just a week haha....

well come to find out not so good on the gauges. I used the galley plug kit and about stripped the threads in the block. It felt like it went in straight when installing, but come to find out it angled a little and crossthreaded:(.... It left a nice puddle of oil to right on top of the block and all underneath my car. So i will be changing to a different location, because the old galley plug barely threaded back in (luckily went back in, haha). Come to find out this seems to be a common occurence so be fricken careful when doing it. And yes care was taken to make sure nothing got into the oil. That could have been real ugly. Ill probably be changing to a sandwich plate....we shall see.

wow sorry to hear that!!! i have the sandwich plate and have had no issues/leaks with it whatsoever.

I'd rather strip a brass galley plug than the threads on the block. I think they made them brass for a reason, so that it gives before the block threads if someone cross-threads it.

Was going to try to call you all today but you are on the east coast so you were closed. Don't know if you will respond to this over the weekend or not.
I have a 52mm water temp thats having issues. the car has been on jackstands since last April. I replaced a tranny and suspension. Nothing was touched with the wiring or gauges. When started the water temp gauge peggs instantly. I checked the sending unit ground and found it was good. So I bought another sender and installed it today. No change. I hooked the old sender up directly to the battery ground and while the key was "on" the temp gauge bounced in a perfect rythm. But as soon as I started the needle went to the pegged mark. Any ideas? My egt and boost gauges work fine and there was never a issue before I blew up the transmission.

Has anyone seen this happen?
It's happened twice, and if I restart the car it goes away. It only seems to be happening when the car has been parked in the sun all day. It's not even that hot here, like 70 degrees.
It's lighting up both white and green, and when I flip the lights on/off it won't change. The others work fine and they're all hooked up to the same source wires.

Looking for some help installing my oil temp gauge, i have an 08 hatch 2.5i. A friend of mine suggested using the stock spot on the block just below the alternator, has anyone done this? any kind of adapter needed? thanks for the help!
| Prosport Gauges | 04-28-2010 04:46 PM |
It seems like you are not on a 12v circuit for the orange and white wires.. meaning you most likely are wired into a dimmable circuit and thus it is not getting the full 12v needed to make the guage change colors. Check the circuit with a mutimeter and confirm the volatge.

You would need one of our oil galley plugs. this would allow you to screw the sender into that spot.

The plug already comes pre-coated with thread sealant (we thought of everything) and no oil comes "flying out" it may drip a few drops at the most.

I had this problem a long time ago when I used to run the adapter plate. It's a tight fit but it can be done. You have to really wedge it on there, and loosen a few things around it to get it to fit.
Keep at it!

I had their premium gauges in my old car. EGT, Turbo, and Oil Pressure. 2 years I used them and not once did they ever malfunction. Buy them, you'll be happy!

Heard good and bad story's about the gauges, but deicided on getting them (60mm)Boost,Oil Pressure, and EGT.Now one month later the EGT took a crap on me.
Work fine until 2 days ago.Start the car, and the EGT start at 2400,then the needle goes up and down when I step on the gas. When I'm on the gas the needles Max's out, always.
What do you guys think,is it the sensor or some kind of electrical problem?

Not sure if this has been covered previously in the thread but, if I were to install a premium boost gauge, could I use the sensor location that the stock Lamco boost gauge utilizes? My car came with that stock gauge and I'm thinking about swapping it out.
| FCmaniac | 07-20-2010 06:39 AM |
I have a year now on the premium electronic boost gauge and no probs at all. I also have a standard oil temp (no probs) and oil pressure. The pressure sender must be Fubar'd because the gauge is always pegged at the max now.
