Koni Challenge qualifying just ended just ended. The Fords are looking strong on the oval, and Acura/honda swept the front 7 spots in ST! Yikes!

Are the RX8's in GT 3 rotors? And who designed their chassis? I'm assuming they are tube framed.
Sux that the 3 rotor was pulled out of the BK motorsports ALMS P2 car...need a 3 rotor SOMEWHERE in racing, and I hope a 4 rotor too

Good call. I don't have Speed so this is a lot better than nothing!
Looks like the 997 GT3's are doing quite well in GT. The RX-8's seem to be keeping a pretty decent pace as well.

Its been great racing. Not sure how I feel about the coverage. I guess its hard to do that many hours without some bumps...
As much as I'd like to see the 01 win, it would be great to see a battle in the closing laps.

Awesome race, I don't know how many of you got to go, this was my first time and it was great! I usually go to Sebring, and this was a much better experience! I like the ALMS better than Grand Am, as well as the Sebring track better but the amount of access you get is great at Daytona.
I had a garage pass, and with that you are able to literally go into the garages as they were working on the cars. Today I was less than 2 feet away from the mechanics as they replaced the drivers side axle and some suspension pieces on the Ruby Tuesday DP car. If I wanted to, I could of gotten a very nice tool collection, some free lightweight 2-piece rotors, a driveshaft, an M3 diff., as well as many suspension pieces :) No baracades blocking you, I loved it, but I'm sure the mechanics HATE it!
It was also great from my seat that I could see the ENTIRE track. Something just not possible at most tracks. Can't wait till next year. I also saw a lot of subies there, especially in the infield.

I was there 2 years ago.. And its a blast. Pretty much free reign around the paddocks.. Except the hot pits. We drank ALOT of beer during that race. Probably annoyed alot of teams in the garages working on the cars. But hey. It was a great experience. Looking forward to doing it again soon. Definetely was a good race.

my pleasure, it was a great event and I hope I get to go next year too.
I would put this on your list of events if you can go, I've been to Sebring a few years and this just blew it away. Make sure to get a garage pass if you can, that was by far the best part and I spent half my time in there just watching those guys work their magic.

Highlight for me was when stupid Nascar's stupid "Ace" Jeff Gordon got in the car and HIT THE PIT ROW WALL!!!!!!:lol: :lol: :lol:
What a tool! Ask him to turn more than whatever gentle angle Nascar corners have and BOOM. It was even a left turn for god's sake. One would have assumed prior that if nothing else he could turn a car left, he's had enough practice with the ol' left (I thought).
Anyway, the weekend obviously had many other, better high points but I'm still getting a kick out of this one. Also, I have to give props to Patrick Carpentier for his role in his teams second place finish. It was nice to see a fellow Cannuck do so well.
