They mite be selling hats and shirts at the track. You would have to ask Scott he will be there.

Yes we are currently working on a vendor page off our website so we can sell hats, shirts, stickers, and even parts (new and old). Be patient and hopefully we can have it up with in the next month.
Hope to see a bunch of Subie supporters at Mid-Ohio, we are leaving in the morning to be there by Wed. morning.
We have done a ton of suspension work in the last month with pick-up points and spring rates, so lets hope its right for the track (we have never been there).
Thank you, Scott

We made it down in time to hear the start and grab our places at the Esses. By the time the field got to us they were already under full course caution and Irish Mike wasn't in the running.
I didn't actually get to see the car, they were loading it up during the first hour of the ALMS race and we had left paddock to go watch that race. Sounded like the left front was pretty mangled.
The good news is that the team heard this morning that they will be allowed to use a 6-speed in the car next time out.
To all at Irish Mike's, it was good to meet you guys and sorry your race didn't go better. Unfortunately we'll be in Oscoda for the Pro Solo when you're in our hometown in June. That's what Tivo is for I guess.

What a great time! The crew at IMR is top notch.....nice group of guys. We had a great time hangin with them. The race kinda sucked and the damage is substantial.....I didn't think we'd be hanging off the trunk to keep the rotor off the ground while towing them back to the trailer but at least they got some good news from the officials beforehand. We as a group need to come out and support these guys whenever possible. Hopefully we'll see them in Cleveland......I owe them some grilled steaks!

hey guys,
WAIT TIL YOU SEE THIS ACCIDENT ON T.V. This was some nascar ****. We just happened to be at the wrong place. Qualified 25th, off the start Mike jumped 7 spots, and if you have ever seen the track in person, there is virtually no room on the front straight and first turn, but we felt good. Just got caught up in someone elses mess.
The reason for the bad Qualifing place, is we broke 1 tranny, and 2 rear ends, so set up time was virtually none existant. But we did manage to break into the 37's after starting the week at 41's. And that was our first time there.
The suspension changes we made are incredible, made a huge difference, so its only going to get better.
SCCA is starting to work with us a little, so watch for more RELIABILITY!
I wanted to thank everyone who came out and supported us, and Jay and Ed for camping out with the SUBARU flag flying.
we have a lot of work to get the car fixed in the 3 weeks for Cleveland, but we plan to show up fulling prepared, I need everyone that can come out to do it, and show Subaru support, so that SCCA sees you have our back, and WE are NOT going anywhere.
Thank you guys
Scott, IMR

As Phil said, we really enjoyed getting to meet you guys Sunday morning. In case you don't have a clue who we are, we were the guy and gal who came over with Ed and Jay after the Touring car race. :) Very sorry that the weekend ended the way it did for you guys. :(

The Buick couldn't get the job done so we fired up our truck and went down to pull them back to the rig. The front end was digging in the ground so they had to "rally ballast" the car with a couple people (my fat arse included) to minimize the damage to the new rotor and caliper. Worked pretty good too.....musta been the BBQ from the night before!!!! Only too happy to pitch in and help out!

Hey guys, I was so sorry to see what happened this weekend. I was the guy from New Jersey. Scott and Mike are great guys, to say the least. The start was amazing, Mike had a great jump going down the straight! It was the worst scenario, to get caught up in other peoples mess.
Jay, it was good talking with you, wish I could make it to Cleveland, but Lime Rock is my next event.
Scott, let me now if you guys need any help July 4th weekend. I don't know a wrench from a hammer, but I'm a decent gopher. By the way, thanks for the fender! It is going to look great on the wall!
I've got a few pics, I will get them up this week if anyone wants to see them.

I was by the race shop yesterday. Mike was attaching a new left front corner to the WRX. The incident at Mid-Ohio took out the hood, left front fender, oil cooler, left front shock, not to mention the left front wheel, rotor, and all the good suspension parts that go with keeping the left front wheel in the proper position. The good new out of all of this, (if you can call any of it good news) was that the frame was not bent, so repairs are being made. Plans are to be in Cleveland and run the Cleveland Grand Prix on June 25 and then pack up everything and head directly to Lime Rock for that race on July 2. Both races are on Saturday. Come out and give us some support and by all means, contact your Subaru dealers and Subaru of America and let them know you are out there. Thanks

Although Team RTR's Spec V used the same H pattern gearbox w/ just a reinforced 3rd gear..

The proposal for the 6sp box was set aside for (other) tranny options today. So no we are not going to use that gear box. But we are working on something with SCCA, so stay tuned to the VTS sheet.

Bummer, I thought you guys had the 6 speed and the R180 rear in with the officials after Mid-Ohio. I'm really sorry that I can't be at the Cleveland race since that's even more local to us than Mid-Ohio but we'll be out of town. If you want support you may want to try posting something on www.lersoc.com which is the local lake Erie region Subaru club. It's tough to get most of those guys out to an autocross but they may show up to provide support for an event where they don't have to drive. Cascade Subaru in the NE-Ohio area has provided discounts and some support to the local Subaru club and may be worth contacting for the race in June. We'll be leaving for Oscoda early Friday but if you guys are in town Thursday night you should definitely hit Jay, Ed and us up for a night on the town.

We are currently working with SCCA and Subaru for some kind of program for next year with new and (different) cars. The thing is Subaru does not seem 100% confident with Subies and road racing. Subaru needs to hear how much the people want to see it in road racing and not just the drag strip or the woods.
Subaru needs to see how it has grown on the tarmac side, no matter if its road racing, solo events or anywhere else we can stick it.
The thing is the car is a really good chassis, even for tarmac, just learning how to use it and finding the weak spots is the key. We have learned more in the past 4 months than we learned in the last 2 years. It is most certaintly going to get better and faster as the season goes on and we hope to be a full fledged competitive car(s) running up front next year.
We plan to run the FULL season next year with a full team and Subaru support. We just need the same support from you guys and every other Subie owner out there and it will work it self out.
The car is coming along and should be 100% by next friday.
so hope to see you out there,
Scott, Irish Mikes Racing

We have learned more in the past 4 months than we learned in the last 2 years. It is most certaintly going to get better and faster as the season goes on and we hope to be a full fledged competitive car(s) running up front next year.
We plan to run the FULL season next year with a full team and Subaru support. We just need the same support from you guys and every other Subie owner out there and it will work it self out.
The car is coming along and should be 100% by next friday.
so hope to see you out there,
Scott, Irish Mikes Racing
This is great to hear! :D I will keep mentioning you guys to the S.O.A. marketing guys that I assist with the Subaru Challenge events. Hopefully we'll see some factory backed Legacy's in W.C. Touring next year! ;)
well, the spec c was tested and designed more so for tarmac than any other subie...IMHO
and I think subaru should back it up, because I can see the tarmac events on TV...the rally ones aren't on tv really
where did you get that info from?
AFAIK the Spec C is just a stripped version of a STi (is there less sound deadening?) It's not prepped for tarmac or gravel rally or anything..it's just a car ready to be turned into a motorsports beast :) ... it doesn't have a special chassis or suspension or anything
So starting from a Spec C will only save you cost, not really anything else

Just so all the Irish Mike's news gets posted to the top of the threads, thle news from Cleveland is Mike was able to post a 1:26.432 on the 9th lap of the second practice. Mike said that there is still more in the car, that he was out on old tires, so hopefully, the new tires for the qualifying will be able to produce a faster time. Mike is only 1.692 seconds off the leader's time and that pretty much tells you that the top ten can be anybody, just whoever gets their tires to come in for that perfect lap can wind up on the pole. Hopefully, the new tires will give Mike more grip. Qualifying is at 11:30 am to 12:00 pm on June 25 and the race will be 5:45 pm to 6:45 pm same day. You can follow the activities at: www.world-challenge.com/2005/events/cle/livetiming.html.

it has a slightly longer wheelbase most suspect to be an ALK...

Anyone in the know what happened at Cleveland and Limerock? Results were back of the pack in both, but the broadcasts had no mention of being involved in collisions.
Where are the updates? Has everyone also been too busy with F1 Indy debacle and Pikes Peak Hill Climb as well?

I witnessed the most dissapointing event ever in my few years of spectating. All the buildup, all the drama, all for a broken rear diff. On the first lap no less! Since Saturday, I've come to terms with it. It's all a part of racing, and the gremlins have showed no mercy on Irish Mike's team this season. Whether it's being involved in a wreck or mechanical failure, all we can hope for is a better run next time. Despite having a bad run, Mike's crew was still in good spirits. Maybe wine country will be more forgiving. A question for Mike's team---Will you guys be allowed to run a aftermarket diff? Or maybe a different trans? I understand the SCCA is still feeling out forced induction, but they should throw you guys a bone now and then! Good Luck at Infineon!

First one: cleveland, Qual. 14th, best yet, started the race and by turn 2 we were in 7th, but Mike got to ancy you could say and got under Curran in 3. Curran closed the door and we hit him (sorry), started back last and in ten laps back up to 15th___we had a very strong car there. ON lap 12 i believe down shifted into turn one and broke an axle. DONE
Second one: limerock, Qual. like 25th, broke tranny in first practice and missed second. Broke of start (rear end) pinion head broke off!!!! DONE.
The reason for the new problems is if you heard on the telivised version of Cleveland, we are running a DOG BOX, we got approved before the race, just didnt say anything. But they did take a 1 lbs. of boost from us.
So the drive line does not like the new box, but we are working on that. We are skipping the next 2 races ( Sonoma, Portland) to do testing and get ready for Denver. We plan to do the last 3 races of the year, so we want to test this new set up to cure all problems.
the car is very strong and is getting closer, just have to get this reliability of the drive train worked out.
Thanks for all the guys who came out, and see you in Denver
Scott, IMR

I was gutted like this at Mid-Ohio, waiting down at the Honda bridge and never seeing my Subby come thru... All because of the Pobst stack-up!
I hope all the best for IMR at the next event they go to.

Makes sense..everytime you strengthen something in the driveline, the next part that wasn't strengthened will fail :P So the previous broken trannies were just masking the weak rear diff as well.
In you opinion can the center and front diffs take the racing abuse too? Will you be asking for a beefier rear diff and axles? Can you use the 05 STi wheel hubs?
