Anyone have Altezza style tail lights?

I was just wondering if anyone here has clear tail lights..?? I was at HIN at Del Mar and saw the APC WRX and it had, i guess, the APC clear tail lights. Fockin ugg! They have like a spikey kind of reflector for the side. Ill try to get the pic smal enought to post...but yea, anyone here have altezza lights? Any pics?

wow, i just did a search for altezzas and so much about them came up. i guess these are the "new" APC lights with the ghey refletors on the side. when used properly, these lights COULD look dope, most of the time, no.

the rims are racinghart cp-035r's. they're forged aluminum and are some of the best lightweight rims you can get (i'd get em over the ssr comps). they're polished silver, not anthracite. the pic just had weird lighting.

APC did a great job of ruining that car. They are supposed to give it away eventually. I hope the person who wins it strips it and re-paints it.

Those would be CPO-35r's they come in 18" only i believe. Look to pay a pretty penny for those badboys. I believe they only come in that polished silver or chrome...very nice imo!

i don't know of a site that sells them, but...
i would be surprised if APC (or a similar co.) doesn't start selling
them very soon. you may want to email/call them and see what
their plans are.
also, someone was organizing a group buy (maybe an 'all the
time buy') on these types of lights in the classifieds. may want
to check there - the thread is like "clear tail lights, do or die".
that said, i don't advocate putting them on your car. ;) unless you
can find some like the is300 (where they aren't totally clear),
those might look ok...we'll see...

i totally agree with the apc+wrx=lame equation. they added that extremely ugly paint job and those lights aren't doing our car any favors. And i come from a younger generation (17) who think those lights are 'phat'. Personally i would try to keep the car looking clean with JDM taillights if they differ at all.

Courtesy of APC and Super Street :rolleyes: Super Street is the one giving the car away, look in an issue... I know the WRX is not included in the list, but there is other inherent problems like the lenses fall out, and in addition they leak water and fog up all the time. I have seen this on all types of cars, personally I would stay away, but do as you wish it is your car and money.

Man....I wanted to get the Altezza style lights, BUT if you have the JDM black up front...why wouldn't you use black/carbon fiber instead of chrome on the back? I don't think it would look as bad if it was a silver WRX though. IMO.

Personally, i think the stock looks too conservative and boxy. Is there any tail light covers? Besides the aqua one? Man, i really wish someone who knew how to make these things make one that actually looks good. All i think they need to do is cover some parts of the outer bottom portion of the tail lights and make it look a little more wicked and aggressive, then it'd be all good. Either that or have one that makes it look something like a skyline's rear? You know, have covers that show like 2 holes through each taillight. Not holes, but you get the picture. I would do something on paintpad or something, but it wont turn out right. :rolleyes: Anyways, i don't think the rear is ugly, just could use a little something here and there.

I have to say I'm proud of you guys for actually keeping this topic civilized for once :). I personally don't like them and I'd hate to see them on any Subaru (I live near the center lair of these silly lights I swear :D) but to each their own. I don't think demand in this community will ever be high enough to have them produced, but the WRX is mighty popular, so who knows?

You know i have been avidly against these lights since i saw them on the APC car. After the photoshop by ummmmmm i forget who I dont think they looked that bad really. Matter of fact of a black WRX i dont think they would that bad at all. Would i ever get them ....NO but hmmmmm. I think what enhanced the uglinest was the color of the car. Tangerine uggggggg,

I would like to have something different as well. Not quite that showy, but different. Personally, I want much brighter reverse lights, I can barely see anything at night when I back up. The back window is tinted, but no more than any other car that I've owned. The WRX to me is very different form every other car I've owned/driven, in both very good and very bad ways.....mostly good:cool:

I would be very interested if they sold these in the black backround opposed to the chrome. I have not seen these for sale. Are the ones in the picture merely a prototype or do they manufacture them yet? Where, if availible, can they be purchased?

The lights ruin hondas, they should ONLY belong to the Toyota/Lexus lineup(RX300 has em as well, which is not a Toyota in Japan, if its in Japan at all).

The new Altima has those lights too. They look pretty good on it because it is more of a luxury car.
The reason people get mad about them on a Subaru is because it is just bad taste. We get mad because someone who would put those on their Subaru knows zero about the Impreza's roots.
