Just got some new P21S body work shampoo and I love it. I am amazed at its ability to clean while preventing scratching and wax removal. I think it has also helped to bring out some of the darker color in my paint as it seems much deeper lately.
Although the bottle I got was small, you only need 2 capfulls of concentrate to do a whole wash. I have used NXT, Crystal Wash, Blue Coral, and this is by far my favorite so far

Once I pay off all the bills, I'm going to be switching over the Zaino line of products ;)
I've read nothing but good things about'em. Meguires gold does a great job now and I love it, but if I could get better... why not? :D

i use all the Shining Monkey products and they are awesome! i love the car wash, smells like bubble gum and is real sudsy and smooth. clay bar is great, super thick, really soft and lasts forever. i was using the meguiars professional line before this.

Ok, so where in SoCal can I pick up some Meguires NXT? Pepboys, Autozone, someplace else?
Also, what shops stock 303 products?
I just came back from a roadtrip w/ the new car so it's time for a serious clean.

I have heard that Mothers sucks, well really just their entry level nonprofessional stuff. Their professional division rocks I guess.
I just looked up some Meguiars stuff trying to get a full makeover using their professional line as much as I could. For ~$45 I can get Accent Dressing (10oz), Gold Class Rich Leather Foam Cleaner/Conditioner (10oz), Hi-Tech Wash (16oz), Hi-Tech Yellow Wax (16oz), and Show Car Glaze (16oz).
There's so many waxes/polishes/detailers I have no idea what is really needed. I used to always think it was just wash and wax but I think I have it covered. Wash (High-Tech Wash), wax (High-Tech Yellow Wax), detail (Show Car Glaze). The only reason I'm considering getting all that is just so people can be amazed and then I tell them I can do their car too, for only half the price of a professional detailer!
I just found this too. For the price it can't be beat but I'm not sure how well the wash and wax standout. popcrux, you have to check out Super Autobachs in Stanton. It's at Beach and the 22...half the stuff they have isn't even in English...lol....think JDM...and lots of silly rice, but definitely a rad store.

Meguires Soft Wash Gel. Its red in a clear bottle. One little bottle lasts me a LONG time.

used to use meguiar's, until a friend talked me into stripping my wax with dish soap and helped me apply a few coats of zaino
no comparison.....zaino wins hands down on my WRB car!

I'm all about pinnacle body shampoo. It works great, doesn't strip the wax at all, and smells like coconut. kind of expensive, but worth it IMO.

I know we're talking about exteriors right now, but what about interiors? Things to wipe down your plastic and do the glass? I know that 303 products are considered high quality, I just have no idea where to get them.
| shemoves | 06-21-2005 01:01 AM |
I dont trust any of the interior "protectants" I just use a damp rag.

Like someone mentioned, a damp microfiber works great for wiping the dash and glass. Protect with 303 once in a while and you're set. You can get 303 at Camping World and also Super Autobacs if you're in socal. The 303 website might have a store locator.
Eh, Blue Coral or something like that. As far as I can tell, carwash soap is all the same. It's the drying and waxing/polishing that make the difference.
I had a rebate on that stuff, and that's what i'm currently using. and i couldn't agree more. carwash soap is carwash soap, people.
always wash with two buckets and wash from the top down.

I use whatever I have around. Lately it's been Eagle One. I love the stuff because it's easy to rince off, doesn't make a ton of unnecessary suds and foam. Most important thing with car wash is the slickness or lubricity of the product. Sure you want some suds. But do you really want to be spraying out every nook and cranny forever, while making more suds when you are trying to get all the soap off?
Repeated use of dish soap will dry out the rubber seals around your windows, lights, ect. Only use it when your intention is to strip all the wax off the paint.
