It's very possible. I was dressed in full hunting camo, with a marshals badge, and black winter cap. I was moving around quite a bit on that stage.

Thanks a lot!

Hey if they work, they work. Bigger calipers would be more suited for a tarmac setup.

It's a Group N car so they are Group N brakes, you don't get to choose. That picture makes them look smaller than they really are...

If you are experienced and credible you can get a credential.

I don't know you so, if you don't have motorsports experience, and especially rally experience, and do it for fun, or do other types of photography and think it would be neat to go to a rally and take pictures, it will be much harder.

Professional experience, related publication work, rally experience, and similiar make it easier.

Don't forget... big wheels/tires are not condusive to good snow/ice performance, and big rotors don't fit under 15" wheels ;)

Don't forget, it's class rules, you don't get a choice of brakes, hence they are Group N four pot brakes - same ones the car would run on tarmac with big wheels/tires. ;)

That and I used to wrench on that car, so I know whats on it! :p
Scooby921 02-03-2007 01:56 AM

Hmmm...no one bothered to get pictures of fellow board members SlideWRX and mykrrrr in their Ford Probe (anal edition) rally car? I figured that might get pictures just because its so darn funny. Of course it was a little less (more) entertaining when Tom hit a tree and relocated the RF suspension back 10 inches.

Oh well...great pics from the rest of you. Makes me wish I would have made the trip. Perhaps next year.
scoobyRx 02-03-2007 02:04 AM

this red probe? I got a couple

actually the tarmac group N brakes are the stock STI brakes. well, the new (n12) cars have even better brakes homologated for both gravel and tarmac

naw, it really wasn't that bad (from what i saw, i didn't get a chance to see the C pillars).

also notice the carbon hood that was hard to damage...

Ya the hood was fine. I believe some oil flooded into the cylinders but the car still fired up fine. One of the control arms broke and you could see how well the roll cage held up. The headlights just popped out as expected. Carbon fibre is mad strong.

Awesome event, great pics. I'll make it one of these years.

boosted_rs 02-06-2007 07:53 PM

Thans for the pics.

I just got back from Rallye Perce-Neige in Maniwaki, Quebec, Canada. ACP did a great job and won his first Canadian event.
