best shift knob part 2

John__Gotti 04-23-2006 11:26 PM

Kartboy shift knob in black for me. Only have had it and stock but for the price it is probably the best out there. Think it is only $30, can't remember but cheap compaired to rest.
itjustWoRX 04-23-2006 11:43 PM

tried stock...thought about the legacy knob and the momo air leather knob...but i ended up getting this, now i'm used to it and don't think i'll ever take it off...momo combat evo
I use the LGT shift knob, and IMO it felt way better than anything else (a little flat on the top for your palm and perfectly contoured to shift comfortably).
thats what i would like to get
TofuShop 04-25-2006 10:46 AM

Just a warning to all metal/titanium owners. Parked in direct sunlight on a hot day, it gets hot enough where you can't even put your hand on it. Thinking about selling my Subaru titanium knob and going back to the stock leather knob. Cold zero degree weather sucks too!
digitalmethods 07-28-2006 05:44 PM

Bring a small rag to put over it when you park. It doesn't bother you too much. Besides Ti usually cools really fast.
Shift knob by Sylvania (or is it General Electric)? Neat if it glowed too.
Take a look at the Dentsport then tell me which one looks like a bulb. You probably couldn't even make a knob out of play doh. duh!.

Think I'll pass on the rag idea and just put my stocker back on. My Ti stays hot for about 20 minutes.

Legacy GT Shift Knob for me. I absolutely love it and have no thoughts of changing. It really made the interior look better.
homer227 08-03-2006 10:09 AM

I'm using the Subaru Momo and I find it too hot in the summer and too cold in the winter.
Silver '02 REX 08-07-2006 12:26 PM

Will a knob from a 4eat subaru thread onto a M/T shifter? I know the boot won't attach to it but is the thread pitch the same?
topend 08-07-2006 12:30 PM

I keep one of those 3m detail cloths in my car all the time anyways so on hot days I just throw it over the shift. Mine is usually cool after a minute so it doesn't bother me. We just had a streak of 100 degrees for a couple of days and I wasn't bothered at all. Do what you want but I was giving you an option in case you didn't want to go back to stock.
