All 07's with ugly tail lights?
So I went to the dealership the other day to check out their new STi limited... couldnt help but notice that the tail light had a chrome housing instead of the dark grey housing... what is subaru thinking??!! Anyways, does anybody know if this is the same on all the new subs?
KnightWRX 09-03-2006 04:35 PM

not sure on the chrome.....
RP31 09-03-2006 05:56 PM

Is what you are describing the same as the '06 models?
Psybin 09-03-2006 07:34 PM

Look hard enough, leave notes on windshields and post in the regional forums. You will find a trade eventually.

It's well worth the effort. I'm loving mine.

I used BlueBatmobile overlays on my 06 to hide the chrome:

I'm talking about this bling, not the 06's... the pure rice tails on the 07 limited.... is this what all 07's will be like?

Drnkirishm 09-06-2006 12:15 PM

On the 07 STI Limited...
And I agree; tail lights do look to be more chrome this year. Bad move on Subaru's part if that's going all the way across the Impreza line, which it likely will.
Jonnyfilmboy 09-06-2006 06:23 PM

Wow, Subaru, hire a freakin designer. Who thinks up this crap?
M!key 09-06-2006 07:01 PM

it looks good on the pearl white.
ZACKARU 09-07-2006 01:43 PM

OooOOooo Sparkley Chrome. ESmooth, loving the batmobile rear covers! They sell them like that, or you cut them yourself...?
subieworx 09-07-2006 01:47 PM

You can take them apart and paint them. If you used the red "anodizing" paint from Autozone it would be a good match to the red on top and look very clean.

Not unless something has changed in the past year. Ive seen a few failed attempts at heating up the taillights in the oven, they arent quite as heat ready as the headlights I guess. If you could get it apart with an exacto knife or something of that nature, it would be a pretty sweet thing to do though...
Kenzo41587 09-07-2006 02:02 PM

Nah don't do it that way, go to Rockblocker because they have some really nice tinting.

I'm getting this one ^^^^
Dragicon 09-07-2006 10:21 PM

Tail light swap is the ONLY solution to this problem.... 04-05 tail lights FTW!

They are precut like the RockBlocker ones. I reccomend taking the tails off the car for install..makes it much easier.
ljaviation 09-07-2006 11:35 PM

Personal opinion.... '04,'05 tails> '02,'03,'06,'07.
Rockblocker/smoke effects not needed

It's possible that way. Evo and Tiburon tailights are constructed the same way and I have taken apart both of them. You do need an exacto knife or raxor blade to cut the glue apart. Not as easy as the headlights.
