Bagged? its not that extreme... looks like shaved doors and all bagged on 19s... no kit?
wgknestrick 04-14-2004 06:44 PM

Does "extreme" entail hideously ugly?
|Thrax| 04-14-2004 07:21 PM

EXTREMEly ugly or not, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
Butt Dyno 04-14-2004 10:16 PM

Forgive the obvious but how do you get into the car?

john
G-force 04-14-2004 11:48 PM

remote control with selinoids (sp?) - one to unlock the door and another that pushes the door away from the locking mechanism.
Butt Dyno 04-14-2004 11:53 PM

So if your remote dies...?

john
redwagon 04-15-2004 12:23 AM

Wait a minnit, is that a 3-door? I don't see a parting line at the back of the rear doors...
b_tapper 04-15-2004 12:35 AM

ooo i like
1DOWNCLOWN 04-15-2004 10:26 AM

i think it looks good... i like show and go so i have to admire the work that was put into this car...
shaved98impreza 04-15-2004 10:30 AM

whoa... lots of responses... let's start from the top...
it's bagged.. but it's on 18"s.. it is pretty extreme considering how much work has gone into it.. handles aren't that easy to shave.. all 5 are gone.. and all of the body lines on the whole car... can't have a kit.. because I'm tubbin it soon and I would crush the kit everytime I layed it on the pinch molding.

Thrax is right.. beauty is in the eye of the beerholder... I think body kits that look like airplane parts are the ugliest things you can do to a poor car..

Gforce is right about about the solenoids.. if the remote or the battery dies.. I've got a spot to pull a open cord.

and it's a 4 door..
shaved98impreza 04-15-2004 12:41 PM

:D thanx down clown.. a lot of people don't realise how much work shaving things really is..
dcoty 04-15-2004 01:45 PM

I really like your car, never seen a wagon like that before! that probably took a lot of time to get it looking like that.
Dan:)

Any future plans for it?
1DOWNCLOWN 04-15-2004 02:01 PM

i built show cars for years (Cadi, Civic, other things like that) i even built a few Hydro comp. so i have spent many hours shaving and painting things.. I know it takes time and skill to do these things. The most important thing to rememeber is that its your car and who cares what everyone else likes, but when you ask for peoples opinions than rememeber your going to get both good and bad...
sawlid 04-15-2004 02:46 PM

Thats probably the most insane looking L have seen lately,

I kind of like it, looks cartoonish almost.

I would lose that grill though
RuCKuS 04-15-2004 02:53 PM

cool!...how long did it take you to complete it?...props for all the work...
LDragon 04-15-2004 03:00 PM

that is awesome. i am trying to get into more serious bodywork like shaving and custom body kits and i see how much work there is. that is a great job.
CyC 04-15-2004 03:03 PM

lose teh roof rack :p
piker28 04-15-2004 03:12 PM

i personally think its horrendous but thats just me
CrazyMike13 04-15-2004 04:47 PM

What grill is that? NICE car!
shaved98impreza 04-15-2004 05:19 PM

not sure about the grill.. one of my friends bought it for me for christmas.. thanks for all the props.. it took a really long time.. I don't know exactly how long.. It was in the shop on and off for quite some time.. I hear ya on the roof rack.. but I had it off just after painting it orange.. and it made it look.. not subaruish.. (if you know what I mean).. so I threw it back on.. plus.. I would've liked to have a 3 foot sliding rag on it.. and my girl would have to have somethin to hold on to while standin out of it at shows..
1DOWNCLOWN 04-16-2004 08:01 AM

that grill is the SPT one isnt it?? I like it... of cource its the one on my car so i have to say i like it.. other wise i wouldnt have got it
DetroitWRX 04-16-2004 09:57 AM

I don't like the color or the wheels but man that is a clean looking car. I like how smooth it looks, the body lines just look great with the handles removed and nothing cluttering them up.
dcoty 04-16-2004 03:46 PM

Yeah...roofrack has to go! Still like it though, id give it a second glance if i walked by it!
Dan:)
shaved98impreza 04-16-2004 05:13 PM

Yeah.. it gets second glances a lot.. specially when I air it out and throw sparks.. lol:lol:
shaved98impreza 04-16-2004 05:18 PM

All things considered.. this is how she started out..

pic no worky
shaved98impreza 04-16-2004 05:36 PM

should work now..
IronMonkeyL255 04-16-2004 07:41 PM

Looks like someone started with the rear handles when you got it.....

You did a very good job. That's not my taste in cars, but I respect all the work that went into it and how proud you must be of it.
b20z2 04-17-2004 02:56 PM

I hate it.
sirbryanclark 04-17-2004 11:45 PM

hate is such a strong word
collegedropout 04-18-2004 12:33 AM

its not a subaru its a sundance
suicide doors, shave this, shaved that, bagged, winged

vadim 04-18-2004 12:59 AM

shaved98impreza, so ok remote dies, you got a cord, what if the battery dies? You got a way to open that hood with that ugly grill on it? I think the color and the entire car is ugly. Sorry but subaru!=civic. (!= means does not equal)

collegedropout, that is even uglier then this poor wagon.

edit: one more thing, it doesn't matter if you spent your entire life doing this ugly thing, just because it takes a lot of effort to make an orange it doesn't mean that it deserves the credit. And those rims, OMG... where on earth did you find such an ugly color? I believe it should be called puke orange...

BTW, it would look a lot better on four full size spares..

man, you gotta stop hatin....just because you dont like it means you have to be so harsh about...youve gotta give the man credit, hes an enthusiast right? thats all that matters
shaved98impreza 04-19-2004 10:33 AM

Wow.. vadim.. I'm happy that you can be passionate about something... but if you don't like it.. just "it's not really my style" said it right there.. to each his own.. if everyone liked it, they would have just built it like that.. and no one would make the parts. So, I respect your opinion.. but you don't have to be a dickhead about it.. so why don't you double your dosage, take a deep breath.. and count to ten.. you're going to give yourself a heart attack.. :furious:

I couldn't figure out why you're such a dick.. then I found out you're from Jersey.. so it's not really your fault that you're mad about everything.
sonicblue 04-19-2004 08:51 PM

ok, help me out - how do you shave the body lines? I mean, the doors still separate when you open them, right? Is there like a sealer strip painted orange that makes the line "disappear" when the door closes?

And I have to give you credit, dude - some people laid down some serious hate on your car and you took it all in stride (even with that Jersey dude that really went nutz on ya')! Good stuff not hatin' back......
collegedropout 04-19-2004 09:24 PM

When you shave a body line you just remove it from the panels IE fill it in, hammer it out, or cut it out in general. The purpose is tho have a completely smooth panel. I dont believe he removed the door gaps and body panel gaps. If you wanted to remove those you would have to weld up the doors and mold the panels together. In the picture I believe the angle makes the gaps disappear.
JC 04-19-2004 09:39 PM

It's an SYMS replica grill, probably from ebay. A Ver. 5 grill with an RS bumper (or Ver. 4) would look tons better IMHO. Maybe some P1s or darker rims too. I like it though. Rear shots? Interior?

You lost "Subarish" w the 19s, orange paint, and 1.5in of clearance.

Props on the time, thought, and design you incoporated into the car though. If it makes you smile when you see it then do what you gotta do!

Like a rider friend of mine said, "Drop cliffs, not bombs!"

It's not my style - but if I saw you driving around I'd definitely give you a thumbs up.

Samirr76 04-20-2004 08:42 AM

Can this thread be merged with the Rice Thread in the Gallery? :p

Seriously though, I would also suggest a better grill and RS bumper as well as better, more Subaru'ish wheels like Rotas, OZs, Volks, etc. It will give you the Subaru brand image rather than just looking like every other showcar civic on the road.

It has potential, just need some tweaks.
piker28 04-20-2004 09:42 AM

nah yo he b neeDin SpiNNaZ yo!
shaved98impreza 04-20-2004 10:31 AM

Not real big on spinners.. just not my thing.. as for loosin the "subaruish" with the 1.5" clearance.. when it's aired up.. it has more clearance that it did when it was just on drop springs.. more than stock.. it's not a photochop, but I get that a lot.. all four doors still work.. the bodyline that I shaved was the one that went through the center of the door and all the way around the car.... and here is a rear picture and a side view...

omg it has air ride:(
shaved98impreza 04-20-2004 10:38 AM

yep cylenders in the back and strutbags in the front
redwagon 04-20-2004 10:55 AM

It's photochopped. Nice work, but your rims and tires aren't round, they're too big for 18's and your front track is much wider than the rear.
Oh, and no-one would go to that much trouble, and then leave the finger catch on the fuel door and the trim part on the rear fender. Nice try, but no cigar. The green wagon is how your car looks now, and the orange one is how you hope it looks when you finish. Good luck with that, I hope it works out.
CrazyMike13 04-20-2004 10:59 AM

I don't understand why this car is so hard to believe.
HolyMahwah 04-20-2004 11:39 AM
I don't understand why this car is so hard to believe.
The pictures are not of the best quality. They are lo-res JPGs with a high degree of pixelation. This means that they could be fudged and not many people would notice. Also, the first image seems to have been the victim of Smudge and/or Clone Stamp, IMHO.

On the other hand, it also seems to me like the reflections on the body panels are accurate. The source and direction of exterior lighting also appears consistent, albeit the fact that they were taken on a partly cloudy day, and not all at the same time.

Has this car been to any shows? Somebody must have seen it somewhere...

just because people dont believe your car is real and if it is your just pissed cause everyone thinks its a piece of crap and should be burned
MB38 04-20-2004 06:09 PM

Eh, if people are so worried that it's photoshopped, just ask him to post a close-up image of it. If he delivers, bingo, if he doesn't, no bingo.
vadim 04-21-2004 12:20 AM

sorry for being a dick, but it's fugly... not my style or anything ever to come close to..
Everyday I see rejects on the road that thing it's a cool thing to pimp out their rides.. They make us, our generation look like bunch of homosexual crackheads because they paint those cars all kinds of different rainbow colors.
If I was a cop, I'd just pull over these kind of people for anything stupid they do, like forget to turn on the turn signal..
anyways.. good luck with your ride but it's ugly, at least you should have painted it (if it's real) a normal color.
redwagon 04-21-2004 02:30 AM

Anger management much?

Sure glad you're not a cop dude.
wrxxxrated 04-21-2004 02:37 PM

I don't get it? Everyone wants their car to be different on here and..this guy put in more time and effort than 90% of us and gets smoked...

hey shaved...I respect your work, and LIKE IT! What kind of bags are on it? I just might bag mine to piss everyone off?

lol... it's not photochopped.. here are some things you can check out to show ya.. and Jersey guys.. even vadim.. sorry about the cracks about Jersey.. I know a couple really cool people from Jersey, I was just a little bugged... anyways.. here are those sites.. the tripod one takes FOREVER to load.. but has the most pictures..
