hey all,

the first four inserts will be shipped tomorrow. the next twenty parts will be here on friday.

The cost will be no more than $28, 2-3 day shipping included. I don't want to take orders until I have the parts in hand, so please be patient for a little longer.

thanks,

deezel

Insert Update

Hey Guys,

The shop that I gave the order to is giving me the run around. It seems that they're seriously behind on filling orders and must take care of their larger accounts before they get to small business like me. I'm kinda pissed....since I've already paid for the parts. So thanks for being patient. The final cost will be $27 shipped USPS 2-3 day priority mail.

I also want to inform everyone that another I-club member is producing nearly the same insert, but using Delrin plastic instead of aluminum. He is charging $20 a part, shipping included USPS 5-7 day.

So if you can't wait for an aluminum insert and wouldn't mind a plastic one, check out this thread:

I just wanted everyone to be informed of both threads and of other options besides my design, since it's taking so long for me to get parts. Paulie may have already sold all of his first run, but maybe he'll do another one if there is enough interest.

Deezel,
Have you ever seen the original "Miracle on 34th Street" starring Nathalie Wood? In the movie, Santa (working for Macy's) refers customers to other stores that may have merchandise that Macy's doesn't stock. Initially, Macy's board of directors think it's an insane way to do business until they get a ton of positive feedback from Macy's customers. The competition, hearing about the positive remarks from Macy's customers, start doing the same thing. Now, if only some vendor's on this board would watch the movie . . .

The "other" part

Hey guys,

I am the "other" guy deezel is talking about that is making the Delrin adapters.

I just wanted to come on here and personally thank deezel for being so diplomatic about all this, and even referring folks to me if his adapter is unavailable. That my friends, is what customer service is all about, something that has been lacking from many retail stores today.

deezel is right on the money about getting a fabrication shop to do a "small" run of parts made. It is incredibly hard for a big fabrication company to stop making THOUSANDS of parts for their bigger accounts, to have them set up the machines to make only a small amount, say 5-10 custom little parts, for us. That will always be a challenge. Usually, they will fit our "small run" of parts between much bigger jobs, and guess what, if the big job they are working on take 4 weeks to complete, and it usues the same machines needed for our parts, we are going to have to wait.

If everyone who wanted one of my adapters actually buys one, than I will be in the same boat as deezel - sold out. So, I would ask you that if you were originally waiting for deezel's product, to stay with him. He has put a lot of work into getting his part fabbed, and I would hate to see his efforts wasted if everyone jumped ship on him.

Anyhoo, I just wanted to let you guys know that deezel is not pulling your chain. It really is hard to have this sort of stuff made.

It goes without saying that I respect deezel for the way he carries himself, and I'm glad there is absolutely no animosity between us. Thanks again deezel.

Sincerely,

- Paulie
