Got my car repainted and clear coat is peeling off! part 2

WRXRgr 06-21-2005 12:01 AM

Nuff said? You need to go back and re-read the payment sheet, vs. the work done.
Facts, not bluff. Nuff said.
WRX 2NV 06-21-2005 03:03 AM

Don't believe everything you read. Nuff said.
WRX 2NV 06-21-2005 07:47 AM

Let's see - 62 years old, married, 2 kids, 6 cars and a lot of accidents. Never paid the deductible - wonder why? Don't believe everything you read. The real story is always what the owner and the shop agree upon, not what the insurance company writes down. Like I said before - let's wait for the outcome - Nuff said.

Let me guess...brother-in-law runs one of the Ultimate CC shops. :disco: :disco:
SQC120 06-21-2005 10:01 AM

i've only heard good things from UCC..
I need to visit you guys to remove some dents since i missed the sqc dent removal meet

the two in dispute will handle the situation.
please close the thread before anything else gets out of hand..
WRXVII 06-21-2005 01:03 PM

Yes, I've heard good things about UCC. That's why I drove 50 miles one way to get my car fixed.

I really hope they will guarantee their work... I just want my car back in good condition as it's been in the shop for over a month all together. :(
Works pretty good in New York. I'll be looking at the car personally on Friday - can any of you out of staters say the same? Like I said - close the thread or move it to Vendor Reviews. If you notice none of the people who have used him in the tri-state are making negative comments - only people who don't know Bill or the shop. Nuff said.
Joe
Who the hell are you? We don't have to drive to see the car, the pictures are on the first page .

It's OK for Ultimate to fix the car, but it's not OK to claim work was done that obviously wasn't. Also, fixing a job that should have been done right the first time isn't 100% acceptable either, what's Ultimate going to do for him over and above what they should have done already?
WRX 2NV 06-21-2005 09:38 PM

Who the hell am I? Well probably someone who has been around long enough to know that not everything is black and white or that things aren't always what they appear to be. I'm not related to the owners but I do know both parties. Tim and I have been PMing on the side. So the question really is ...Who the hell are you?
All I'm saying is that this crap gets nobody anywhere. Let it cool down and see what the insurance company says, what Bill says and what Tim was told to expect.

 YOU need to keep lurking. Joe is a high-class individual in his youthful 60's who is involved with UCC. His car has finer mods than yours, and his company is enjoyed routinely at Tri-State meets.

I have used UCC, as have lots of folks in Tri-State. 100% satisfied customer.

^^^^^^ agreed.
Some people out of state that have no clue of the shop or its reputation among tri state (it has a very, very good one) and just flame or say negative comments about a shop because there is one issue. Some people need to quit worrying about post counts and just stay outta everything. I have met and talked to wrx 2nv and cole and they are both good, honest guys who tell it how it is.
Wheels 06-22-2005 12:58 AM

If this was a paintjob on my car I would not be happy with it at all., Infact I have been as pissed as you are.

Follow up with state farm as to when they are going to inspect the car and be there. Ask the person who inspects the car if they would find it to be acceptable if it was there car or there house.

Remind them you live in a climate where water freezes and expands and that the peeling paint in 3 years will look like a patch work quilt.

Then print the pictures out and post them all over the area near the paint shop. Saying this is the kind of work they think is acceptable.
Wheels 06-22-2005 01:07 AM
We stand behind our work 110% and guarantee everything that we do as we have stated to you numerous times in the past couple of weeks. Our last meeting with you and your wife when you picked up the car, you both checked over the car with a microscope and left pleased or so you told us. Now you seem to have a different point of view. Give us a call or bring the car by so we can go over each of your claims.

1) hoodscoop: there is no way it looks like that from our work. We have painted more wrx hoodscoops than we can count and have not once ever had that happen to any of them.

2) All this talk of not prepping the car properly is completely ludacris. All of your moldings were removed including your antennae just like we do to all of our cars.

We have been painting cars for over 26 years now and this is the first time we have ever had claims such as these. If we are at fault I guarantee you that we will take care of everything and make it all right because we stand behind all of our work 110%.
So you only want to be an average paint shop? You dont want to be better than the rest. Well thats fine I am sure we will all pass it on. You dont lie very well do you.

You say you didn't paint the hood scoop like that but you repainted it

You removed all the moldings but now your saying you wasnt paid to so you didnt.

Well you really are nocking on the "I'm a loser let me in door."

Sorry WRXVII you had to learn the lesson for us all
99subi 06-22-2005 01:23 AM

UCC is great, their work is one of a kind quality that you wont find anywere else and the owners are great people who would want nothing more than a happy, satisfied customer

Guess you never read all the thread?

And I've had plenty of body repairs in the past knock on wood *taps head* I've not needed one for 2.5years yeah me.
WRXVII 06-22-2005 08:22 AM

Dan, please keep us posted when State Farm guy comes in today. What time are they suppose to come in today?

I'm very interested to hear what they say.
UltimateLurker 06-22-2005 08:29 AM

I'm the guy that can see the pictures, can read an estimate, can see a plain lie, and that's been doing bodywork for 15+ years.

The fact is, what's coming from Ultimate doesn't jive with what shows in the pictures, forget everything else and explain that to me.

1. Did he do the work? If not, forget about him.
2. You don't even know my mods :p.
3. The fact that many other people have been satisfied means nothing to the original poster, all he's concerned with is his own satisfaction, and rightfully so.
WRXVII 06-22-2005 08:58 AM

UCC, please do not forget about two roof moldings that are bent out of shape. They also need to be replaced unless you can fix them to the way it was when I brought my car in for a repair. I guess someone tried to pull & tape them to secure them in position when paint work was being done.
bluesiguy 06-22-2005 09:36 AM

that sux
cronic 06-22-2005 10:14 AM

Ultimate does great work.. They are owning up to the problem and fixing it, plain and simple..

I have had numerous transactions with tim, and all of them were a pain in my ass(putting it mildly) He bought a turbo from me once, chewed me down something feirce, i didnt really mind as he was local, then shows up and doesnt have change for a 10 and gives me $5 in change, that is retarted..

I am sorry tim but you are a hard person to deal with, and a hard person to please.. I am not saying that in this case you shouldnt be complaining, but why post this on the boards when you coulda just went to Bill and dealt with it like a man.. You gave them nothing but problems since you first dropped the car off, as i was there multiple times where you would call and hound them about parts you wanted orderd that are frigggen JDM hard to get parts like JDM projectors, and STI hoodscoop. They are a body shop, they get factory OEM parts, not JDM parts.
MikeWRX-NJ 06-22-2005 10:33 AM

whether or not UCC is a great shop or not.
whether or not tim is a pain to deal with or a hard to please guy or not.
whether or not there was a discrepency with state farm and what UCC did or not.

This thread should never have existed. You didn't post those pictures asking for advice, you posted them to show a sub-par job BEFORE you started talks with UCC to have it fixed. Seems to me you just wanted to stir the **** and get sympathy support here.

All of this should have been resolved with UCC before this thread went to the forum.
munkis 06-22-2005 01:10 PM

enough.

UCC has shown they are more than happy to help you in any way they can, take them up on the offer.

Jay
