DILLIGAF Racing 10-20-2006 04:14 PM
I'll join, how many private games can you get going at the same time?

Davis, want to partner up? :)
You can do 2 Private games at once, unless you have KOOL tools.
Are we going to do another one when this is over? Hopefully a F1 2002 / 06 cause this aussie v8 was not enjoyable to say the least.
I sure hope so, I'm thourougly addicted to this game now. :)
You can do 2 Private games at once, unless you have KOOL tools.
Thanks! How many can you do with KT? May have to pony up for KT soon so I can get the additional information you get from them.

I think 4. Everything I have heard about KT, is its not worth the $20. Unless they improved things
Patrick Olsen 10-20-2006 06:54 PM

DILLIGAF and cdvma have already PM'd me. A few of you expressed interest, please PM me if you want in.

As for Kool Tools, I think it's definitely worth the $20. Can you accomplish the same stuff without it? Sure. Is it a helluva lot easier to set your car up referencing your teammate's settings with Kool Tools? Yes. Is it a helluva lot easier to adjust for changing weather conditions with Kool Tools? Yes.
DILLIGAF Racing 10-20-2006 07:02 PM

I've thought about buying it, but EVERYONE I ask about, tells me don't bother. Maybe someday.
drees 10-25-2006 04:28 AM

So now that Powers and my plans for world domination have been destroyed, when does our next chance to attempt world domination start? :) What series?
Patrick Olsen 10-25-2006 11:59 AM

There are still seats available in the V8 series that we're going to get started over on corner-carvers.com. It's up to 18 players now, including a few of you monkeys from NASIOC. If anyone else wants in just PM me.

The V8 series just finished up. If anyone wants in on the next corner-carvers.com private game we're shifting to A1GP (which I've never tried before).
Players will need to be registered and logged in before they can enter the private game. When logged in, clicking the following URL will take you to the join game page:

http://batracer.com/-cj?&D&9768

Alternativly, you can select "private games" from the menu and enter the number "9768" into the box. The game password is "Carver". Take care not to accidentally join a public game by mistake.
I've already joined as the United Nations team, so none of the rest of you can have it! Mwahahahahaaa!

I signed up under New Zealand. My first A1GP series, too, should be interesting!
cdvma 12-18-2006 06:56 PM

I'd do the A1 series (I enjoyed the last one) but I'm going to be ex communicato for a while in the middle of the series so its not worth it :(

Need more drivers!!! We're at 10 right now, we'd like to have 20 to start the season. None of the 3 people on my team have any experience in Champ Car, so don't be afraid about getting your ass kicked in this game.

Join us!

Since this originated as an Aussie V8 thread, I figured this would be a good place to post my lastest exploits...

I just capped off my finest season yet - a come-from-behind Driver's Championship decided in the final race. :D This was in an Aussie V8 champion's league game, so a pretty competitive bunch, which makes me all the more proud of the accomplishment. Not that it's really an accomplishment as much as just staying on the good side of the good/bad luck see-saw as the season wound down.

Here's the season points standings...

Note that at no point was I ever in the lead until the final race. Early in the season I was fast, but was often on the bad side of the good/bad luck see-saw - driver errors, collisions, crappy pit stops, whatever. In the early going I was down in mid-pack in the standings. Halfway through the season I had 4 podiums, 3 retirements, and an average finishing position of 14th (counting retirements as finishing 31st). Not so good, but I had moved up to 8th overall. Meanwhile, Yamin and Koon (the guys who finished 2nd and 3rd in the Driver's) were pretty much running away with the championship. They both did really well at Sandown, and the two of them had a lead of over 300pts on everybody else. I was 441pts back in 6th. Fortunately for the rest of the players, both Yamin and Koon retired from Bathurst, and my teammate won, so he was now in nearly a dead heat with Yamin and Koon and the rest of the top players were within striking distance. After Bathurst my poor teammate completely fell off the good/bad luck see-saw, retiring from 7 of the last 12 races (after retiring from 3 of the first 22!), so he ended up all the way back in 11th.

I climbed into 2nd at Symmons Plain #3, so I thought I had a shot at Yamin, but then I retired from Bahrain #2. Based on Yamin's generally good record for completing races (only 2 retirements in the first 32 races) I didn't think there was much chance of catching him. But wait! He retired at the Penultimate race, while I took 3rd, pulling me to within only 45pts heading into the Final race. I started well ahead of him at the Final race (P6 for me, P19 for him), and I had to beat him by 12 spots to take the Driver's. The Safety Car came out on lap 3, and I pitted on lap 4, but he didn't ( - in a sprint race you always pit if the SC comes out!), so I figured I was looking damn good at that point. But, I still had my fingers crossed, and sure enough it paid off. On lap 21 of 31 Yamin dropped out with a transmission problem, and I finished 4th. Hooray! Hooray! :D

That's now 2 public V8 games started, and 2 Driver's Championships won. I think I need to retire from Aussie V8s while I'm on top!

I still don't understand how to be good a Aussie V8, I'm just terrible. I prefer f12002/06. 1986 isn't so fun because all you have to do is be williams and get a 100% setup.

Are we going to get a new game going when the new carsets are released?
Patrick Olsen 03-09-2007 02:49 PM

If anyone wants in to another private game, I joined an F1-06 game that someone had advertised in a public game I'm in.

Private ID#: 11536
Password: setupwizard

I'm already paired up with a teammate (who may be an idiot based on his initial car tuning skills, we'll see....), but there are 3 teams that are empty, so we've been sitting with 16 of 22 drivers for the past couple days. My brother, Mike, has established the Super Aguri team but still needs a teammate I think. Anyone want in?

So, the above game barely got off the ground before being cancelled by the game's creator, who appeared to be bat**** crazy. You should have seen the stuff he was posting in Driver Chat, just flat out nuts.

I revolted (about 6hrs before he had the game deleted) and created my own private game. If anybody wants in on an F1-2006 game just drop me a PM. We're at 10 players now, so I need to get some more people.

AshyLarry 03-16-2007 02:38 PM

I'm in, Pm'ing you know.

Btw, have you guys tried Le mans yet? Its great, I have a GT3 in the gt series. Its a lot of fun. The super seven on the other hand is frustration like v8 supercars....
Patrick Olsen 03-16-2007 02:59 PM

I haven't tried LeMans yet, I'm sure I will in the near future. I sent you a PM with the signup info for the F1-06 game.

AshyLarry 03-23-2007 01:53 PM

Anyone want to do a private 2007 game?
Patrick Olsen 03-23-2007 09:51 PM

Ashy - I'm signed up for a private 2007 game that's waiting for 2 last players. Try sending a PM to Kelvin Chan asking to be let in - tell him you know me. I guess it's a continuing series (which I just joined), similar to the idea of the F1-06 game that I joined with the crazy bastard. The game is listed as "Speed Forum Challenge #7", so they've been doing this for a while.
