Mine are cheap replicas, so of course! But they're fine now - my paint guy's badass and works for cheap (free).
Handsdown 03-07-2003 05:55 PM

i love them but i don't want them to block out too much of the turnsig.- maybe i could cut a small circle out around the turn bulb, like the eyelids for some golf3 and gtis

Psssh who doesn't like them? :)

Dewey 8d 03-07-2003 08:04 PM

Holy crap! Verdugo your car is gorgeous - especially for the Seattle area! Mine's not quite as pretty right now due to the public roadways and their major abundance of loose gravel/rocks/dumbass-truckers. But I'm working on that with my painter as we speak. I wanna see more pics!

P.S. As soon as I wash my car I'll take some pics (who wants to put it up for me???) because I would like to get at least one on here!

Very, very nice! I am usually an avid hater of dark rims, but yours look great. Did you get it dyno'ed locally? Where? Nice results by the way...

EDIT: what are your mods for your results?

ONE MORE EDIT: where did you find those gauges (exact ones I want)?
wReXeRw 03-07-2003 09:14 PM

heres my car with JUN eyelines

Otaku64 03-07-2003 09:21 PM

very nice...you have anything under the hood from jun?
wReXeRw 03-07-2003 09:22 PM

JUN flywheel, JUN chassis remedy, JUN exhaust manifold (fabricated to fit us-spec wrx)... thats about it... stroker kit will have to wait, atleast until i get my turbo and fuel upgrades done.

Thanks! I got it dyno'd at DynoAuthority, which uses a Mustang dyno. They're located in Redmond, WA.

Procarparts.com :D
Capt Crunch 03-08-2003 08:21 AM

I don't like it because the lines don't match up with the car. There were some eyelids that did match up, but they looked bad. When I see a car with the eyelids on, I still see the bug eyes.

I'd rather have EDM sti lights. Oh wait, I do. :)

Of course now I have no money for performance parts.
kenchan 03-08-2003 09:20 AM

i have the vinyl version and liking them a lot. :) it keeps the
turnsignal more functional as light does pass through.

for cars with dark colors, definitely go with the thick plastic
ones as blue+orange = ugly... or other colors than white, silver.
wReXeRw 03-08-2003 02:51 PM

the replica JUN eyelines also can be signaled through
Dewey 8d 03-08-2003 03:07 PM

With mine you can barely see through and only if you're standing right over the front at night. :)

EDIT: okay, here's a couple quick pics of mine... http://www.pbase.com/dewey_8d/my_02_wrx
clsmooth71 03-08-2003 04:50 PM

Easily Remedied...

You can fix that by just adding a couple coats of opaque paint to the backsides of the eyelines. I used some high-temp, black spray paint, which I had leftover from doing the headlight mod. NO light gets through at all! :)

Hope this helps,

CL
Fuquad 03-08-2003 05:24 PM

I am really on the fence about these. I like the line they create from the grill to the fenders. But I just think they look kinda cheap. I don't like how the signals work from under them. It just looks like someone slapped vinyl on the lenses (which I guess siome of them are?).

So, I really don't know. If makes any difference, I don't like Morettes either. I guess I'm just a bug-eye guy.

Dewey 8d 03-08-2003 05:56 PM

The turn signal indicator/blinker.
Karlos 03-08-2003 10:25 PM

Do they make these in CF ? figure it would like nice with a CF hood :D

labor is done there, atleast the stuff thats too time consuming. And I buy most my stuff there. I just bought my JUN Titanium M Type exhaust, and theyre doing the custom titanium piping for me.:)

Oo DaRk StAr oO 03-09-2003 11:18 AM

How much did that set you back?
wReXeRw 03-09-2003 01:53 PM

1,000 bucks for the muffler and the piping. This is only for the axle back too:(
Samirr76 03-10-2003 08:59 AM

for the replicas, spray paint the backsides of the lids black and no light will shine through.

Even though it set you back $1000 it gave you the right to put a signal sticker on:D At least your not a POS with an STi sticker and no STi products.

well the ad didn't say replica?
Dewey 8d 03-11-2003 04:20 PM

If you're talking about these...

http://www.revolutionsmotorsports.com/index.html?target=p_254.html&lang=en-us

then they're replicas :( The genuine Jun eyelids are made of fiberglass, not ABS plastic, and the double-sided tape is already attached to them...

got mine from Gruppe-S  painted for $54.13 shipped.

Uhhh...I don't see how that would happen if the tape is on the bottom of the eyelids :)
uhhhh, when you constantly was your car it might happen. Is the double sided tape water proof??? That is the reason why I ask about car washes. But now that you replied that it is okay for washing, not a problem at all.

I just tried fitting the eyelid, it wont freakin' fit perfect. I hate replicas

dewey8d, where did you get your eyelids from?

TIA
Dewey 8d 03-18-2003 06:33 PM

lol I wash my car a lot, as well and I haven't had any problems yet, but I haven't had them on for very long, either. It rains a lot here, too. :D I got my replica JUN eyelids and replica Aqua taillight masks from Revolutions Motorsports .
WR xplosive 03-18-2003 07:08 PM

dewey, thats where I got my replica JUN eyelids from! After installing the eyelids, the curved side does not align very well. I can see a gap between the lines. :(

I see from your pbase Im001326.jpg is what I'm talking about. So the replica JUN will not align very well with the headlight and or cover the headlight rubber?!
Dewey 8d 03-18-2003 09:02 PM

Not really sure what you're asking but if I'm right...

You're asking if the rear exposed edge of the eyelid is supposed to completely cover the headlight & it's rubber seal, right? I'm sure the real JUN's do, but I figured for 30 bucks I'm not complainin'! :D
