Im the 1st place guy in STU, and I would agree with Thrdeye and Bill about why STU was slower than STS2 and STX.
Plus, this was only my 2nd event with the Tein coilvers and Whiteline sway bars. So I am still re-learning the car. Plus, I was on borrowed tires that werent really scrubbed in (they were designated street use only tires).
And Bill, I ended up just putting those bad tires on the rear and driving home. Luckily there was no rain, and it was a safe drive home. Today at work they mounted my Falkens on the wheels.

That event is already set. Basically it is the Atlanta Division Doublecross but it will count as a Prosolo towards being eligible for the Profinale.

Considering I spent my afternoon (okay, 20-25 minutes) doing the points for the Tour, it better count. ;)
Seriously, the two SEDiv Tours are automatically counting towards the SE points. So, you are one third of the way to "qualifying" for the SEDiv Finale at AMS the first weekend in November.
Heyward just has to proof the points files I sent to him this afternoon, and then they should be posted on the SEDiv website by the end of the week.

Bill,
If you are considering driving all the way to cali then you have to go to Huntsville. I will be there and would love for BSP to be as good a class as it was this past weekend. Unfortunately, I believe we will be without Joel/Stompy that event as I think he said he has a prior engagement.
Either way it should be quite fun as it is an awesome site that should make for an even better course.
Hope to see everyone there,
Brian

You guys all need to come to the Huntsville tour....that is THE BEST site in the southeast. It is a little bumpy in a few places, but the course designs there are awesome.
Even better than hunstville is the double cross challenge. It is the most fun you'll ever have autocrossing and also the best chance you'll have at winning money. It is very spectator friendly, so I would encourage you to bring your families with you.

As a general FYI, RE070's are not STU legal as they're not available in 7 different sizes required for a legal tire.
You would be fine at local events, but can be protested at a National Tour or Nationals.

Not true. They are legal because they are an OEM tire.
The yokohamas were useable last year because they were OEM on the Lotus Elise, other wise, they would not have met the size requirement either

Just to clarify, the Atlanta "ProSolo" is actually our Doublecross event. Howard Duncan will be in Atlanta to watch us put it on and study it's adapability for a national series. The rest of the National staff will be in Peru for the NT. For those that ran the Doublecross last year, this year will be very similar, only there will be additional ProSolo contingency benefits if all goes well.
We just got the lot reserved a few weeks ago, so event details and registration should be coming soon.

To back up what thrdeye said... quoting from the Stock rules 13.3:
Any tire which is OE on a car eligible for Stock Category may be used.
Even if it only came on one car everyone can use it. The rest of the rules in 13.3 only apply to non-OE tires. :)
Going even further with the discussion... 13.3.F reads...
F. Each tire model must be sold in at least four rim diameters, with a total of at least six sizes.
1) Not seven. 2) 13.3.F does NOT apply to ST* rules (See ST* 14.3). :) So, even if a tire only comes in one diameter, one size, it is FULLY LEGAL in ST, as long as it meets the other tire requirements in the class and not on the ST* exclusion list.
May want to brush up on your rules. :)

Ah, so you guys are in the same boat as me. I plan on hitting the DC Pro and Devens NT definitely. I am reg'd for FLR Pro, but may not attend (lots of weekends away from the family). I also don't have the time to make it to the ProFinale, so it may not make sense for me to do 2 events. Will def be at Nationals too, excited to pop my cherry on that one. Gonna be rough with Tom Berry in the 2006 Showcase car, assuming they keep it in SP.
Now if my parts suppliers would come through so that I can make the test and tunes I would be thrilled.

"Bad Shape Tire" ... the tire companies must love you! :D
Alignment is not hard ... do a search for DIY aligning.
We set our camber plates for max camber with aggressive toe out for racing ... and then find the position when you slide them back out to get zero or a tiny bit, no more then 2 mm's, toe-in. Mark that on your camber plates as your street setting. You are typically only moving the strut a bit more then a 1/4 inch out from the max camber setting ... whether you have camber or camber/caster plates ... the 1/4 inch out from the center line of the car is typical. This only works on cars where the steering arm connects to the front of the hub ... like on our Suby's.
You will still have a lot of camber ... but it's toe that is the tire killer. You can tell on a clean painted garage floor ... if you have that killer toe, the tires will squeak when you roll the car, as the tires are forced to slip when they rotate. All you need is some nice straight boards to put against the tire/wheel and a steel tape measure to measure across. A 19 and 13 mm open wrench to adjust the steering arms. Typically one facet, of the six facets around the steering arm is = to 1 mm change in toe.
That's funny. Last I checked, NASIOC's own pleiades (Steven Rankins) won, and ground-pounding Corvette driver Steve Waters was the runner up....
That pirate whispering sweet nothings in your ear again, KC?

Karen
I may have things confused then... looking at the results.. yep, you're right. My bad. Maybe I was thinking about this year.
By the way, ATL region needs to fix their results pages. They mislabeled 2006 results as 2007. Last I knew, 2007 is just starting. :)

Oh and I almost forgot, You lost to teh MINI also. It may not have won, but it was the last FWD car standing at the Doublecross.
And be nice to KC, he is getting things confused a little more often than not is his old age. Soon he'll be bald like Hoppe too.

What do you want? We outsource that responsibility to a UGA undergrad.
