Can someone take a quick snap shot of where to screw in this oil pressure thing? Do I need to order and sandwhich adaptor for it or not. The instructions don't say that I do...
Thanks!

So I decided to buy the mechanichal boost guage
http://www.prosportgauges.com/prosport_gauges-green.htm
Currently I have no boost guage in my car so when I purchase this guage do I need to buy anything else to hook it up or does it come with everything I need?
If anyone could let me know I would appreciate it.
PS. What color looks best in the WRX? Green would match the stock interior but what about blue?

The only thing it doesn't come with is a pod or something to mount it in. That's up to you. I suppose you could make something up to mount it, but Prosport makes a single gauge mount for $7 or something like that. Oh, and you'll need some zip ties for the hose.

what kind of vacuum tubing does the boost gauge use? not particularly a fan of the brass fittings / nylon stuff.

I recently purchased and installed the same boost gauge. I mounted it on the steering column. It has a ground wire and three color wires which simbolize how the gauge will light up. Really super simple. (red, green, white)
Tie the color of your choice into the power source of your choice.
As for a cup to mount on the column I went here: http://www.amazon.com/Auto-Meter-2204-Gauge-Mounting/dp/B000CNLWWA
The hose is the clear white hose which is fine by me. Some might take the T connector down to Home Depot and grab four feet of a more stout hose.
As for me I couldnt care less. I routed it away from any hazards and left enough to allow for movement in the engine bay.
Useing smalled size zip ties and just getting them snug enough to prevent movement is the key.

with my old boost gauges (ie. autometer) using a brass T, i had to find all these different adaptor fittings to make it fit the hose coming off the bpv. in the end, the T was probably 3" across. is this the same case?

In the case of the WRX (mine) no. The tee has two sets of groovs which make it pretty universal and a real pain in the ass to put on with the BPV/ IC still attatched.
I had to have my tee burried in the hose totally (becouse thats how I invisioned it) so It took some knuckle dragging to accomplish.
It was also rather cold out when I installed the little clear hose so I hit it on the end really quick with a lighter just to work it over the tee.

I like that glowshift one. Looks real clean and it's only $50. I will probably pick one of those up. Most of these clock pods are way to expensive for what they are IMHO.
It's a bummer I have to wait 45 days to get my green gauges now. I thought they were gonna be here at the end of the month:( . Oh well that's Ok I guess. Like Tom Petty said "the waiting is the hardest part"

They are good gauges, very acurate, cept for the oil pressure gauge. I have Oil Pressure,Boost, and Exhaust temp.
THe oil pressure sender requires that you buy the sandwich adapter for the oil filter. they dont say that but its required.. too big to use the galley plug. its also 1/8 NPT not 1/8 PT.
The gauges rock, the color is great. Idk why people hate on them so much. They're accurate and look good.

Its not the size of the plug, its the size of your sender unit. Like....I had to use the sandwich adapter which cost me almost 70 bux extra just to get them to work, but when they do. :)

Hmmm, our sender size 1/8NPT is the industry standard?? Every gauge company uses that size. We are a supplier to VDO, Stewart warner, ect...they all use that size.

Just so I understand you, you tried using a 1/8pt galley adapter plug and the sender unit would not fit it? But a 1/8pt sandwich adapter does fit the sender unit?

I have a green/white mech. boost gauge and it's been great. I also use the little hood that comes with it so that probably helps during the day. They could honestly be a little dimmer, at least the green could because it's far more bright than the stock gauge green.

I used a NPT to PT adapter for my sandwich adapter. The actual sender unit (round big thing with two places for wires on it) is WAY too big to use the galley plug. It wont fit with all the tubing and all that. I literally HAD to use the oil filter adapter.

just put a variable resister in the circut its honestly no big deal. I bet you could even use the stock light dimmer switch, just make a connection right after the dimmer switch in series and if youve got multiple gauges send that wire to its location and wire the gauges in parallel. No biggie.

oil pressure sender kit from WRXtra.com
this well allow you to tap into the gallery hole but not have to squeeze the sender down there. The kit allows you to mount the sender on the side of the trut tower wall. Nice and easy.

Yellow Needles-Well, I am sorry to say that this is not going to happen. This is much more difficult than I thought, while at the factory I could see exactly what was involved. Long story short, this might happen some day, but not anytime soon. As you all know we have a hard enough time keeping up with production as is. We are just now adding a second shift at the factory to get ahead of the curve. Come the end of Nov. we will have over 40 different gauges for sale. At the same time we are developing new products each month. Next week is the SEMA show & when we get back we should be all set up as a vender here, so you will find us in the Classified section. Most likely we will kick off our New vender status with some sort of Nasioc Special. AS we put the finishing touches on our wideband AFR gauges (packaging, instructions, etc..) we are looking to release them here first!
Come be the first to see them at our booth in SEMA -North HAll Booth 12176

My idea is I wanna see what everyone complains about not being able to read them in the daytime. I found this pic from the MAIC section, however it's taken from gauges placed in the clock pod, which is what I will NOT be doing anyway:

Can anyone please PM me or post here the pics in the a-pillar pod? Again, hoping for WRX gauges with the white/green backlighting. Thanks in advance! :D
My idea is I wanna see what everyone complains about not being able to read them in the daytime. I found this pic from the MAIC section, however it's taken from gauges placed in the clock pod, which is what I will NOT be doing anyway:

I havn't even put my order out on the oil gallery plug adapter. Any issues with using the one sold on subarugenuineparts.com? I read something about the sender unit for the oil pressure being to TALL?? I hope I don't end up buying it and having to wait some more to install my oil pressure gauge...why prosport?? WHY??? nice prices thats why

Tell, you what..Can you take a picture or measure the galley plug to whatever it is on the other side & I'll post up the measurement of the length of the sender. I am sure others have run them their with no problems...

The customer service is great. I've had mine for a little over a month. My egt gauge was acting eratically. I called prosport discribed my problem, and narrowed it down to a faulty probe. Told me I should send mine back to them and they would ship a new one back to me the same or next business day.

Anyone else have a stock STi that is reading 17psi on the electronic boost gauge? Is something wrong with mine?

electronic boost gauge, if you do not have a factory boost gauge (turbo baja) is there away to hook up this gauge?

Sure, just tap into the vacuum line, all prosport gauges comes with everything you need to install them. (in this case a T-fitting, vacuum hose, Electric sender, hood & mounting hardware)

I posted this on electrical forum but I figured I would ask here as well. I installed my EGT gauge (white/green) and I got the white (daytime) and green (nighttime) illumination to work. Now, I'd like to dim it to match the stock output of the cluster, especially at night. I tried a 10K resistor on the orange line (green illumination) but that did not have any effect on the gauge brightness. Is the illumination powered by the gauge 12V power source and the illumination lines are switching lines?
