Replica -STI "V" Lip Spoiler??

Does anyone make a Replica STI "V" limited front lip spoiler? It's [B]just[/B] plastic (ABS maybe?)... There has gotta be someone who can make it at the same quality for less than $470.

Tru Performance makes a replica. King of Imports ([url]www.kingofimports.com[/url]) did the group buy a while ago, but you can still get it from them. Check with them.

Problem is the Tru Performance fiberglass lips aren't much cheaper than the original. Their CF version is about the same price as the STi V Limited.
I would like a lower cost V Limited replica too, preferably made of something that would survive a scrape or two (i.e. not fiberglass or CF).

Yea, just saw the TRU lip on King of Imports site. Looks like it's some sort of fiberglass reinforced plastic that is supposedly less prone to dings than the OEM STI "V" lip. However, I don't know how you'd "ding" a piece of plastic.. scrape yes, but ding?
And the cost factor is still there. The piece is around $420 shipped which is still too much IMHO. The Carbon Fiber version is around $700.

i've got this on my car, in fact my car was the test bed for it when if first arrived, the blue wrx, anyhow, my issue right now is finding a way not to scrape it besides my driving habits, i've thought about using some rubber tape compounds to tape underneath it as i'm also running the Version08 JDM pink springs.
my other concern about this lip is that its FRP, and the JDM is ABS which is a lot more flexible, so we'll see....
if this was produced here in the states i would see this piece going for about $200 max, as the brits have this piece for about this price but unfortunately the exchange rates are tooo dramatic hence the price....

the genuine v lip is soooo thin and fragile thats the only reason y i would consider buying the knock off, but yea the price of the knock of is alot.

Agree with you all guys. The reason why I want a lip on my 03 WRX is to avoid another sleepless night which was the result of scraping the right corner of my front bumper!!! But the V limited only fits on 04 STI's so anyone else is limited to the TRU. However, on top of the price (which is pretty high), I may have to add another 30-50% for delivery to Australia!!! which makes the thing something like 700 aussie bucks!!! and I tell you I can do much more with that 700 bucks such as an original STI painted rear spoiler!!!

Eric, if you really think about it, could you see spending $450 on something other than a piece of plastic that goes along the bottom of your bumper?
The Greddy front lip costs half that and IMO looks way better anyways, especially if the V-limited lip doesn't even match the color of the car. Sorry, I just can't see spending that kind of money on something like that.

I need to know for sure that this lip will fit my wrx before I make the purchase. I don't want the TRU because it is fiberglass. To bad these lips are not made of urathane.

V-limited is definately worth the money!!!
Went auto-x with my friend who has a Greddy lip spoiler.
That day we both hit cones, his blew up into several pieces.
Nothing happened to mine (very durable)

There used to be a vendor on ebay that sold replica V1 lips for WRX's. No need to buy the STi splitters, it fit on OEM 04+ WRX's. It was $250 I think buy it now priced. Fiberglass though. I will never buy fiberglass body kits. Too fragile.

Agree! The V-limited is really durable. I've hit 2x4's on the freeway and all sorts of stuff. still on there. did have some damage to the lip (pissed the hell out of me), but much more durable than any other lip spoiler out there. If hit, fiberglass will crack.
I just figure if your gonna get a lip spoiler. it's gonna be hard as hell to keep that thing cherry. Sooner or later your gonna get a scratch or ding.

its supposed to be FRP, Fiber Reinforced Plastic, supposed to be very strong, much so then the 'fragile' abs sti lip, who knows, or so i'm told, its still FBG and will still crack though.... the UK FRP is just as strong if not sttronger then the japanese FRP
