JDM "bling" - SYMS grounding kit (56K no) part 1

JDM "bling" - SYMS grounding kit (56K no)
I finally got around to installing my new SYMS ground kit today. It looks pretty damn good. The battery is a tad cluttered, but I plan on installing some side posts on the Optima as well, in order to re-route some wires and clean it up a bit.

Once I finish the remainder of my under bonnet cosmetic mods, it should all pull together nicely (intake mani, radiator hoses, misc. ancillary hoses). I love the way it pops w/the TEIN coils, strut bar, and dampers too.

Enjoy!

Green is good!
fireball_jones 10-01-2006 04:01 PM

Does it says SYMS on it somewhere?

If not... how is it different than green wire with yellow ends?
GDB FAN 10-01-2006 04:04 PM

Green hotness!

ARC airbox would be sick. (green and red)

It is the SYMS kit directly from Japan. Picked it up from a shop in Japan.

I agree though, they just slapped their name on green wire and added basic yellow connectors. It probably grounds the same as any other kit out there. However to me, it's the premise that I was lucky enough to find a rare part that complimented by build.

BLING, that rocks, and so does your bay, right on!

looks great. +1 on the arc box and a green manifold (what color are you doing the hoses and ancillary kit?)
veightkiller 10-01-2006 10:29 PM

bauller!! looks nice though.

The ARC induction box is very difficult to tune with. I'm a big fan of the Typhoon. I just don't want to sacrifice performance for looks (in this case...lol).

I have an STi intake mani going on. Green would have been pretty sweet however! I think the red and green will go well in the end.

As for the hoses, it's top secret...hehe.

not really al red and green fan together, would look odd too with all the yellow that's already there. samco makes yellow hoses, but theyre this pale off yellow (think blaze as opposed to sonic). gl with the bay.

No way thats sick. I have to say for the price the $30 groudngin kit I made with amp wire does the trick for me but that is def money well spent for those that have it.

Samco makes green too. I looked into it to match my Syms grounding kit too. In the end I waited 8 weeks to get blue IC couplings from Samco in Europe. I can only imagine custom ordering the green version of them would take months.

Good choice on the red manifold. Green would be 'too' much. And quit thinking of all my ideas :) hehe. Glad to see someone else appreciate ultra JDM stuff.

When you picked up your stuff in Japan did they call it "Shims". Seriously it took me like 2 trips to Autobacs to understand why the guy didn't know Syms, but rather "Shims".

Nope, no "shims" here. I got lucky w/a guy who could speak super good engrish. I have seen the green Samco hoses, but they're more lime than Takata/Tein/Syms green.
jdmdave 10-02-2006 09:23 PM

nice green ftw
comradeboris 10-02-2006 09:34 PM

besides the bling factor did the grounding kit make any difference in the way the car drove or how electrical components acted?
phillepe 10-02-2006 10:36 PM

sooo much JDM there... that K&N almost hurts my feelings
chris-man 10-02-2006 11:22 PM

nice engine bay.

Well, my turbo started spooling at like 12mph. But other than that...nothing.
shemoves 10-03-2006 12:05 AM

Not a big fan of the green personally but it is different...so overall, well done :D
(u missed the alternator ground though)
wrxdrftr2002 10-03-2006 03:10 PM

does any one know wat grounding kit is the one that has the metal cove that goes over the washer resivor?? if so can someone please pm me wit the answer
BurtonCR 10-03-2006 04:01 PM

The blue one? Thats Sunauto Hot Inazama or something like that.
ghibli99 10-03-2006 04:09 PM

To the OP, that looks pretty good, but it's bit much, IMO... I really don't like the wire that goes in front and over your ARC pulley cover.

That's the CyberSpeed (Sun Auto) voltage kit, not the grounding kit.

Rice Devil 12-14-2006 03:42 AM
