DC Driving shoes! part 1

Easy Rider 03-02-2007 05:42 PM

DC Driving shoes!
Here is a peak at the new DC Driving shoes.

The high top is fully SFI / FIA certified race shoe.
They have many of the same features as DC's other shoes including their "Drop In Cushioning" which will make them great for standing and walking in.
The forefoot has a thin sole and will provide great pedal feel.
They are full grain leather - so they will clean and wear well.

The low top has the same features but is not nomex and is not certified.

They should be in stores in mid to late April.

Those are sweet, ill be buying a pair...or too.
MFR Sweep 03-02-2007 05:48 PM

same here!

Ken Block,

Can we get a confirmation that these fit the same as the rest of the DC line (size wise)?

Thanks!
Sweep
fuzion90 03-02-2007 05:48 PM

Those look nice, ive got some DC's and they are pretty comfortable.
Easy Rider 03-02-2007 05:56 PM

I can't speak for Ken - but my understanding is that they are built on the same lasts - so they will therefore fit the same - size wise - as other DC shoes.
subiebui 03-02-2007 05:58 PM

mmm i think im going to get a pair of the low cuts
05cgm 03-02-2007 06:03 PM

$200 a pair for the high tops, $100 for low.
TRooper 03-02-2007 06:44 PM

I'm all over those red high tops. My fancy footwork deserves some fancy shoes. Call me a metrosexual,if you must, but I wouldn't mind having a matching set of driving gloves.

ibtmatchingmanpurse.
wagonmasta 03-02-2007 07:00 PM

i need to see the chicane in person to make a decision.... but, ive gone through a handful of dc's and was satisfied

yea i feel the same way... I've been wanting a pair of nice driving gloves.
chimchimm5 03-02-2007 08:50 PM

Yes because Ken Block needs more money.

Hah. But seriously, nice shoe. Very appropriate actually for DC to make.
wacerx 03-02-2007 09:02 PM

o im gonna score a pair of those camo black ones. love DC shoes and would not mind owning another pair.
KarmaWagon 03-02-2007 09:03 PM

camo white FTW
n0hp4me 03-02-2007 09:11 PM
camo white FTW
+1 My last 5 pairs of shoes has been DC and with driving shoes looking like these I'd buy a pair or maybe two

wanker....
AruisDante 03-02-2007 09:23 PM

Any word on the max size for these? Because I'd love a pair (my old pumas are getting a little worn) but I'm a size 14/15, which can be limiting to say the least.
dyslexicwrx 03-02-2007 10:30 PM

I was going to post to see if they were going to make some and here they are! I have skated DC's for a while now and they are great shoes!
Crzykdd 03-03-2007 01:59 AM

Eh, a camo black or some sort of black w/out pink highlights would be nice...

pink is for teh gay
St0k3d 03-03-2007 02:16 AM

shotty one pair of black on pink chicanes

ive wanted driving shoes for a while now, but wasnt crazy about the styling... i love skate shoes and have a couple pairs of dc's.. these should suit me perfect
WRXedUSA 03-03-2007 02:35 AM

Camo white Chicane is what I would like.
n0hp4me 03-03-2007 02:42 AM

I used to look at driving shoes and think they were ugly.... but DC is going to do it right and make driving shoes look more casual and all around nice and hopefully cheaper then most driving shoes
lummer shawn 03-03-2007 02:49 AM
Definitely buying a pair. Are you guys gonna sell em online?
Aspect - email wcurrie at theeasyrider dot com
he seems to be "in the know"
so he will probably be able to help you with the info you need
PIECEOFTHEPIE 03-04-2007 01:36 AM

I heard that dc is not sponsoring anyone else in rally than travis and ken, just hear say.
OBShahn 03-04-2007 12:55 PM
I heard that dc is not sponsoring anyone else in rally than travis and ken, just hear say.
Why is this in this thread?

DC shoes will probably continue to provide support to other drivers that they have on going relationships with.
jwan01 03-04-2007 02:24 PM

I think i'll be ordering the camo white.
WRXedUSA 03-04-2007 06:52 PM

It's cool they match the colors of the Gumball cars.
erich_sc 03-04-2007 09:12 PM

Can't say I'm a fan of the camo, too bad. I'll probably still try on a pair.
OBShahn 03-04-2007 09:31 PM

Can't wait for a list of DC stores that are supposed to stock these so I can try them on before using my RA thank you card for a pair or two.
pbourcq 03-04-2007 10:50 PM

nice shoes...the pilottis are nice also
Easy Rider 03-13-2007 07:19 PM

The Chicane's in White showed up on Monday - the other low tops later this week and ProSpec's by late March / early April.
fliz 03-13-2007 07:36 PM
$200 a pair for the high tops, $100 for low.
Ouch. Guess I'll be sticking with my Simpsons.

DC should provide some as podium prizes at RA events.

Any more insight as to the fit compared to regular DC shoes??
Any more insight as to the fit compared to regular DC shoes??
Pretty much the same as other DC's - I am an 11 in "regular" DC's and I am an 11 in the Chicane's.
They feel awesome - put them on yesterday morning - boke them in in about an hour - now super comfy.
The Drop In Technology makes the heals feel great - WAY better than my Puma Replicats for walking around in.
Nice pedal feel in the FXT last night on the way home too.

Well done Ken.
nxttruck2002 03-14-2007 01:24 PM

Post some actual pictures. Also, where did you order them from?

The Easy Rider is a dealer, the best place probably in Cannuckistan to order from, mainly because is he a rally crazed fool.

Cool, I'll have to go figure out what fits for DC shoes (just don't wear skate shoes anymore) and wait for them to be online so I can use my thank you card.

I was about to ask the same question. The shoes look great... I'm just hoping they come out in a 14. :)
JiveMasterT 03-14-2007 02:02 PM

Because they are driving shoes... does that mean you shouldn't use them for normal walking around and stuff? I have a set of DCs that I use for driving and walking around and stuff... but some of those are pretty cool.
AttaQ 03-14-2007 04:51 PM

I can't wait until these are released, so I can check them out!
nxttruck2002 03-14-2007 04:54 PM

I hope the have the exact say fitment as their regular shoes...?
WRXedUSA 03-14-2007 05:22 PM

Can us southerners order from Easy Rider?

psg 03-14-2007 06:12 PM

I'm jonesing for a pair of Chicanes in blue.

Off-topic note: By the way, Easy Rider, I finally painting your car up in RBR (a whole 5 months late ). It's looking good!
mlk_f1 03-15-2007 06:15 AM

I always bought DC shoes when I was a skater. The are built to last.

These driving shoes look a bit bulky compare to the pumas.

Sorry.

Ken sold the company in 2004. Why are we praising him for the new-line????
STI_SLC 03-16-2007 01:54 AM

ken is one, the co-founder... two, he continues to own a good portion of the brand and holds the current title of brand manager..
so yes, you can thank ken.

Not to "jump" on you - but if Ken was not still as involved in DC as he is - there is no way there would be a driving shoe - let alone a sponsorship deal of he and Travis.
WebMasterP 03-16-2007 04:19 PM

Does anyone know why these are only being sold in Canada right now?

When I google for these shoes, all I can find is Canadian distrubutors.
Easy Rider 03-19-2007 08:52 AM

Cause us Canucks are just way more on the ball :)
