Let's see your mudflaps!

Hey everyone! Im looking for a set of mudflaps, and Ive done some searches, but results have been few. SO, if anyone has mudflaps or just pictures of a wrx sedan with them it'd be greatly appreciated. And if you can throw in where you got em and $$.
| Unabomber | 09-29-2003 07:25 PM |
STi ones are around $300
Prodrive ones are around $250
European aero guards are around $200
RS ones that you modify to fit are around $75
Modified, DIY trucker's mats made to look like the STi ones are around $25
Search for pics, they are around, but the above is the summary of what you can do. The prices may be off somewhat, but they are fairly accurate or at least give you a ballpark idea of what you could spend.

Here are my flaps. $14.99 for Pepboys and do the job right. I would never justify spending over $50.00 on mudflaps but then again the prodrive name means a lot to some.
Anyway here you go.

easy installation and work great.

I have a set of Prodrive mudflaps (painted the backside to match the car) - they definitely aren't the cheapest way to go, but they fit perfectly, and look like they belong there, and aren't just an afterthought (with mudflaps, I think you have two things to worry about form and function - the function part can be had very very cheaply, but if you want them to look good, it's not cheap)
Bought them from Arne at www.subietech.com - there are a couple of pics there (he can send you more) - if you do a search for "prodrive mudflaps" on this site, you will get a bunch of pics, too. They cost $196 shipped - the painting was another $98 at a local shop.
If you send me your email, I can email you a pic of my silver wagon (don't have a place to host pics)

Transplanted from a Subaru GL (price depends on quote from salvage yards / eBay seller). Has the older "4wd" logo instead of the "awd".

Hey thechckencow, your flaps not only look the best to me, but also look like the most functional. Did you make them your self, or where did you get them? And I'm looking for a set for a wagon. Thanks!

M32WRXin3seconds is the user name. He sells a lot of stuff in the "Private For Sale" section.... not a noob question... just a poorly explained post on my part.

I have front flaps from Vacanza... Subaru specific and a very nice, true red color. Came as all four but I just used the front ones. They've been on my car for two years and look EXACTLY like they did the day I bought them. My car is low enough that when I turn hard at relatively low speed the outside one will touch the ground... I was going to trim them but figured they would take care of themselves and just wear away... nope! They're super durable! Just the front ones made a HUGE difference in how clean my car stays though!!! and it looks great.
These are really old pics... about 2 yrs... check out www.EJ20Legacy.tk for somewhat newer ones :), but no flaps visible in those I don't think...

I'm not sure where you can get Vacanza stuff anymore... I got 'em from Cobb when they were having a garage sale, maybe they can point you the right way...

Imho it would be tricky to keep the paint stick on such a flexible and frequently flexed material. The letters in the GL flaps I use are somewhat recessed from the material (similar to embossed paper).

I had to drill holes and mount these myself, but they work great as you can see... no mud splashes on the car, only dust!
