Hondaslayer 04-03-2004 12:09 PM

STPR 04' Who's going??
I'll be out there with autosport engineering, anybody else racing/spectating?
StuBeck 04-03-2004 12:44 PM

I'm considering working a few of the stages, I'll have to see how money works out though.
Pete 97 GS-T 04-03-2004 05:26 PM

Wouldn't miss it for anything! It is my favorite weekend of the entire year! I've got Rally New York and Rim of the World before STPR, and all I'm thinking about is STPR. Must be the pre-rally festivities deep in the woods.

I'll be there. Most likely in the other "non silly" seat. But seriously, having been at STPR since 1980, 12 years as worker/stage captain, 8 years co-driving and now 4 years driving, I'm really looking forward to this year now that I have the WRX drive train in the 96. Should be fun, rain or shine.

I'll be there as well....

Fixing everything the above two break

See you there.

Hey, Tom Braun. If you're lurking out there somewhere, are you going to come out and visit? Hope you're doing well enough that you can come spectate. ;)
Orion 04-07-2004 03:35 PM

I was planning on attending, but I have a Solo II Divisional in Flint on the 6th. No way I can make both.:(
Hondaslayer 04-07-2004 10:59 PM

So skip the SOLO II

Damn I showered last year, whats the big deal??
b_tapper 04-13-2004 01:58 AM

jesse370 05-16-2004 11:33 AM

I'll be there, I hope the scca handles the crowds better this year. They managed to ruin asph run last year:mad: I was at the spectating point 25 minutes BEFORE the sweep came through and they weren't going to let any more people to the apex of the corner, so with about 100 people on the inside of the corner and tons more on a wet hilside in pens with terrific views of trees and bushes:mad: And even better that was the only morning spec point so EVERYONE was there, bravo scca....

sorry for the rant, I remember how great stpr used to be..watching the sprongels and that charging purple cossie barrel through the tioga state forrest was incredible.
Bort 05-16-2004 11:45 AM

I'm going out there Friday morning with the wife/co-driver to run the TSD and staying thru Sunday Morning. We're staying at the Comfort Inn in Mansfield.

Who else is doing the TSD?

You can't miss me, I'll be the guy in the Subaru;)
JC_595 05-16-2004 02:37 PM

See you all there! I and the rest of the RAlly TV crew will be there filmeing the event. Also bringing a couple Rally TV Girls this time too!

i am definitely going with my dad and my friend. My dad's friend from work who has a rex might also come as well as my cousin and two other friends. We'll be the ones in the midnight blue Nissan Murano AWD. Is there some sort of convoy going from NJ?
WIT 05-18-2004 10:05 PM

I will be at STPR with two of my friends... don't know what we're driving yet, as i'm looking for a new car... a scooby would be nice...

I'll be the other guy in the Subaru. At least mine is a different color.:)
04RedWRX 05-19-2004 01:20 PM

I'm trying to see if I get up there, but I have a question or two. I can tell all the rallying is done on Saturday, is it possible to watch a bit and move locations during the day or are you basically tied into one spot for the duration of that stage?

Any info on spectating you can share would be great.

BTW I'll be the other other guy in a Subaru, mines Red.
rallynutdon 05-19-2004 01:46 PM

Moving around is definitely possible. Since the start is at 10 AM, you can get to an early spectating spot (water crossing (get there very early) or Asaph). The rally comes back to Wellsboro at 2:45, then heads out into the woods again at 5 PM. Haven't worked or spectated (driving now) for 13 years so I'm not sure, but you should be able to get to potentially 2 more locations for the evening runs. With the new spectator rules you may only be able to get to 1 location at night, but you should be able to make it a location where the cars pass twice. Buy a program as soon as you get to Wellsboro to get all the spectator scoop.
jeisen 05-19-2004 02:39 PM

i always make it to 2 runs during the day time (stage 2 and stage 5), but haven't stayed for the night stages yet.
jesse370 05-19-2004 03:17 PM

Yeah you can do a morning/afternoon stage, and then they have a late afternoon stage, and then they re-run the stage about an hour or so later with the lights on...At least that is the way it always used to be.

I can't wait to see how many wrb wrx's will be at stpr this year;)

last year in my mind the coolest stuff was seeing a forrester XT with every pink sti suspension part ripping around wellsboro, oh and the rally baja was fun too....
Hondaslayer 05-19-2004 07:16 PM

The FXT was actually a Subaru rep.

I'll be the guy in the big blue Autosport Engineering cube truck, or in a White FXT.

If you haven't seen a night stage, you're missing half the spectacle
WRXMaster 05-19-2004 11:56 PM

I will be there representing tejas
jesse370 05-20-2004 10:45 AM

I know he was a rep I was talking to him earlier about spt and sti stuff. And I saw him in the car and yelled over to him asking if that was a FXT and he smiled and did the shhhhh. It was just cool seeing that car with sti wheels and all the sti suspension parts.
Kha0S 05-20-2004 12:46 PM

I'm trying to snag a hotel room... bleh.

jesse370 05-20-2004 01:20 PM

I think you waited a little too long man, you may end up in mansfield or farther out now.
BluSuby 05-20-2004 08:18 PM

I'll be there with my brother, two friends, and my Sti. One of my friends will be driving a black EVO. We're camping at Kenshire Campground. Is there going to be meet at the grocery store this year on Friday night? I'm heading up Friday afternoon to set up camp early then hang out.
I remember that forester with NJ plates  I gawked at it for a bit
I wonder how many Sti's and EVOs will be there this year?

Samirr76 05-20-2004 08:24 PM

I dunno I did the crossing before its not all that its cracked up to be. Before you could get up in the woods and see the corners before the crossing. BUT I doubt that will happen anymore....

Yo samirr haven't seen you around in forver.

True, so true. Where they cross the water is neat, but the two corners before are the best,
