Does anyone know the schedule for the Challenge at Ripken, MD this Saturday? When is registration/tech, course open for walking, etc? There is nothing on the Web site or MyAutoEvents.

Hey now, me any my RE92s are gonna have a fun time tomorrow :) Just remember squeal is good, squall is bad. I just bought some "Max Velocity" energy drink so that should make me 5 seconds faster... at least. **** ****, I need to be up in 6 hours.

Great time despite the rain. Glad I ran 4th heat. Grats to the top 5 in each and the "top dog"... It was nice meeting new people too including the guy in the black WRX wagon in ESP.. Hope I didnt slow you down too much by running before you. And the first time I've had fun working the course... 2nd heat Pole 10 rulez :P

Cost of entry: $35 (I think)
Other things that might have cost money: $xx
Winning SM in the oldest, highest mileage (rolled 175,000mi on the way home), lowest powered (naturally-aspirated, baby!), probably smallest tired car in the 28-competitor SM field: Priceless!
Lots o' fun out there today, and even the weather decided to cooperate - eventually. Hope those of you who came from far, far away have/had a safe trip back home.

Pat-
Nice driving today. I'm always impressed that you can lay-the-smack-down on so many cars in SM. I should have done better in STU but 2nd isn't too bad. Fun as always! Thanks for the co-drive Car vs Driver (Dave). Nice to meet some more NASIOC peeps too.

Would your car have been any better, Dave? I don't know how yours compares to the other Dave's as far as STU prep goes.
And thanks for the compliments. You ain't half bad yourself! :) I've commented in other threads that it's disheartening to run well in SM, and then see you and Mike Neary running times right on top of mine - on street tires!

I think Nates car would have been a little better but not by much. I think that the biggest problem with the tire/wheel combo we are running is the f-d up offset wheels that Nate bought. The from CE-28N wheels are 17x9, which is great but the offset is 35mm. We run a staggered track by using 17x8 wheels in the rear with a 45mm or 48mm offset. That puts us 20mm+ up front. I am NOT convinced that this is the way to go right now. I think a lower offset is needed in the front to maintain better steering feel. The front plants and then slides in a strange way before the weight transfers fully in the rear of the car. I believe that is part of my problem with sweepers, steady state push owns me. I think of I could set the car up from the very start it would be MUCH faster but it's not my car.

Everyone gets a free spectator, and I was told additional spectators can get in. I've heard free, as well as $5... and a quick search of subaruchallenge.com didn't provide any results.
btw, it's 6:44... and FloridaSubarus.com is ready :disco:

Anyone can spectate for free, they will just need to sign the waiver to enter the event grounds. Participants may bring 1 guest who will also get a catered lunch at the event included in the entry fee.
btw, it's 8:36... and I just posted todays event results to www.SubaruChallenge.com :)
