1) don't get my wrong I appreciate you helping me out, regardless of whether I would have still asked for the button knowing what you had to do to replace it.
2) The original button fell off just driving around, so I don't know what went wrong but it wasn't on there well enough. Do you glue it? it seemed just to be a press fit. Yes it was my fault the second one came off I suppose, but considering it was a new button and the previous one showed no signs of glueing I assumed that whatever tolerance caused my first one to fall off would have a small chance of being repeated in the replacement button.
3) While I'm sure this wasn't your intent, replacing a button that fell off under very tame conditions should be the least you can do and it almost seems that I am somehow a nuisance because it happened to me. It's unfortunate that it requires you to pry it off a new gauge, had I known that I probably would not have asked, but I still do not understand why you can't just have the contracted manufacturer or even go directly to the supplier and have them send you a couple extra buttons instead of telling me how you cannot sell an entire gauge because of a tiny peice of aluminum. Being made to feel bad about requesting a tiny replacement peice of metal on a 100$ gauge is really not what I wanted.

I recently have Oil pressure and Boost gauges installed. The oil pressure was a bit of a PITA because I didn't get the sandwich adapter thing. But all turned out great. Thanks Prosport.

I am sure you can understand that their has never been a need to stock buttons -but we will have some made and stock them in the future.

Ok this thread look like it is alive so I will share some of my experience. I bought 3 gauges premium series. My first bad luck was with prosport oil sandwich adapter. When I install that and start the car it was leaking all over the place especially around bought plugs and oil temp. Sensor. So I order new oil sandwich adapter but this time from GREEDY and that one work just fine. No leaks at all. Anyway I install everything and drive my first test drive. After first 2 miles I get warning beep from my oil temp. Gauge and when I look I have 300F. I know there was something wrong with gauge and not with my car so I finish a shopping and drive home. First I look on sensor placements and this is what I find out.
It looks like my car generate some serious heat.

This look ok until I strip that cover. See that red wire? Its cooked :-( So I must cut of more until I get clean wires.

Now, this is my solution and I hope this will work.

Installed: Nothing touches headers or up pipe so hope this will be just fine. There are 2 layers of that heat shield. I just bought that stuff in AutoZone. Originally is for spark plug wires by DEI Heat Shield

Hope this will not burn again, what do you guys think?
Also have question to Prosport. Every time I turn my car my gauges are reset I have this setting for purpose because when I have my setup with 12V constant for memory and turn off my car those gauges didnt shut off immediately but one by one on some weird order and some dimming steps and when I turn my car back ON Peek light was not synchronized. Also if I replaced (add) those burn cables with another one can I make those gauges inaccurate? Those cables are same diameter like original.
PS: Can I order some parts like for example if I want to replace those cables or can I order sensors only?
My Boost gauge works fine only I use different housing I bought black thick rubber house from AutoZone and secure that with clamps where filter is and sensor input. Looks more clean and OEM.
This is my inside panel.

I dont know yet I will drive this week and check those cables Friday before Wilmington meet. I dont know why that prosport sandwich leaks but Greddy sandwich looks more durable also have double o-ring gasket on top which looks more functional then flat gasket on prosport. Other then that prosport gauges are still nice and good product for the money.

good thing i read this post because i was going to buy an oil pressure gauge from them but now i dont think i will until that problem with the oil sensor is fixed
| CyborgX_CZ | 08-06-2007 11:24 AM |
I dont have any problem with my sensor only problems I have been with temp. Sensor but as you see what happened It was basically my fault. I tough they are built stronger but I guess nothing survive direct contact with headers or close range especially if you running aftermarket with out heat shield. I taped mine with heat protective tape and I find out there are some places when even that tape got burn through out.

Note that the Subaru part mentioned above is a British Pipe Thread part. That means it's slightly different threads than the NPT standard. If you want an NPT version, you can get that

Wait so this plug replaces the stock oil plug with one that has threading for a sensor?
I also have a problem that developed after a track day where my boost pressure gauge doesn't show vacuum pressure but the car runs fine! My AVCR shows vacuum just fine, so im guessing its the gauge... I have the mechanical one BTW

Yes, this replaces your stock oil galley plug and then install any 1/8" NPT sender.

we just did one of these in the shop, i definitely suggest if you do it under the IC that you remove all the hosing before you start as it will make it much easier to work and make sure you have a hollow 22mm socket to tighten it...

It's common to have a restrictor inline for a boost gauge. It slows down momentary fluctuations, so the gauge isn't hopping around so much, and the movement is smoother.
Sounds like the poster above put the restrictor inline with some other part. The restrictor should only be on the boost gauge line.

yea maybe a restrictor in the boost tubing/line but not in the tee...
i can barely blow through one side of the tee to the other...its like clogged.
and i looked at the tee and didnt see any brass restrictors just a peice in the middle that just tapers the ID down way too much.
everythings fine now.
I switched the tee fiting that came with it for another one and the cars perfect again.

I ordered 3 gauges from them a volt meter, oil press and oil temp. I had them on white during the day and amber when my park lights are on. I also ordered the oil filter sandwhich plate for the sending units and they were also a perfect fit and very nice finish as well.I have them mounted on the factory looking center gauge pod 52mm.
I am going to finish wiring the gauges today. The oil temp gauge and voltmeter does its opening dance already but the oil press the needle just stays at max when the car is on. Hopefully when I wire it to the sending unit it should be okay.
When the sending unit is installed in the sandwhich adapter it can only go in one way to clear any obstruction by the sending unit that is the sending unit is pointing towards the oil pan.
My oil press gauge was even on back order and arrived 3 days after I received the first 2. They have great prices, products and service I hope they can keep it that way even if they grow to be a huge success which I think they will.
I will post pictures after everything is complete.

I am thinking about ordering up the 52mm oil pressure and fuel pressure gauges. Do they come with a gauge holder/stand as well that you can mount on the dash? so that you can mount it on the dash with some doublesided tape?
Also, what is the best way to install the oil pressure gauge? With the sandwich adapter? or just through the top by removing the stock oil pressure sender and installing the one with the gauge?
Thanks

No they cannot be dimmed down, and can be hard to see during the day, especially the blue ones (which I found out after I bought them-could not be read on a sunny day.)
They are very bright at night. I'm putting some stage gels in them dim the output, as well as change lenses to clear, for better daytime visibility.

I just want to say that no matter what anyone says about narrow band o2 sensors not being accurate, or capable for tuning. We just had a dyno day last weekend, and through out the 9 or 10 pulls we did, my Prosport "narrow" band A/F gauge read dead on compared to the ecu readout using open ecu. I do agree it would be nice to have a wider spectrum but theese gauges are awesome.....I just wish the blue showed up better during the day :)
| jigga | 09-09-2007 10:55 AM |
but are these gauges actually dead reliable like one would find from other manufacturers out there? I am see-sawing between going cheap and getting one of these or just paying the premium and going for the Omori WRX-look oil pressure gauge which will 100% match the green gauge with yellow needle setup as stock on my 02 car.
| Prosport Gauges | 09-09-2007 02:00 PM |
They are just as or more accurate then most gauges on the market. we make gauges and component parts for many other OEM gauge companies out their. Don't be fooled by the price-they are priced low because we do not advertise in any magazine saving hundreds of thousands per year!!

i'm buying my gauges from you guys soon, want to hook me up some good deals?
| quadtard | 09-17-2007 11:36 AM |
I am about to install my gauges, but I mixed up the connectors for the electric boost and the electric oil pressure gauges. they use the same color wires, but are in different orders. one is red-orange-black-white-green, the other is white-orange-red-black-green. can someone look at the back of their connectors and tell me which is which. thanks.

Quad- I talked to you on the phone..let me know if you need anything else.
Suby*Do - Too bad you could not make it to NOPI ** We were discounting our products their and we were packed...as expected we sold out of lots of items-especially our fiberglass header wrap. That was the first to go!
Many thanks to all who came out, we had a great time and saw lots of cars with our gauges... I did not see any other gauge company giving away free ***** to any car we spotted with our products/Decals... Thanks to everyone representing Prosport.
No time to rest...Next month we will be at SEMA so stop by if you are there. Booth #11763

| JLwrx06 | 09-18-2007 08:23 AM |
got your water temp. oil press, and egt gauge, but have not hooked them up. need someone to help me. but as soon as i get them hooked up i will post a report.

JLWRX06 - thanks..Did you get the oil galley plug or oil filter adaptor to mount that sender? Same for the water temp sender-38mm is the size you need for our radiator hose adaptor-that will make mounting the senders a breeze.
07WRXTR- The install is pretty straight forward-follow the directions and the install will go smooth ;)

I'm about to order a "premium series" electrical boost gauge. Will I need to buy anything else for the installation? I think i'm just going to use the included mounting cup and install on my steering column until I figure out if I want to buy more gauges or not...

Nevermind it looks like it does! ;)
