Open your trunk and look at the emblem from the inside. You'll see how you need to remove it. It has bolts or some sort.
It most definitely doesn't have bolts... You need to use the hair dryer, preferably a heat gun to heat it up and you need to get a tool (that won't scratch your paint) behind the backing plate to pry it off. The reason it is so hard is that it has two posts, as seen in many pictures in this thread that go into the trunk. And better/more adhesive. Good luck.
I tried using fishing line and a hair dyer to remove the rear emblem, but that thing won't budge.
Any advice on what you guys did to remove the rear emblem? I got the front one painted, that was a piece of cake. It's just the rear one that's causing me troubles :(
I used those "L" shaped tools to remove aftermarket car stereos. I wrapped the end in electrical tape so I wouldn't scratch the paint, put the small end behind the emblem and pulled with pliers. As soon as I got it loose enough, I pulled with my hands. Worked pretty well but I probably should of used a heat gun too. Good luck!!

I hate to revive an old thread just for a simple question, but...
Instead of sanding the blue off, can you use paint thinner like I have read about using on older badges?
