only 10psi WOT, close enough? isnt the hole point of a boost gauge to get accuracy? i dunno if mine is being off as well lately, im suppose to be boosting 17.5 peak and has been reading that but lately it wont go passed 13 psi. I dunno if my car itself is not reaching target boost or this boost guage is just inaccurate...because butt dyno still pulls harder than ever...

Seems to be a common thing, I'm working on this now. I replaced my lines with stanless braided lines, clamps at all ends to eliminate the possibility of a leak. That did help reaction, the gauge is much crisper reading now. Re-checked the wiring connections, all good. The reading is still off quite a bit. I will be data logging soon to see if it's the car or the gauge. Update will come shortly.

Anybody have these in an 04 or newer WRX, I'm real curious to see how well they match the stock green gauges. The pics they have on their site seem real bright, almost too bright.
I currrently have a 60mm Greddy boost gauge which I mounted in the Left A/C vent, but I want to toss my AEM Wideband there.
Pics of these gauges(GREEN) installed with the stock ones in the background would be greatly appreciated.

the greens are a little brighter than the stock gauges but its not that far off...if your real anal about it matching these might not be the ones for you as they are definitely brighter than the stockers...as long as they aren't mounted directly near your cluster you won't notice the difference too much though...let me know...
| Mechie3 | 07-12-2007 10:24 AM |
Is the orange wire on the blue gauges pointless? I'm assuming you just use a generic harness for the all the gauges? Do you have a pic of the inside of the switchable color gauges? I popped mine open to take a look ;) but wondered how the dualies differed. It would be tight, but I might be able to wire in some whites.
What is the needle lit up with? It has a funky pattern to it (when open) that mimics a laser diode. My only real complaint is the needle isn't very bright. Maybe it's time to tint my car? :)

I have been wiring up a prosport mechanical boost, an EGT, and an oil pressure.
The Boost works great, the EGT sweeps(no sender is hooked up). The oil pressure DOES NOT sweep(not hooked up to sender either).
Why doesn't the oil pressure sweep? They are all wired the same.
Also, when I installed them, I lost my radio, my keyring light, my overhead cabin lights, my alarm, and my doors open signal on my gauge cluster.
any ideas on either?

Where did you wire them into? You most likely blew a fuse. I did this on my friends car. I'm guessing you have a dual color gauge set? If you hook up the wrong illumination wires to each other (or to a connected line), you create a short and blow a fuse. My OP doesn't sweep only because I have no sensor hooked up to it. On my friends it wouldn't sweep until it was attached to a sensor. Most likely has to do with the way the gauge expects to be receiving a signal.
| Prosport Gauges | 07-13-2007 10:19 AM |
yeah, thats correct. the oil pressure just pegs out if you have not hooked up the sender.

I wired them to the clock harness. The are amber/white. They do turn amber at night and they stay white during the day.
I didn't blow a fuse for the radio or anything, any ideas what else it might be? I checked the engine fuse box and the one under the steering wheel.

I just had the samething happen to me yesturday. I think the clock harness has the bat, ground, dis,acc for the pinouts on the harness. So when I used a vampire clam on the positive and acc the radio came on when the car was off. What i think happens is the harness runs all of the eletrical through the area. So i hooked up all the wires and found a power somewhere else. I also blew a fuse in the engine bay box and everything worked again.

Red-red on cig lighter

orange-either yellow or black on the 2 pin connector that the stock boost gauge hooks up to. I forgot which one it was (use a voltmeter to find out).

I think the sender is bad because I rewired the gauge to the sender and and ground and the gauge was sticking at 100psi and then sweeping throught all the numbers when the clutch is in. any ideas? i think i need to replace the sender. I got three of the gauges. I started my car the other day and noticed a noise. Sounded like an exhaust leak. I found the EGT probe was out of its housing. I put it back together and the leak went away but I havent drove the car to see what happens while on boost. Hopefully it doesnt fall apart. Also my Oil Pressure Gauge Sending unit hasnt been working for a few weeks.I have it connected ot a sandwich adapter. I pulled it out to make sure it wasnt clogged, like it was once before when part of the teflon covered the hole, and there was nothing covering the hole. It was reading fine before it got clogged the first time. Any chance I could get another sending unit replacement without paying?

Second prosport gauge i have purchased: oil temperature. This is also the second time that I've had a wiring mishap. The damn thing just doesn't want to light up when the key is turned to the "ON" position. When I switch the headlights on, the boost gauge goes from white to green (like it should), but the oil temperature gauge goes from blank to white (not what I want...). I followed the [made-by-a-3-year-old-taiwanese-kid] directions and even tapped the same power lines and ground as my boost gauge.
wtfbbq.
Would it matter that I haven't yet plugged the temperature sensor into the gauge?

Little bump saying my gauges are great.... but the peak button likes to pop off. I lost one, got a replacement and that one flew off almost instantly. Your CR rep told me you guys need to take a button off a gauge that then can't be sold... If that is truely how it has to happen, you guys need to get your stuff in order and get some extras from the contract manufacturer or supplier, those things aren't on there nearly well enough to not have access to replacements.
| Prosport Gauges | 08-03-2007 04:10 PM |
lol... I think you are the second person in 2 years to ask for a button...
As you mentioned yourself you did not even glue the replacement on..so of course it would fall off again.
The one I had to pry off to send you was on very well. I think what the rep was trying to convey to you was the lengths to which we go through to make you happy. We took a brand new gauge and pryed the button off just for you.
