Tailight covers for wagons available yet? Specifically for a 2004..............
west 03-20-2005 07:15 PM

Dam. So I should have pulled the vinyl alot harder past the split so it is stretched beond the edge much further so when cut the split is no longer there?!!!! I wonder if I can go back and do this after 2 weeks. I might as well since the rain today caused my problem side over the blinker bump to lift again. I might just buy new ones and try again. What do you think hotsubaru.com guys? This is only a problem on the one side, the other side is perfect accept for the split that I didn't stretch out.
Dam I am a nob...........
Tailight covers for wagons available yet? Specifically for a 2004..............
Yes, as of today we now have 04/05 Impreza WAGON tails too

Due to the round bump out being steeper it is slightly harder to install than the 04/05 sedan version, which are a bit harder than the 02/03's. Patience and a hair dryer and you are good.

that's sick. sold.
bluerex47 03-23-2005 11:37 PM

I would like to see more pics of the yellow and a couple of the blue. THose seem to be a little less abundant then smoked pictures. It would really help my decision on which to get.

mmm you sold me. Thanks guys, I'll be ordering from ya soon!
Damon 03-24-2005 12:06 PM

the HID blue is niiiice. i dont think i would like anything that reduces light output though... kinda defeats the purpose of having bright headlights.
Subaru of Plano 03-24-2005 12:23 PM

The HID Blue shines through bright white! with no visible loss in light output. In fact it looked a bit brighter white when we did a side by side with an unprotected lens during testing. Maybe the eye dyno effect!

In any case the HID Blue looks HOT in person. We have installed a bunch of them locally but we are having technical difficulties with the two shop cameras so we couldn't get photos...

Is this correct or did I miss something?

Subaru of Plano 03-28-2005 06:29 PM

West, yes you should have joined both sides of the relief together on the back side of the turn signal wart as explained on page 2 of this thread. As far as lifting and re-sticking goes, I would assume that the adhesive will not be happy if you try it. You might be able to soften the adhesive with a dab of mineral spirits, flush with warm water and heat with the hairdryer - but no guarantees as it is far past its typical working range.
west 03-28-2005 07:16 PM

Ok point taken. I will live with what I have for now but if it unsticks again I may try streching it some. Thank you for the cool light covers guys! Fast free shipping too....
If I didnt already say it.

hotsubaru.com guys

I got the gt yellow fog light covers, and really dig 'em. I was curious if you had any pics of the gt yellow headlight covers on a 04 plus rex?

Awesome shipping response, and it was suprisingly easy to install.
Peace
Subaru of Plano 04-05-2005 06:28 PM

npreston, sorry no photo's of an 04+ with our yellow covers as of yet. I know we had several orders for them over the weekend, so perhaps one of them will post up some photos soon.

Be sure to check out our new site http://www.hot-subaru.com !!

Any pics of this on a black car yet? Just wondering. :)

Once I get my car fixed from my accident and I get my headlight replaced, I figured after I cleared my lenses I'd paint the housing black (to get the "smoked" look). But this could be another alternative. I'm not sure I'm sold yet, tho. :/ Still wanna see this on a black car.
npreston 04-07-2005 09:22 PM

Just got the gt yellow covers yesterday. I was a little sceptical at first, but i REALLY like the way they turned. I've had them on less than 24 hours, and i've ALREADY recieved alot of complimants, looks, and double takes. I also like the way the headlights project the yellow beam at night. Very cool. Awesome shiping time hot-subaru dudes, awesome service. I'd recommend these to anyone, although, installation was a little more difficult than i thought it would be. Excellent product for sure. Peace.

HotSubaru---just a thought, maybe create a list of shops that could do the installs of these covers. The 04-05 is absolutely brutal.
Subaru of Plano 04-07-2005 10:41 PM

npreston those look GREAT! Did you pick up a set of our wagon tails too?

There are a set of step by step directions on page two of this thread. Any shop that installs auto vinyl shouldn't have too much trouble with these, same goes for tints and clear bra installers for those of you who don't want to do the install yourself.

Thanks, i think they look good too. I haven't got the tails yet, one thing at a time, as my wife says.

I'll post pics of my Java Black with light smoke as soon as it warms up enough to do the install.

How critical is it to be the recommended 60 degrees outside?
enewtabie 04-08-2005 12:11 PM

Just ordered the HID Blue for my 02 JDMs.I will post some pics once I get them on.

Due to the contours of the lens, warmer outside is always better. However heating the material with a hairdryer is almost a must no matter what temp your garage is. Read over the step-by-step instructions on the previous page a few time before you start and take your time with the install. Oh and keep in mind that you are always in control :) Good Luck!
