well the veilside isnt really r*ce cause technically its a functional piece. iirc they used a wind tunnel to help design the thing
bratmantlz 07-14-2001 06:52 PM

:D :D :D

How much low down can you do on that thing to make it drivable in real life?

Yes - plus it also transforms into a robot.

Dori Dori 07-16-2001 10:46 AM

The rear and side skirts I like, some, but unless that gaping front bumper hole is full of intercooler, your just giving your self weekend work picking out the bugs from the raditor.

Better yet it looks like one of those whales that skims plankton out of the ocean. It should be painted greenish blue and have the apppropreiate whale mating sounds playing through the stereo.....aaaarrrrroooooooaaaaaaarrrrrrrraaaaaahhh :D

That's a Basking Shark - a Fish.
Not a Whale.

...as if we all care...

The C-West kit has not been mentioned here, but it "looks" nice. Even just the lip-spoiler looks attractive.

I think all of those cars were featured in the rice-flick, "Fast and Furious".

Why are we using * to cover up the word Rice? Why mince words - call a spade a spade. That Veilside kit is unnecessarily sculpted What part of that is more functional than the OEM bumper cover? Try blazing through the Swedish Rally with that kit. Those running bhind you will thank you for grooming the track, I bet.

...I feel flame coming upon me... (jump into flame-retardant suit)

YES YES YES!!!! that orange one is the rice i've been looking for!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i can now show my friends how dumb it looks!!!! ahahhahahahahahah

thx
SuBart 07-17-2001 02:35 AM

You guys must be getting or are really old if you don't think that orange Impreza is like one of the Hottest things you've ever seen. The front is arguable but the side and rear are off the hook.
MGXsport 07-17-2001 02:42 AM

Like the side but kinda like the rear. I don't really like the trunk and bumber to be close to flush with each other IMO.

Pesca 555, that's the animal I was thinking of but couldn't remember which species it was. However, I do think there are some whales that could at least approximate the gaping mouth look. Plus they eat plankton too. Close enough for the eye club, especially since you knew what I meant.

Bob
Pesca 555 07-17-2001 03:20 PM

The mouth...

Bob, I knew exactly what you meant, but I couldn't resist giving you a good ribbing. :)

Actually, the kit looks like all of us, when we first saw the kit. Jaw dropped to the ground...

The diffuser looking fins on the rear skirt probably reduces the departure angle a LOT, thus defeating the purpose of an off-road vehicle... Not to mention the ugly scraping of fiberglass as you go up a steep driveway... "Fast and Furious" my a$$ - more like "Riced and Rediculous"...

Gawd, that bigger-than-it-needs-to-be opening is silly. Why try to make a Sube look like a BNR32 (Skyline)? Definition of rice: "making a car look like somethin' it ain't, and believing it's somethin' it ain't"... :D

I "am" older, so maybe it gives me some credit to be cynical  If you want sculpted, wind-tunnel-tested, FUNCTIONAL & JUSTIFIED aero kits, look into buying a Ferrari (the F40LM, Mythos, and F50 comes to mind) or a MacLaren. The Carrera GT looks, and IS functional. Veilside (as funky and cool as it looks), is rediculously ...ahnevermind.

Oh, another phrase to keep in mind before you flame me for criticizing (I'm ot saying that they are bad, mind you - it's a matter of personal taste) aero kits...

"Opinions are like a$$holes. Everyone has one, and they stink".
jaybird 07-17-2001 04:19 PM

I kinda like the paint, but that's about it. IIRC that car was featured in MAX Power around Xmas or so. IIRC it has like 500hp.
WorldRallyRedneck 07-17-2001 10:41 PM

Looks okay, but definetly not functional, I live back in the woods too many dirt roads with potholes that bumper wouldnt last 5 minutes. I tried to go to veilside.com but that wild intro on the site gave me a illegal operation error every time i tried it. As soon as it started rumbling i got an error and got shut down. I really wanted to see if they had any kits a little more practical.
