when youre doing the 20 click procedure, make sure you fully remove the buckle from the latch, if not, it wont work correctly. dont just push and click, you have to take the thing out. if not, it wont work.

works like a charm, the chime is gone!
| JiveMasterT | 01-07-2007 07:34 PM |
Yeah I tried it a few times and I couldn't get it to work. One day I got into the car and it was gone. I was thrilled. The thing was though, it would beep even if I wasn't in the seat. Like if I started my car to warm it up and left it running I would return to it a few minutes later and still hear that stupid beep.

Worked like a charm on 2007 Can. spec WRX. Only took like 5 clicks/unclicks too.
Super simple & sweet.
06 WRX annoying seat belt alarm sound HOW TO DISABLE? dealer quoted $70
Does anyone know how to disable an annoying alarm when your seatbelt is not used? It's annoying as hell :( Dealer said $70 to get it taken care of. Just wondering if there's an DIY for it.
Thanks.

The best way to fix this is to wear your seatbelt. It works everytime.

You are a massive douche bag. Try reading a thread once in a while and you'll see that your asinine comment had been made and subsequently flamed several times already. Just wear YOUR seatbelt and S.T.F.U.!!!!!

yeah, i was wondering the same thing. it takes two seconds to unplug the connnector. i did it the first day i got the car too. i think there are 4 connectors under the seat and i had to test each one to see which one controlled the chime. i never hear the chime anymore. im wondering if this is a bad thing to do, cuz no one else seems to be doing this. but i didnt ask anyone about it, i just figured it out on my own.

Seriously. This is a terrible thread containing alot of bad information. I was one of the unlucky few who read the first 70ish posts and did the 20 clicks thing... wow I feel dumb for doing that every time i reset my battery.
SIMPLY UNPLUG THE YELLOW CONNECTOR BELOW YOUR SEAT!!! Problem solved.

Why don't you start your own thread for proper alarm disabling then. I think this is perfect way to temporarily disable it.

Can't you take apart the buckle, and slide the switch down? I forgot what year, but, that is how some of the Legacy's are.
Edit: found it.

I couldn't get mine to work then I did this:
1. Open door and sit down.
2. Turn key to "On" position (IGN)
3. Press and hold red release button on D/S seatbelt buckle.
4. Rapidly insert and pull out the metal chrome buckle 30 times.
5. Turn key to "Off" position
6. Start car and VOILA! only the initial warning chime and nothing more.

I have an 07 and my chime wouldnt go away til I started the car. Then I started buckling and unbuckling over and over for about 20 times then I drove away. You'll notice when it works because not only will the chime go away but so will the seatbelt light in your center console. Only time it chimes is the initial set then the light turns out and the chime stops.

So I went to do this instead of doing the click business. Only thing is there are 2 yellow connectors under my seat.
Any idea how I can tell the difference other than unplug each one and see what doesn't work. Also, not trying to hijack the thread but, does anybody know what all the different connectors are. I think there are 4 and was just curious. Thx
And in THIS shorter and more flame laden post someone says unplug the black one.
