If you purchsed tickets from the speedway you should get pit passes with your tickets for thursday morning. this is the only day they have open pits.

I've got four seats in J for sale here: http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=421358
Best deal you can get. Face value, free parking, free pit passes, police escort. If they're not gone through here soon, someone will take them locally.

You can maybe get some from ebay ~$5-$6. But they come when you buy tickets.

Cool, thanks for the replies. I wasn't the one in charge of getting the race tickets for our group, so I'm guessing that the guy that did has the pit passes along with the tickets. I just didn't know if it was a separate ticket or not.

I forgot about that! A bunch of stayed and hung out for a while uintil the police told us to pack it up. Last year was fun, this year will better because there is a race to watch...

Anyone who purchased Race Day tickets, include the $50 3 day General Admission Pass, will get the Thursday Pit Pass ticket in the mail. Which includes a pass to park in the infield on Thursday.

I am the LAST option for getting passes. Reread the info on the first post. I put it there so I could be somewhat hands off. However, all day I have done NOTHING but email people. Between meeting people here to hand out passes, mailing off other passes, and trying to meet people at the track, this is not going to work. I can't deal with people asking questions here, via email, and PM's, and not forget someone.
IMS FIRST.
If they can't get things done, call me. I have limited passes, but think I can make it. 317-815-6608. gotta go, email is making noise again.

I noticed that. We're good enough for them to take our money, but not good enough to get in the press release? Someone at the local meet suggested that we're parking on the golf course, we should go rally on it too.

Hey, for those of you getting in on the police escort, when are you going? Here's IMS's exact directions on what to do:
Escorts are scheduled to depart from the Downtown Indianapolis Zoo at 7:00, 7:30, 8:00, and 8:30. Spots in the police escort will be on a reservation basis. Please email your preferred time slot to [emailprotected]. Every effort will be made to accommodate your request, and confirmation of your police escort or alternative times will be emailed to your attention. If you are unable to make your selected time, or would prefer to enter without the escort, you may access the Car Corral at your leisure through Gate 10.
Talk about it here, fellas. If everyone wants to get in at once, that's fine. I do not care what time it is.

sorry if I soulnded a little bent yesterday. I seriously answered emails for 2 hours. I don't want anyone who wants to get in, not get a pass. Just try IMS first. If they suck (which I'm seeing they do, quite often) THEN, email me. EMAIL, not PM. I'm not smart enough to work them fancy PM's.

I was just messing around when I was complaining about the press release. Personally, I couldn't care much less if they don't list Subaru in their article. It would've been nice, but I'm not going to lose any sleep over it. :)
2nd, As geeked as I was to participate in a police escort I'm not going to make it. We are staying on the north side of town and after mapping it I'd be driving practically right past the speedway to get to the zoo.

I believe it's 14" or less for the cooler. Not like yours was all that big anyway. It's OK if you want to pretend you were concerned you might have one that's too big.
anyhow, check on your tickets, that's where I read it. I'm 99% sure it said 14". Didn't say if that was length or GIRTH.

I would say the corral was a success. At one point I counted 25 cars. One of the larger groups.
The bad :( hoossier weather, IMS moved us to the back straightaway. A little out of sight of the crowd. I was looking forward to parking on the westside of the lake.

first off, big kudos to you for arranging this. i thought the corral was a major success. we had a lot of cars; 25 by my last count; 22 2.2/2.5/WRXs, 2 STis, 1 SVX. i think only porsche and maybe bmw topped us. i met a lot of good folk. "best" part is we were the only japanese import; at least i didn't see any others. i especially liked the fact we were on the back straight of the oval. not only were we on sacred ground, but we also were not on grass, as advertised. if there's one i'd definately like to see repeated next year is parking on the oval. it was a away from the masses but i consider that a good thing. there was still a lot of people walking through. i took some pics of the corral. i'll post a url later today. i'm look forward to next year. forza ferrari!! forza schumi!! forza subaru corral!! :)

Yep, stand J, section 11. Sat there last year too, that first turn after the straight is always exciting so we like to sit in that vicinity. I think J will be $115 next year from my understanding streetman. Pretty sure our tix are already purchased as my buddy likes to get them the day afterwards, but if you guys sit in J we should be close by.
Does anyone know if the turn 10 terrace is seating? Or just some kind of elevated viewing stand? I bet that'd be pretty cool to watch as well, it's tough to get good pics in J since they're hauling so much ass at that point :)

For those of you in J. Or even H, or NW Vista, did you hang in your seats for the race, or go walk around the infield? Half and half?
Just trying to see what makes sense for next year. Want to get tickets NOW, before J fills up, if we want to sit there.

We sat in NW, and stayed there the whole race. Too much action to think about getting around! Plus, too many people. We spent all day Friday and Sat. just wandering around, then Sunday morning did a little more wandering, but stayed put for the race.

i purchased mine online this morning; $210 for two seats in J. to answer your question, i stayed in j for half of the race. i then headed to a break in the fencing between turns 6 and 7 to get some unobstructed photos. if i wasn't taking pics, i'd have sat in j the whole time. so much nicer* than where i used to be; tower terrace, which i noticed this year was practically empty.
the one uncertainty about J and particularly H is how much visibility we'll loose after turn 6 with the new corner 6 terrace going up.

So did anyone actually manage to get to the Slippery Noodle or the Speed party on Saturday night? We went down to check it out, and after spending 20 minutes stuck in the traffic circle wading through a throng of crazy Columbians, we managed to get down two blocks to the Slippery Noodle, but gave up trying to find parking and went home! We did see a Williams F1 car parked in a trailer out front of it, though...

my pics from the car corral are here:

btw, at the end of the day, i was the last subaru in the corral. the security guard allowed me to take the subaru corral sign as a souvenir; made me wish we all had signed it. it's on my office wall for now. :)

What time did you leave? We headed out at about 5:00 or 5:30, and your STi and my WRX were the only two cars left :) We thought about hanging around to see when you'd get back, but both just wanted to get home at that point.

They even captured a pic of Streetman directing traffic into the corral:

Just kidding Josh. Seriously though, thanks again for hooking this up. It is so nice to be able to drive right into the infield and park for free.

Streetman
Thanks for getting me the passes. I showed up late and everyone had appeared to already have split for other places at the track or in corral by the time I showed up so I didn't get to meet anyone.
The corral was better then I expected on a whole. My nonsubuaru favorites had to be the BMW 2002 and the Quattro coupes. I was hoping to see an F-40 or F-50 but still haven't seen one in person.
