How about this, if you buy an STI then you have an STI. If you buy a WRX then you have a WRX. Why is this so hard to understand? An STI with WRX parts is an STI with WRX parts and vice versa. If I am wrong then maybe I should buy some Ferrari parts and then I can have a Ferrari.
People with Mustangs debate this all of the time too. At least they can argue that they put the Cobra emblem on because they like the way it looks, not because they are trying to make people think they have a Cobra. I don't think that is a valid argument here though since the STI has a queer pink logo and it is only letters, not really all that cool looking.
Does this mean that you shouldn't buy parts for a WRX if they say STI on them? No. But I do think it is pretty ridiculous to just stick STI logos on your car for no apparent reason.
Just my opinion, doesn't necessarily mean squat.

Not really.
STi sticker on a WRX would be equal to a SVT badge on a GT trunk.
STi on a 2.5i trunk is equal to a SVT badge on a V6 mustang trunk.
I just said screw it and bought me an 03 cobra and it came with a free SVT badge. :disco:

that's funny man cause yesterday i drove by the girl in an 08 wrx sedan with an sti front frill on. from far awayi thought i was approaching an sti but when i realized it was a fake sti i looked at her and didn't even wave even though she was smokin hot....:lol:

You got lucky... in previous years the fastest ones were painted WRB, in keeping with the newer, less boy racer look, the fastest ones are now DGM, like yours... Good price, BTW, better than I did.

everyone with an sti wants to go wingless/sleeper which is ok. But Everyone with a wrx wants an STi wing and badges... Don't flaunt it unless you got it.

i think if they have a sti swap in then it is ok, but only then. if i had a sti swap maybe i would think about tbut then again maybe i wouldnt cause that would give it away. i think it is better to piss people of with them not noing what your driving. thats why im going to put camry stickers alll over mine

if it is fully swapped with the works...to the point that it is essentially an STI then yes (for model years that came with STI models) for other models, its maybe ok if they have lots of STI branded parts, then you could make an argument that thats like putting cobb or spt stickers for having an accessport or SPT catback and SRI
