CC-B,
You have just taken any reason for me to buy an 03 over an 04 and tossed em out da window, you can expect a orcari order from me a few weeks after my 04 is delivered.
Any clue about the price point for the whole kit?

The headlight set is $789.00. The price of the kit is $625.00. Both will be available in the US in a few weeks.
There is also a HID version of the headlights, bbut the pricing has not yet been released.

So from you statement you will need both the kit and the headlight set to get the picture you posted? So the total will be $1414?
| CC-B | 05-06-2003 07:47 PM |
The picture above shows the headlight kit ($789.00), fog light covers ($79.00) and part of the front lip ($269.00 seperately or as part of the full body kit: front lip, rear valance and side skirts)

That would be an awesome product for some of us with the USA '02 and '03 model WRX to purchase!
Or, conversely, can you tell us how you put that together, especially in terms of light selection, housing, and setting it up so the beam patter and aiming are all proper, and in a manner that "stays in alignment" with age and miles?

If the painting questions was directed at me, I won't be painting them. I like the look of them matched with the unpainted loook of the trim, sideskirts and fog covers.
Perhaps one day when I add a body kit I might paint them all.
Worst part, I just want HIDs :)

JDM/EDM lights
This is probably a ridiculous questio but here goes: I've noticed in some pics of people's JDM/EDM lights that they have the projectors on and the high beams very dimly lit Is this a mod done during the installation of the lights? I think it's an awesome look, but wasn't sure if all it takes to achieve that look was just to have the high-beams on. Anyone help is greatly appreciated.

| Zola | 08-06-2003 06:53 AM |
You're probably mistaking the city lights for the high beams. The STI projectors have a city light in the upper outside corner (W5W bulb). These are illuminated while the low beams are on.

People always use flat black paint in their lights... I wonder what a slightly graphite color with a clear-coat over it would look like.
| pjdwrx | 04-01-2004 08:59 AM |
I spent the better part of an afternoon doing it. I really didn't run into any trouble with the lights themselves. I would have been done faster, but I messed up painting one of the pieces, so I had to Goof-Off the paint off and start over.

I'm not sure if this is a state-to-state law, but removing the amber colored reflector off the front corner of a car, whether it be inside the light or just on the fender, is illegal in Washington State. I was pulled over by state patrol here for nothing more than a missing reflector because i did the same mod. Talk about profiling. I didn't know it was illegal till after it was too late. I finally realized every stock car has an amber relector in that similar area. I love my mods as much as the next guy but I love not to be pulled over even more.

How petty to get pulled over for that. Bummer for me if it happens, because I tossed those pieces.
You know though, it wouldn't be the end of the world if I had to put them back in because the rest of the bezel is black and looks better than stock anyway.
