wagon aftermarket parts "poll" part 1

wagon aftermarket parts "poll"

Well, not really a poll, but briefly write what you would definitely or probably get. The purpose of this is to show that there is demand for product.

What items would you wagon owners like to see offered more:

front lips
rear lips
flares
rear wing
full body kits
A pillar pods
STi rear seat
anything I forgot

Basically, what would you truly be interested in buying. STi V2 lip will be produced by Gruppe-s, but maybe they could offer a V1 lip if there is enough interest since the molds should be essentially the same (just no brake vents).

1. Flares - definitely
2. A pillar pod - definitely, unless I break down and get a different style in the meantime.
3. front lip - maybe
I drive a WRX wagon 10-26-2002 02:34 AM

Styling wise, id like to see more front lip options and a different style rear wing.
mlambert 10-26-2002 04:19 PM

the more options for the wagon the better
MrWRX2 10-26-2002 04:28 PM

Full body kit...
rdebow 10-26-2002 04:44 PM

As mentioned before, more front lips. Plus front lips that look good by themselves and not needing to have to add a complete bodykit with it to make it looked balanced.

I was thinking of getting the liberal front lip but I don't know if would look good with painted factory sideskirts or if it would like a giant snowplow at the front of the car.:p

I would also like to see more dealers selling the U.K. body kit and front lip. It seems like there are only a select few that can get them and everyone else just don't seem to care.

There seems to be a huge demand for wagon body parts based on what I see on I-Club, but it appears the wagon plays second fiddle when it comes to body parts since the sedan seems to main focus of the aftermarket companies and dealers. They can get you STI sedan front lips both versions all day but if you want the STI(U.K.) Front lip for the WRX wagon they will say they are working on it, but aren't they coming from same place they order from in Japan?

So yes, more options of front lips and Iwouldn't mind some tastefully done fender flares (colormatched to the car) that are similiar to the that STI WRX wagon that had carbon fiber body kit, wing and fender flares.

If Gruppe-s does produce those replica front lips I would be very interested.

Richard.
amitofu 10-26-2002 05:44 PM

I want all of these (except maybe the rear wing [hmmm... I wonder what my car would look like without a wing]). I specifically want an STi v.2 lip. Though I will buy whatever lip Gruppe-S makes. I like the v.1 lip but I don't want to sacrifice the brake vents.

I AGREE!!! A nice prodrive style front lip and a WRC style rear wing. Any fender flares should follow the arches of the wheel wells and integrate a nicely styled side skirt.

I'm looking forward to see what Kaminari does for the wagon.

A V2 lip would be nice too. The Liberal kit is too low and the UK lip just doesn't do it for me.

I second the pillar pod...I really need one!
Rocket Wagon 10-29-2002 04:52 PM

I would LOVE the V2 lip, as long as the price is AT LEAST 1/2 of the real deal.

I've been trying to picture a WRC rear wing on the top of a wagon. Is there something I'm not getting with that one? I'm thinking that would look a little funny unless there is a different WRC wing made for wagons that I've never seen.
PPower 10-30-2002 11:06 PM

I thought that this thread might be a little more popular. I'm sure that many wagon people just didn't see the thread, but no wonder we don't get parts just for us.:(
Frederf 10-31-2002 01:00 AM

I'll take some fender flares shaped like the WRC car.
Rocket Wagon 10-31-2002 09:16 AM

Since wagons present their own set of problems/solutions, why isn't there a wagon forum?
b1207 10-31-2002 10:41 AM

I am considering either the WRX sedan or wagon. The wagon seems like it would offer a great combination of room and performance. I have just started looking but can't seem to find any body kits for the wagon, everything seems like it is oriented to the sedan. Where would you suggest looking for body and styling kits for the wagon? Thanks for helping a newbie.
Rocket Wagon 10-31-2002 11:26 AM

I chose of wagon for 2 reasons: Space and looks. Call me crazy but I'm nuts for wagons. I also liked the 98-01 Volvo V70R wagon but heard the AWD systems longevity is questionable. Otherwise I would've taken it. Of course an S4 Avant if I had the dough.

Anyhoo, the wagon is great and offers a lot of flexibility. The aftermarket troubles it has are that its taller (by like an inch) and narrower front and back (by 20mm). So A pillar gauge pods don't fit because they were designed for the sedan and so are most body kits. Your best bet is to check out vividracing.com bodykit section. There are quite a few for the wagon but $$$ is an issue. Procarparts.com has a replica UK front lip for the wagon that is actually really good in quality and fit, but you have to like that lip first. Other than that everything else fits: sideskirts, grills, headlights, etc.
BlkRexWagon 10-31-2002 04:40 PM

I vote for more full body kit options, or at least the UK pieces at a more reasonable price.
Rocket Wagon 10-31-2002 04:59 PM

I don't know about better prices on the UK stuff. Look at what the OEM lip for the sedan costs in the US!
tuca33 11-01-2002 01:31 AM

I want the Type Euro rear Wing so Much,,the problem is that costs 699 USD at vividracing..
They are so sweet.
Thanks

True. I just stumbled on this. Life would be so much better if there was a "Wagon Forum!" Its a pain to search and search for wagon answers and have to weed through all the sedan only stuff.

Oh and I vote for front and rear lips. Some rear wing choices would be nice too.

Rocket Wagon 11-01-2002 10:53 PM

Well... how can we get I-club convinced we need a wagon forum? Who should we email? Should there be a poll?
PPower 11-01-2002 11:27 PM

No, it's not necessary to have a wagon forum. Then we'll have to have an STi forum, and a legacy wagon forum, and an outback forum. Where does it end?
mlambert 11-02-2002 02:17 AM

no need for a wagon forum...it wouldnt get much use

A better selection of front lips. thats about it i think....everything else, selection is alright.
vsigma 01-14-2003 01:04 AM

ill try to answer a couple of questions involing the UK stuff seeing that i've brought over quite a few of the kits myself in the past.

SoUK gets their stuff from SoNetherlands, who in turn gets their stuff from SoJ.

SoJ has been slow in producing and delivering product to that side of the world for the wagons for whatever reason.

This is part of the reason why it is also difficult for vendors to source these parts that way as well.

As a general rule of thumb, they sell a lot less wagons than they do sedans, and most of the wagons are the lower models (I.e. Not seeing mods) , so the mods options go down from there.

I'm not saying that there isnt stuff out there, but that quantities are just limited.

Also, you're talking about PU and NOT fiberglass, which increases the cost.

Fortunately, the impreza line as a whole share a lot of parts throughout the family. So you can easily get side skirts from a sedan and slap them on the wagon and so forth. Or a grill or a light, and so on. The only key issue is the width difference in the front and rear due to the bubble bulge for the wheels - hence the difference in sedan/wagon parts.

Did you know the Impreza wagon existed before the 2002 model year?

I think WRX wagon parts are easier to find than 93-01 wagon parts. Especially for parts that are in stock and won't take weeks to a month to get in. Just my 1 cent.

I'd like to see some different spoilers and body kits.
wrxplode 01-14-2003 09:20 PM

I'd be definitely up for getting a front lip, and a probably on a full body kit..
I'd really like to see the STi lip for the wagon, that'd be dope...
a new liberal-like wing would be nice too..
when would any of these parts be possible??
UU AR EX 01-14-2003 11:47 PM

I see a lot of interest for a wagon front lip.

Look at our WRX wagon front lip. www.LNRonline.com

I will update the pic in a week or so when the Carbon Fiber lip is ready.

gtrvspec01 01-15-2003 05:08 AM

If I have a wagon, I will like to have RG-S front bumper, Apexi-GT Spec Exhaust, Tein coil over, nice 17 inch rims, XS-turbo kit. Basically, anything that makes me look faster and run faster than muscle cars.

wrxplode 01-15-2003 09:28 PM

hey UU AR EX,
do you know if LNR is planning to make any more lips for the wagon? this one's a little too plain for me, although I don't want one that's too agressive... although, the c/f on this lip might look nice... how much would it be?

Wagon and LIBERAL kit

I've got the Liberal body kit minus the side skirts. They look totally Sweeeet. The bads are cracks super easy (no kevlar or aramid in the fiberglas mold), the fit is relativly poor around the wheel wells. It took about 2 1/2 months to get from Vivid. When I have to do it again I'll Get the euro OEM front lip and the keep the Liberal rear. I also would like to see a A pillar pod that fits and a reasonably priced functional rear wing.
Mister_wagon 02-12-2003 04:25 PM

Hava any pics of the front oem euro lip ?? :D
JonnySubaru 02-12-2003 09:22 PM

Can anyone get the '02-'03 Canadian Waist spoiler? If so, how much??? (there was one I saw that was more low-profile than the UK one)
