4wdrift 04-06-2008 12:24 PM
thats what that clear plastic thing called?
Yup...
I've seen them called scrapbooking pebbles, dots and bubbles. You can get them in any craft store.

BTW... best logo site link EVAR!! CLICK HERE
called page pebbles- be advised they are no longer made, but there are still some out there- it's the extra large size you want 1x1"

there may be another manufacturer that I'm not aware of????

glilly is also a vendor on here "underground graphics"
There are plenty that are still made. I will go scan some of the ones I just picked up to show you ;).....

id like to put one of these on a kartboy shift knob... does anyone know the size of the kartboy knob sticker?
Handsdown 04-06-2008 02:25 PM

it's a little smaller (1/16" of an inch) in diameter than the "Extra Large" 1" making memories round XL page pebbles.

if you look closely you can see where i did some trimming:

however the ink looked like **** after about a year and a half in the sun.

I got a kartboy shift knob and the little barcode sticker. I want to do a white shift pattern on that same color blue. :)

Another Idea
I can't believe how this post is still going. I hope everyone is enjoying the DIY as much as I did (I sold the car already).

This DIY needs to evolve to another level...anyone who can find a bigger pebble (3x1) gets a freebie of anything they want put on. I want to do this...

The original idea is to use sublimation process but cost more money. The one I did is a prototype. I went to a trophy and engraving place and asked them to cut me a brushed aluminium plate (cost: around $5-8). I then used a sticker type clear plastic that I can use on my printer. I then used another clear sticker to place on top of the other one to protect it. Overall not that bad but it doesn't look professional...looks very DIY.

Although looking at this pebble...it might work (top left pebble--first one):

slowscooby 05-15-2008 08:20 PM

oh thats sweet and i need somethin new on my kart boy, its sideways. haha
Handsdown 11-12-2008 12:58 AM

so the problem is that the printer paper isn't UV proof, so it fades.

this is... and it won't.

i know it's plain but it's beautiful.

(to be clear, that's aluminized tape, not the inside of a pepsi can:lol:)

I can't find the bubble stickers ANYWHERE here in Toronto, Canada...I went to several Michael's art stores, dollaramas, wal-marts, zellers...i wanted to put it on my razo sticker that came with my shift knob...

Look at the pics I posted. Do a Google search using the names and you will easily find
places online that sell them.

Anyone have a PSD file they can send me? I want to use it for sizing purposes to design my own 2.5i shift pattern. Something just like the pic above.

Also, what square sticker brand corresponds with the file, or does it matter? Thanks.
l2iceboy 11-12-2008 05:36 PM

I wonder if anyone cuts a custom size for these pebbles...my razo sticker is 28mmx24mm

I think he means a PSD file which already has a shift pattern for the size, not a logo.
Shiz36 11-13-2008 02:25 PM

^^ exactly. i've got all my logos and stuff.

i don't even need the shift pattern. it could be a PSD file of a black square. just as long as its actual print size of the square sticker so that i can start a blank canvas and create my own.

anyone wanna hook a brother up?
div 11-13-2008 02:50 PM

Eh, if that's all you need?

File -> New -> Put 1 in both width and height then choose "inches" to the right of each.
bcWRX-02 11-13-2008 03:09 PM

Also, you can start off with Avery sticker paper, then place the tile overtop. That way you don't need 3M double sided tape, plus the sticker paper is thicker and more resiliant to fading.

lol. no shiit. they're just 1" x 1" squares? i feel dumb

thanks.
wrxmyers 11-13-2008 06:44 PM

just made a prodrive one like BIGSKY....

going to get pebble tommorrow and than will post pics....

i used templates found on page 4
Shiz36 11-13-2008 06:52 PM

^^ which one on page 4, the MOMO one or the ARC one?

i'm confused why some have round corners. all the pebbles look pretty square to me. do they make pebbles with rounded corners?
wrxmyers 11-13-2008 07:21 PM

i used the subuaru ones at the bottom as those are sized allready....

i changed font of numbers/R and cropped in prodrive logo

i made the black square big, that way when i put on square pebble i can cut it exact to size than used 3m double tape and stick to center console.

If someone can make these, PLEASE contact me;)
jdubya301 12-21-2008 01:43 AM

i am still looking for the 1 inch squares. cant find em at walmart, micheals or jc moore

any ideas?
Shiz36 12-25-2008 11:30 PM

^^ me too. went to 2 michaels, an ac moore and a joann fabrics. joanns told me if its on their website, its not in their stores. i found that to be total bs, but either way, shipping is like $6 from them. it costs more to ship than it does for the actual product.

i just got my new momo knob for xmas today and need to do this mod asap. anybody on the east coast have luck finding them?
2002WRX_5speed 12-31-2008 09:03 AM

Look online or find a mom and pop scrapbooking store. Also, try Walmart...I think they still sell them.
