Thanks for the info!

I would like to get the boost, oil pressure and the new A/F gauge with the autometer pod

I have a 06 STI, are there any other accessories I may need, galley plugRemote Oil Pressure Sender Installation Kitanything else?

Thanks again for your help:)

I have them to, but i have some problems with them.
When i strat the car, after a few minutes the guages are going up and up.
So in five minutes my oil temp is 140 degree celcius and have 10 bar oilpressure:huh:.
What can be the problem? everything is fitted correctly, i think is a ground problem?

Im pretty sure the sesnor is not installed. When its not installed the gauge see's an open circuit and max's out. The needle will rise slowly.

Please check all your connections.

Hi guys I need some insight right now.:sadbanana: So I ordered my Boost Gauge and Oil Temp off http://prosportgauges.com/ about 2 weeks ago. However nothing showed up yet, and I e-mailed them and no responds.:furious: Also I didn't get any sort of tracking # thus my paypal shown I had been charged.

I need my gauge now:diaf: Shouldn't it take 2-5 business day?

After more than a year with my Prosport boost gauge, the white numbers are starting to turn a slight purple colour. Im pretty annoyed that after a year the actual colour of the gauge numbers are starting to change colour.
I wouldnt buy a Prosport gauge again
FleaDog 02-15-2009 09:23 PM

I need a replacement 'thermocouple' (adaptor) to attach the prosport K-type EGT probe to my header... the 1/8 NPT male/male hex threaded part, ya know. Where the heck do I get one, prosport doesn't sell 'em ???

and BTW- does anyone know the thread pitch on those as well?

I was looking here: http://www.omega.com/pptst/BRLK_SSLK.html

Its gotta be on here:

SlverEJ20 02-16-2009 04:43 AM

Installed the prosport wide band Friday afternoon. Install was very easy but time consuming. In all I like it a lot!!
FleaDog 02-16-2009 08:27 PM

Heres the prosport EGT probe:

compression fitting (nut) on the EGT probe: 1/4 inch

probe jacket/cover (aka protection tube) diameter: around 3/16"th's to 1/4"

007WRX 02-16-2009 08:36 PM

Ryan, I receiver my new boost sending unit. Plugged it in, fixed the problem.

Thanks again.
FleaDog 02-16-2009 08:58 PM

I've yet to get any good feedback from prosport on the thermocoupler needed to attach the EGT probe to the header.

So I ordered the omegalok in stainless steel "SSLK-316-18". The prosport 'probe jacket' is 3/16'ths (from what ive read k-type probes are either 3/16 or 1/4 diameters - autometers are 1/4)... So we'll see how it works.

Like this:

heres another option, a swagelok:

Hey Ryan, since you work at Prosport maybe you can answer this. My friend and I have the premium series boost gauges. Mine is not installed yet but he is having issues with the boost reading off. From what I understand he has spoken with you guys and you have sent him a new sender hoping to fix the issue, however it has not. Both he and I think it has something to do with the drop in atmospheric pressure as we are @6000 ft. Any thoughts?
ryan_west06 02-19-2009 10:12 AM

That is really high! What is the gauge reading with the key on engine off.

You may need to go with a mechanical gauge
trick_subie 02-19-2009 01:15 PM

Not sure. I'll have him jump in an explain. We aren't even all that high. We live in Colorado, where most of the state is that high if not higher.

I'm jumping in.
I haven't ever used a electronic gauge before so i am not sure if others are different or not.
Up here in Metro Denver, Colorado atmospheric pressure is generally between 11.7psi and 12.2psi this represents a 2.5-3 PSI difference from sealevel. This is how far my gauge reads off.
I am wondering if you are using absolute pressure in your senders. This causes quite a bit of issues for us up here.
I was wondering if it would be possible to measure boost in relative pressure.

The gauge with car off

Thanks for popping in Eric. I am wondering the same thing as it seems to me that if the gauge can be calibrated at all why wouln't it be possible to calibrate it for the elevation here in Colorado? As far as a marketing thing would go Prosport would regain customers here at higher altitude that have switched to a different brand due to this issue.
master c 02-19-2009 05:41 PM

hahaha ironic you brought this up because i was talking to ryan about mine, it read exactly like yours ^^^^ about -8inhg and im at ultra high elevation in Butte, Montana (~7k ft above sea level) he said the sender cant zero out up here because there is no barometric circuit in the sender that allows it to calibrate to 0 gauge pressure instead of reading absolute pressure. I have attempted wiring in 2 different GM boost senders to try and remedy the problem, but i didnt have have a 2bar map sensor. Im guessing if someone has a 2bar map sensor that it may just solve our problems.
007WRX 02-20-2009 02:17 AM

Finally put the last gauge in.

I really like these guages especially since I dont ever wanna spend the money on DEFIs. It would be nice to play back everything off my gauges but not completely necessary to me. My question is, anyone running these around san diego? Curious if the boost gauge is reading correctly here. I think we are only around 1300ft here where I am and thats not too high at all. Just wanna make sure these gauges are gonna be accurate enough for me. Im way to OCD tohave an off reading gauge.
007WRX 02-20-2009 03:58 AM

They are accurate. Pressure is identical from gauge to accessport connected to ecu.

The only reason we are having problems is due to a huge elevation difference. You are at ~1300 ft we are at 6000 ft+. Huge difference in pressure for us and it throws us only by aboiut 2-3 psi. Being in Cali I wouldn't worry about these in the least.
elwray 02-20-2009 12:23 PM

Been watching this thread for a while, and I've been looking at getting a Premium boost gauge. I like the look and the price seems perfect.

I was wondering if anyone had pictures of the 52 or 60mm IN the cup/pod thing? Or the dimensions of it? What does the 52/60mm measure, the face of the unit or the entire physical diameter of it?

I'm trying to figure out if it would be possible to get it in a nice position near the windshield/A-pillar/dashboard "intersection" at the front left of my 09 dash... Since I'm not planning on heavily modding the car I don't see myself getting any more gauges, so I'm trying to come up with a clean OEM style placement for the single boost gauge..

Thanks for your input!
yo14jman 02-20-2009 02:34 PM

Finally installing my premium oil press, oil temp, and volt gauges tomorrow! I bought 1 sandwich adaptor for the oil temp and oil pressure, is there a way the oil won't spill out when i take off the filter? I bought Royal Purple oil about a month ago and i don't feel like replacing it already, because its not cheap. Any help ASAP would be great since i am doing this early morning tomorrow. Thanks
FleaDog 02-20-2009 06:06 PM

Problem solved Regarding the correct thermocoupler needed to connect the EGT probe.

The correct part was indeed "SSLK-14-18".

To clarify the omega part #:

(1) "SSLK" = stainless steel (they also some in some other metals).

(2) "14"= means compression nut hole/size is 1/4"

(3) "18" = 1/8 NPT threads on the part of the thermocoupler that will screw onto/into the 1/8 NPT tapped hole in the header.

Ride1226 02-21-2009 02:38 AM

Im thinkin about picking up a set of the premiums for my car. Wondering if all of the gauges have the feature where if you push the button it shows you the peak. I saw on the EGT gauge that if you push the button it will show you the peak EGT during the time it has been on. If i do a 2-3-4gear pull and then press the button on the boost gauge will it show me my peak boost? If so Ima order these right up.
007WRX 02-21-2009 02:40 AM

If you wire them correctly, there will be a memory for the peak feature. However, you can reset the peak by pushing the button once to show peak, then push it again and hold it, then the peak feature will be reset.
stiffler199 02-21-2009 02:59 AM

installed my premiums on my 06 today!! not one single issue. wire it using the clock diagram and make sure to be careful where you run your boost hoses. The easiest and most fun mod to date. 1.5hours intall time, with a couple of Dew breaks.
Ride1226 02-21-2009 03:22 AM

So it will show the peak for all of the different types of gauges then? Then press and hold to clear the peak memory and then run again and itll show the new peak. Very interesting. Like it.

Yes. You can also set the warning levels too. It's easy to figure out once you have them.

cheers.

yo14jman 02-22-2009 02:41 PM

I fixed it! Yes i have the premiums...I got them to work. It was a not so good ground i had it on. I just hooked them up so they are amber all the time also. It matches the cluster. I love these. I'll get a pick later on to add to this thread

Hey guys, I have 3 prosport performance gauges, all green/white performance series. Anyways, I read somewhere on here that the green/white performance gauges can also be wired to have an amber display as well as the green/white. The thread talked about the gauges displaying red when only the power and ground were hooked up. The thread was from late 2006 though and I wasn't sure if it was still possible to do this with the green/white gauges. I was just wondering if anyone else has their gauges set up this way and if so, how I could do it as well. The guy who did it sort of said how, but didn't really give a detailed how to. Anyways, thanks for your help.

Hey Bendub, I just installed the same exact setup! What color paint did you use to match the a pillar? Mine is still that black color - and I'd rather it matched the other side.

That reading sounds correct, you will be in vacuum at idle and zero is correct due to no pressure.

Nice job!
