Wow, who on earth is going to be able to afford the carbon fiber body kit? There's such a shortage of CF now that this kit will cost upwards of $5,000 just to purchase it, let along install it, paint it, get wider rims, replace your wheel bearings every 3000 miles, etc.
The APR widebody kit is like $3000 or something and it's FRP. If someone could afford this kit in carbon fiber, they would just go buy a new gray market S204 and have it imported! New car, same exclusivity, blah blah blah, I'm done.
The kit will be available shortly. I've had the molds done for a while now, and I'm farming out the production to a company that does aerospace quality composite work. I'll be answering the pile of e-mails regarding availability as soon as I have some firm dates from them. Once that happens, I'll probably renew my vendor status and start a new thread so this one can die.
Anyway, for those who have hung on waiting ... thanks.
For those who think they know why I haven't made these things and why Aerosim has gone away ... believe me, you probably haven't got a clue. I walked away from all of the bulls**t and didn't post my story. Just because I didn't rebut all of the rumors and lies, doesn't mean they're true.
If you want to know the whole deal, just ask.
Thanks,
Steve

I picked up some test pieces on Saturday and they look really good. As soon as I pick up the bumpers, I'll post some pics of the kit on my car. I'll probably have to start a new thread in the vendor's section and renew my vendor status once the kits are ready.
This kit will work on a wagon as long as you don't mind losing the rear doors. :D
I know a lot of people who've sold their cars already ... lucky you have a girlfriend with a project car. A lot better than having a project girlfriend.

Thanks. I made some side skirts to go along with it. They're actually sitting on the top of my car in the pics. I wanted to wait until I had a production-ready kit on my car before I did the final fitting and made the molds for them. Anyway, they're included in the kit, but it'll probably be a few weeks before those are ready.
It's either fiberglass or carbon with epoxy resin, vacuum-bagged and post cured in an oven. The parts are really light and strong. The front fenders are somewhere between 2.5 and 3lbs. each and the rears are between 4 and 5lbs. each.
I'm going to pick up the bumpers and the rest of the parts tomorrow and will have pics by the weekend.
Thanks again for all the encouragement ... it'll be 7 years in a few months. Yikes.
Oh yeah ... and everybody should buy GC8's and my wide body kits.
Are the CF pieces going to actually replace the rear quarterpanels or will they be applied over the original fenders?
They should go over the original rear fenders although you could cut out all but a strip of the original fenders and bond the new ones to that. The thing is that the original fenders are part of the structure of the car and should be retained unless you put a roll cage in the car, and even then the added stiffness would be beneficial unless you're trying to reduce the weight.
Anyway, more pics soon and it looks like a carbon set in a week.

Have you had this thread bookmarked for 7 years? You know I have a kit with your name on it. Did Trey buy another GC yet? I told you guys when I met you at the Prodrive meet that I'd get these things done. That wasn't just an idle threat.
The Lotus is a blast. It's supposed to get a K20 one of these days, but I'm going to have to sell a lot of fenders before that happens. Maybe I'll get a trailer for it and tow a set of fenders up to you when the weather gets warmer and we can do some laps at Miller.
Shoot me an e-mail and we'll get the special Cobb set going ... "]
