WOW Im amazed of the quality actually looks like the REAL thing, hey wait a Second in the second picture the little rectangle sticker it looks like a price tag on the left side of the spoiler ....
OMG it is a price tag, Now that I think about it I put that price tag on that spoiler and it IS a real mines spoiler.
Just a FYI for you guys, this photo is NOT the mines replica this is a genuine mines spoiler that this person purchased from Fizz Autosports. I know because I work at Fizz and I packed that spoiler myself and I remember not peeling off the price tag. We sent it 2nd day air to San Jose Cali. on Tuesday and sure enough by Friday there are pics of the spoiler posted.
First this saddens me because This piece is too nice and rare to have replicas being mass produced.
Secondly this guy is posting pictures of an original and telling you its his replic. So basically he is trying to get you to pay for something without even seeing the product he claims to have or without you even knowing if he made it yet since he got the spoiler Thursday I doubt he had the time to mold and replicate it.
And Finally But most of all I am most upset because this guy got the spoiler but I wish it went to a TRUE customer who would have better deserved it!
All this time I was thinking wow lucky that guy called today Because ALOT of people called after looking for it. He will be so proud to be one of the few with this spoiler.

Oh and just in case anyone asks these statments I have expressed are mine and mine alone I am not making this statement for Fizz Autosports, I just happen to work there and this stuff personally gets me upset.

Thumbs down to modified toys. I hate it when vendors make false claims. The quality looked too good to be true on his so called 'replica' .

i will take closer picture of that side later on today
so you guys will see that's not the original one or any price tag..
i will take the pic down to avoid further confusion.. a lot of the local tester can atest to the quality of the replica :)

Just to clear a few things up here...
I've been doing business with Richard @ Modified Toys now for about a year. He has been without a doubt one of the best vendors I have ever dealt with, bar none. He would never sell a product to anyone that was sub-par in any way, shape or form. And the last thing he would do is lie to anyone!
Now, about the Mines spoiler. I was the one that got Richard started on making a replica of the spoiler in the first place. I have been getting replicas every few weeks from him and sending them back to get remade. We are trying to get the spoiler as PERFECT as possible before it gets released to the general public.
WRCorolla, I really don't see where your attack came from, you cannot base someone integrity on a digital image. So far as I know Richard/MT have not done anything to you, and there really seems to be no reason for you to attack him. All he is trying to do is bring an awesome spoiler to the general public who can't afford to shell out $400 for a tiny piece of fiberglass...
Again, Richard or I will keep everyone posted on the progress of the spoiler. I should have a fiberglass replica and carbon fiber replica within a week to fit to my car and take pictures of to show to all you folks!
Thanks for your understanding!

So do you deny purchasing the spoiler this week from Fizz and getting it 2nd day air? You can easily peel off the sticker now or replace it with something else after I've pointed it out and take another picture Heck you can even photoshop it. I dont want to turn this into a flame war so Im not gonna say anything else after this post, but be assured I am quite confident that I sent it to you maybe not to your shop but perhaps Richards home address I dont want to post your last name or any personal info but I think you know im not lying.
No one says anything about having a replica till someone purchases an original from Fizz 2nd day air and then suddenly a post comes up saying that there is a replic, the day after the person who bought the original from Fizz received it. Uncanny eh?
I am angered because I personally dont like replicas and I think having somthing rare like a Mines spoiler makes it even more valuable. The anger shows because I beleive I helped aid someone in creating a replica. Its not a personal attack to anyone but more of a statement. Had I known I woulda paid for that spoiler outta my own pocket just so I wouldnt have to had sent it out.

what little rectangle sticker are you talking about? I see absolutely nothing... am I going blind?
I agree with you about the whole allure of parts being rare and how it makes the value of something mean so much more because nobody else has it... but honestly, I don't think a ton of people will have this even when the replica version is out because it's not everyone's style... I've heard a lot of people in THIS thread saying they like it, but I've also seen a lot more people saying it looked like absolute crap in another thread (which I don't get at all, the thing is beautiful).
Also, I came to the realization a long time ago that sooner or later, those rare parts that everyone wants are going to be made into replicas... that's just capitalism and there's nothing I can really do about it. So while I do see your point and agree that it is valid, I'm not about to pay that ridiculous price for a real Mines lip spoiler. I like the way it looks, I want it on my car because I want to like the way my car looks, so I'll take the lower price for a knock-off. If I had the money to, I'd spring for the real thing, I always try to, but until I win the lottery that's just the issue I have to deal with.

i don't see what all the fuss is about. you can gripe about people making replicas for 1/2 the price but there are people like me, who honestly, would not pay $400 for that spoiler (or $650), i don't care if it was the only one in the world. you guys jump at m/t for bring out a replica, what about every replica sti part out there? what about all the replica body kits floating around, or zerosports products? i bet about 80% of us have some sort of replica on our cars at th moment.
fact of the matter is, original or not, spending $400 for a fiberglass version of the mines spoiler or $650 for the c/f version is insane. with that kind of markup, they deserve to lose business. i am also guessing that even if it is a "replica" it will not be exact, just a very close takeoff of the same idea. same "crime"? maybe...
as far as what richard purchased or posted pics of, i have no idea. i do know that regardless of what is posted here, i will be trying out one of the replicas. if it wasn't for his efforts, i wouldn't even think of buying one for the inflated price, rare or not.
my thoughts and opinion only.:)

OK one more point please sorry said I wasnt gonna post again but this must be seen.
I know that this image is not my property and not claiming it to be it is a link from the same person that has this "REPLICA" <Cough Modifiedtoys.com Cough>
please see in this picture this is the ORIGINAL MINES INSTRUCTIONS that I also included in the package if the link disappers like the other that i refered to it is because it PROVES what I have stated and someone doesnt want you to know that im telling the truth notice the picture that was taken on the couch is missing? Thats because in that picture you could see the original instructions on the couch so someone thought I would point it out so it was removed. Please see this pic

Replicas you guys are right cannot be helped but please tell me is it right for this guy to posts pics of an original item when he is trying to sell you replicas?

I dunno...on the one hand the whole 2nd day air thing does seem fishy, and I know there are quite a few scams going on around the board. But then the whole "I don't like replica" excuse makes WRCorolla looks like a snob. Maybe he has good intentions but puts out in the strong way.
Anyway, there's only one way to find out: someone be the guine pig and (looking around for noobs ;) ) take the MT bait and report back!

good fiberglas worker will always get a good replica..
and also.. we are not posting anything for sale yet.. so no scam involved.. we are trying to help all other scooby owners that can't afford the real thing..
why not cry to those people that duplicates cwest, jun, cusco, sti wings???
we will post a pic later of our mines wing mold.. so no doubt about our quality

It does seem fishy, yes, but I'm in MA, not CA. And Richard told me he got the origional wing from Mines directly in JP (that was months ago)...
We have been working on a replica for a while, and perhaps it may be a coincidence, but as I've said M/T does have a replica, I've had a replica...
And onto the whole replica thing. I do agree that making a replica of something isn't always the best thing. It does ruin some of the exotic nature of some parts. But $400 for a tiny piece of fiberglass? Come on, let's get serious... As I said above, we want to give people the option of buying this product for what it should cost...

Who gives a rats A$$ if it is a replica, I am not spending 400-600
on a lip spoiler. I would love to have one right now and if there was a reasonable priced replica I would buy it tomarrow. It is exotic yes, but all the AM wheels out there that are replicas...I do not here anyone complaining. I will take a replica right now. Fake or not. Just be reasonable on the price. The aftermarket industry is what keeps oem suppliers in check. But I really want that spoiler.

MT said in the first thread that c o l o r carbon fiber replica is coming soon. Well if that's the case then I'd say he's legit. Can't get those anywhere.
If this is a scam...man ppl are really doing this the big way: i mean investing 400 bucks for a spoiler...you gotta scam quite a few ppl just to call it even!

This the usual case of alot to do about nothing,,,,,,
1st off it's not in the vendors for sale forum, Richard just informed us something is in the works. No prices given and if you had emailed him you would see he is not taking orders at this time.
I personnaly dont give a rats pattooti if it's a picture of the real deal "holy grail of deck spoilers" the famous "mines spoiler" or not. Some of us requested a replica of that overpriced piece of fiberglass and Richard responded.
Good quality replica parts are a bygone conclusion, live with it!
Richard has my name on file, when they are available i will get one.If they are great youl hear about from me,it if its junk youl hear that too.
Rudy:D
ps,if anybody cared to read back through this entire post you would have seen Sean's (Schleppy) heads up about this part being worked on as a replica. So all this didnt just start this week:rolleyes:

i believe it is an australian or eurpoean rear lip. it's not the standard us spec oem rear although the design seems similar.

You couldn't see through my sarchasm? I thought for sure the comment on the brick of gold would have tipped you off. You would have to be sick to spend 4-500 bucks on a piece of fibreglass or plastic that costs about 2 bucks. Even considering R&D and import costs, you would be getting ripped off. To each their own though I guess. I would pay maybe 200 for it unpainted at the most.

also.. here's a finish replica painted in blue.. of another famous front lip spoiler.. (i don't think i need to mention any names..) ;)

Replica looks great....not sure what you're talking about when you say strap though. Any word on pricing?
Is is a 240? maybe a supra?

Here's some rough photoshop of what it would look like if the lip was moldded into the trunk. Makes for a much cleaner look!
EDIT: Can't get pic to work so here's the LINK

Will the Mine's lip fit on the lid with STI CF Wing, and would it look right? Photoshop anyone, just a thought? It would definitely be a double-whammy if it works! Come to think about it, it might be too much CF? What do you folks think?

well, IMHO, to me the whole look of that lip spoiler is keeping things clean... simple and subtle. Combining it with another wing on top of it, esp. the STI CF one would just be entirely too much (sort of along the lines of having triple deck spoilers and such). I know this was supposedly originally designed to go with the OEM spoiler, but I love the way it looks alone, and only alone. Keep things clean! Just my thoughts. I've never actually seen one with a CF sti wing, so I'm just going on mental images.

I was in NYC last week (yup, during the blackout) and while walking through chinatown I walked right by the FIZZ autosports yellow wrx with this lip spoiler on it. I was like, "hey, I recognize that car!"
In person it looks even better....really really nice. Wow.

Bmup...any new info from anyone??

Called FIZZ today and they have 3 of the CF in stock for $695 (YIKES!) and out of stock of the fiberglass that goes for $495. The guy said it would take 2-3 months to get them in regardless of which one you order. All this time I thought $495 was for the CF?

I don't get it how many people want one ????
We can't get anyone to get them in a reasonable time and $.
We are all willing to spend good old cashish and no one wants to take it.

Just a quick correction.
$625 for the CF one expensive maybe, but its not $695.00. Also like you said we have the CF one IN STOCK so if you were to order it, it would not take 2-3 months to get the carbon fiber one it would only take as long as UPS takes from us to you.
And the 2-3 month wait ALL depends on the stock Mine's has in Japan if its in stock at Mines in japan standard wait time is about 4 weeks.
:D

$625..........$695............ What's the difference, noone can afford it or will be willing to fork out at either price? No flame intended by the way, just frustated with over priced items! I guess that's the difference with ballers and just shot callers on the side lines!

What happened to the replica ones getting done?
This is something we can easily have done, and it would not take long at all to accomplish, but I don't want to stpe on anyone else's toes.....
Keep us posted!
