Dude everyone is giving you a hard time because they think its ricer-ish. True it falls underneath the category of rice, but its really your car and no one elses. Half the people on this forum have rice mods or used to think they are cool.
What I'm trying to say is that everyone has different opinions about everything.
For example: cf hoods, lips, engine dress up hoses, angled front plates, bov, and other crap.
I see this crap on many many subarus everywhere. Its all rice, but doesn't mean people don't enjoy them.
BOV's aren't legal in ca(right?) and they jack up your car, but I hear them on lots of subies.
CF hoods make you slower(because they are heavier), but I see them on lots of subies.
A front lip is for looks only and its freakishly expensive IMO.
The hose kit may be because it is sturdier, but most of the time its for looks.
Also the front angled plate is useless. Its suppose to direct more air to the FMIC, but I've mostly seen them on TMIC.
Put it on if you like it and do it right the first time. Don't let anyone bring you down since its YOUR CAR. If you get a ticket then you decide if its worth it. Just like how many people get ticketed for a loud exhaust. They have to decide whether they still want it on there.
Sometimes nasioc user(all of human kind) get really smug. But they mean well...I think

but none the less im not gonna sell my rims, so any ideas for my engine that you have? i mean ill consider it and do some reasearch[/QUOTE]
I don't think the 2.5 was really built for SPEED. IMO the best spent money on your car would be suspension:) . That can be one sweet handling car if you play all your cards right. Do your research(all the time) and you'll really enjoy it. Going fast in a straight line should be left to american cars. I bet you'll have more fun making your car ride the twisties then trying to drag it

and btw, i already bought some swifts for my suspension but i havent put them on myself yet
i wanted to get a sway bar, but sadly i am but 16 and my dad wont let me buy one because it promoted oversteer and the thinks ill crash
sucks

i recently went to a subie meet and while in the twisties, was actually puling away from cars that had more hp, but less handling abilities. thats where i started and where i'd suggest you start to. i just think underneons should be kept to the show cars and if thats where you want to go with her, then by all means.

yeah dude im not really a person made for actually racing the car, i mean, yes i would like it to be a fast car
its like this, my obsession for cars goes like a coin:
one side is fast/racing/DRIFTING/ and so on
the other side is Show Cars
so basically what im aiming for i suppose is a bit of both

To whomever said green would be legal WRONG... Green is the light Fire Chiefs use, so you can't have green neon, unless you are a fire chief... LOL....
Ok, dude is 16, he is here, we should try to help. Here are a few tips.
1. Chrome is BAAAD. It is heavy and will lose you performance.
2. Invest in your suspension and autocross all the time as much as you can, by the time you are 18 you will be a much better driver and ready for some power.
3. Read Subiesport, it is the best magazine EVARHHH!!! Plus reading this magazine will grow your chonch 10 inches and all the HS girlies will love you long time for quoting witty exceperts from it.
4. Eat some vegtable, it good for you.
5. Never street race, street racing shrinks your chonch and makes all the HS girlies cry
6. Eat some more vegatable, remember, it good for you...
7. Did I say read Subiesport already? If not do it, who doesn't like HS girlies...
8. Lightweight rims, 17in with sticky tires will make you roxsor
9. JDM is cool but YouDM is better... remember that and write it all over you math book.
10. Learn to drive.
now go grasshopper, and learn to be truley hawtness without wasting your hard earned allowance on lame as crap like neon, chrome and Zima.

if he doesn't want you to have oversteer, get a 20mm rear bar and a 22mm front. it'll keep things flat but make sure that oversteer doesn't happen. be careful though, only the 22mm nonadjustable whiteline fsb and the IPD fsb will fit your headers and crossmember, and you don't want to be switching those out any time soon.
CF hoods are heavier than wrx hoods if they're wet-laid- dry carbon that's hand laid is less weight, and since your RS hood is steel and not aluminum, virtually any CF hood will be lighter.
swift springs are great but are you ever going to want to adjust your ride height? maybe you should think about a good (more than $1,400) adjustable coilover suspension...
drifting? if you're really interested in drifting you either need to move the hell out of san jose and get to somewhere where it will snow year round, or get a different car. your subaru's AWD simply has too much traction to drift. if you really want to drift, you should get a different car- and your dad will have to deal with it because if you drift, you crash. there's no way around that.
you're young, you have time to figure this out. i was like you once. just don't waste too much money in the mean time.

good advice, and funny too. i will miss eugene's awesomer population this summer.
subiesport is great, but grassroots motorsports is even better and since you're young you should try to learn about all cars, not just subies.
pick up a GRM and study it in homeroom.

the hood sounds like a good idea, ill consider that
and the front and rear sway bars sound better then what i had mind so ill consider that one too
and yes MeanEditor, i do know Crome = bad, and yes i will get right on reading subiesport and eating my vegies

since you asked, i am a very very undisciplined college student, and stay up way way too late.
i love subarus and can go months without posting, but usually choose not to. with ethernet access free, it's easy to get sucked in. i plan on graduating in less than a year from now, that will be a lifestyle change that should bring up some interesting questions about how much time and energy i put onto this pretty little site.
there are a very VERY few select individuals that work for nasioc... Nick is member number 2 and he's the only one who's really an actual full-time employee, since he's the owner. admins and moderators 'work' for nasioc in some ways, but they seldom ever get paid unless they do coding or other types of work. the technical and institutional side of nasioc is a very secretive and dark underbelly that few ever get to glimpse:lol:
seriously though, everyone who you talk to is here because they love subarus or want to know more about them. no one gets paid for posting:p
that or they're trying to sell you something, and better damn well have vendor membership:lol:
