddy.
SDscooby 11-02-2003 11:15 PM

westin_impreza 11-03-2003 12:15 AM

Do you have a picture?

My 2 picks: the P1 and the OEM GD front center lip without side fins. :alien:

People are talking about Griffin rear lip, but I can't find a pic of it anywhere?... can i see some pics?
westin_impreza 11-03-2003 03:01 AM

so you think the Prodrive lip would go well with the rest of my car?
Bobalouy 11-03-2003 10:03 AM

Effile will go pretty good with your sideskirts
quentinberg007 11-03-2003 12:36 PM

The greddy is the worst looking lip I've seen for the GC. It is fiberglass isn't it? If so, you are looking at the same results as your front bumper. I would go w/ a Ver. VI front lip. It is sturdy and it won't look terrible if you scrap it up a little bit (seeing as you have a black car)

how well would it hold up if i scraped something? how strong is CF? any fitment problems?
westin_impreza 11-05-2003 01:58 AM

Keith:

How much did you lower your car BTW?
moss 11-05-2003 04:36 PM

I scraped my lip a few times, fitment is OK, not great... How stong? really don't know! And how low... Uh too low :p Figure 1 finger gap up front, 1 and 1/2 in the rear... so 1.8in, 1.5in? Don't know, in that picture I'm on Tein HAs...

where do I find one of these?
moss 11-05-2003 07:11 PM

Well I have a used one for sale (sort of), it's a little damaged (scrapes, minor cracks, due to driving)... but other than that, AFS and expect to wait ~2-3 months right now, if they're even producing it.

westin_impreza 11-05-2003 07:19 PM

Selling one eh? Hmm Do you have good pictures of the damage?
moss 11-05-2003 07:24 PM

no, not at the moment, I can take pictures tonight... it's nothing really noticable, I've had to point out the cracks to many people. So they can't be that bad if I've had to point them out! Also, I dunno how the camera will pick up on them... PM me and we'll go from there... shipping might be the only hassle

Edit: Ok, I just tried taking pictures... I can't even get any of the cracks to show up, they're so minute, and the 2 scrapes on the bottom i can't get to show up either  I can show ya the pics but they're not going to show much...

Ok, one more, found some old pictures on my computer showing the cracks, still not that good, but alot better... LMK

I still think the greddy lip looks good with the C-west kit. Tell me what you think.

westin_impreza 11-06-2003 08:18 PM

how low does it hang in the front? I think I need something to balance out the c-west skirts.
RSEnigma 11-07-2003 09:13 AM

westin_impreza 11-07-2003 10:29 AM

Hows fitment?
Die Civic 11-07-2003 05:26 PM

Though I don't speak on behalf of everyone else, it really comes down to what you see as what looks best on your car. We're not the one's driving it. If you're asking for opinions on fitment and quality/material of products, then it also depends on what you use your car for, is it a garage queen? do you drive on rough roads? nice smooth roads? These sound like suspension questions but it does pertain to what type of front lip you have on the car.

As far as materials things are made of here's a little list.

C-west front lip - Polyurethane
Prova Front Lip - Polyurethane
Subaru STi V5/6 Lip - ABS Plastic
Subaru P1 Front Lip - Polyurethane
Greddy Front Lip - Polyurethane

Assuming these are all ORIGINAL pieces and not replicas, I know the prova fits perfectly with almost no gap (some what snug) the p1 fits perfectly, as well as the V5/6 front lips, I've either owned or sold all of those before and test fitted them as well. As for the cwest/greddy I cannot speak for because I have not seen it in person nor have I fitted them onto my car or anyone else's. I wouldn't suggest nor feel comfortable with putting CF on the lower front end of my car, but that's just me.

Hope this helps a little
westin_impreza 11-07-2003 06:28 PM

Thanks for the help, I don't think I could ever drop the $$$ to buy the Prova. I really like the P-1 and the V5/6 but I don't really know if the V5/6 would go with the style of my car.
