Not to worry, Uber Wagon. I've known the winner since the day I was born, and you've got some bad info on your details there.

He grew up driving Subarus, Subarus have been some of his favorite cars from the beginning, and although he does own a truck, he's always been into cars, the faster the better. It just didn't make sense to own one at the time be bought his truck.

A WRX has been on his wish list for a while, so this tricked-out STI is a dream come true.

He's a fan of racing, but probably not to the degree of many people on this forum.

He is into DC shoes, and his snowboard boots are DCs, so that much was pretty close to right on.

So there you have it. A good winner for certain.
Get him to get an account on here, and post pictures :)

Hmmm, perhaps a little envy was making the tone of my post a little harsher than it should have been....

Congratulations, on getting one of the best subies out there! Feel free to drop me a line if you want the down low on the local Subaru community. :)

I won (I think), and I'm stoked!
Im now the proud holder of a title to a 2005 STI, which Carfax says went to the UK two weeks before the Gumball. Welcome to Nasioc.

It's legit.

Take care of that car. It's a perfect track ready machine. There is all sorts of information laying around here documenting it's history.

If I slide out to Denver, I want a look.

Congrats! I am very happy to hear that the car is going to someone that appreciates it. Really....you don't know how happy that makes me. :) :) :)

That car was part of a very memorable trip for Rob Dyrdek, his big buddy Big Black, and a friend named Ruben. Ruben made the Gumball movie from 2004 (6 Days...) and ended up as the Director of Rob's new MTV show.

I think you will enjoy the car. We all really enjoyed driving the hell out of those things in Europe. Just so you know...that thing can do 180 MPH!

Do you plan on keeping the graphics or taking them off?

Send me a private message (forum feature) sometime and I will hook you up with a bunch of DC stuff and some signed Dyrdek stuff.

Congrats GumballSTI!
To win something like that must feel absolutely amazing!
I was lucky enough to drive one of those Gumball cars (Thanks Ken!) at Rally New York, last year (not yours, but the white one). They are insane!! Basically a race car with a license plate..
Like they say..."drive it like you stole it!"
OH and watch for flames coming from the exhaust when you lift... ;)

That's really cool...extra hook ups and the man giving away the car is truly happy with who is getting it.

I'd keep the graffics on if it were me and I'm a guy who likes plain cars.
thechoochman28 11-30-2006 12:02 AM

That's the car hooked up with a CP S2 block, i-speed tune and some gt32 but not quite a cp32 turbo kit like on Ken blocks white scoob...if i'm not mistaken. Still should haul! Congrats!

This is awesome! I wish I had known about the contest, but oh well. At least the car went to a Subaru fan and not some idiot ricer. So congrats to GumballSTi. I hope you enjoy the car. It's pretty obvious that the rest of us are jealous. Post pics when you can.

On another note......Ken Block is on NASIOC?! Awesome! Its so nice to see that professional drivers, race teams, and "celebrities" aren't too good to kick back and hang out with the rest of us enthusiasts on occasion.

keep the graphics, i'm not a fan of graphics as a whole but the DCShoes STi graphics packages are the ish...
I'd sport them on my 05 if it wouldn't make me a poser (since my obviously isn't on of the DCShoes cars)

Ken- Youve really gone above and beyond here! Ill definitely take you up on your offer. As for the graphics, theyre staying on for sure. Theyre in-your-face, but not over the top, just the way I like it. Plus Im proud of the car and its past, and the graphics are part of its personality (and they look sick!).

Burton has something kind of like that now...except you pull on these strings instead that control the upper and lower independently.

Garages and old rides
You sir, are the luckiest man on earth! Have fun with that thing! What did you drive before this?
Thanks! I must say it feels pretty good. I'm still driving my Toyota pickup while I wait for the Gumball to arrive. I wanted to drive it out, but I couldn't get down to pick it up over Thanksgiving, and they needed to make room in the warehouse, so I put it on a transport. I can't wait to get behind the wheel of something fast :)! I'm hoping it makes it in one piece.

*just leave the keys and we promise to take good care of it!

Dyno Love
Seems Uber Wagon and I share a tuner! Turns out he rolled up to my car while the tuner was on a street run. It spent yesterday on the dyno getting re-mapped for this altitude, our ethanol mix gas, and an extra bit of reliability, all while smoothing out the edges and bumping the power at the wheels from 283 to 316. Ah, the dyno. What a wonderful invention. Says I've got plenty more room to grow if I want to start pushing the engine a little. We shall see..... Man I love this car!

Thanks for everyone for the many congrats!

This is info i got from Modified Magazine a while back when they published the article on that fire breathing trio. Didnt somebody mess up the body work on the Blue STi by hitting a few road cones? Just wondering...Congrats that ride is sick!! Im not usually into the graphic/vinyl thing but that STi looks soooo good.
